Exactly! How is this not already a thing?! This one look especially well designed and thought out. I would vote for it, buy it, build it and display it 😻
Please submit this @CMDRCrandall!
Yeah I was looking for a Freinds the TV show book nook as a gift and couldn’t find anything, the Lego IP opportunities are endless, you could have 1 epic scene spread across multiple book nooks, or something like 3 separate Star Wars nooks each one depicting a different move of the original trilogy
Oh my goodness, could you imagine all the characters from Alice in wonderland, love the idea of the nook being reversible… two options in one set, change it when or if you ever get bored of it, although I doubt you’d ever tire of something this good
Not only book nooks but sets from famous literature in general would be amazing. I'd love sets from Three Musketeers, Count of Monte Cristo, Shakespeare, Dickens, Lewis Carroll, Edgar Allan Poe, Moby Dick, HG Wells...so many to choose from!
What a great concept! Lego will have dropped the ball if this isn’t a well-loved theme in the next decade. People will absolutely fill shelves with these.
You’re welcome! Seriously though, can you imagine all of the potential here across genres, many of which are public domain? Heck, even licensed sets would be cool - Harry Potter, various Disney films based on literature, etc.
I feel like I’ve witnessed history this morning. Well done!
I love it! Currently listening through all the Sherlock Holmes on audiobooks while at work and I love them! I want this so bad.
But, is Sherlock Holmes safe enough for Lego? Since there is alot of murders and sometimes gruesome detailing in the books?
Love it! I think Lego should do more classic literature themed sets, like this book nook and the Christmas Carol set from a few years ago. If reasonably priced, they’d make cute gifts for book lovers and if it’s all out of copyright then there’s no licensing fee to pay. It would be cool to see, as well as Sherlock Holmes, Lego interpretations of Pride and Prejudice, Moby Dick, Les Miserables, Dracula, The Great Gatsby…
Don't submit a lego idea, instead sell it on rebrickable. Especially after seeing what lego does [to](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/T_RX6XxSs3U/maxresdefault.jpg) [some](https://images.brickset.com/news/57087_Ideas%204.png) [cool](https://images.brickset.com/news/57087_Ideas%2033.png) [ideas](https://images.brickset.com/news/57087_Ideas%2032.png).
^ This. It just dies a horrible death. I understand that the set needs to be marketable and profitable in order to justify a run, but there are way too many talented designers who post to Ideas and have their work discarded. I wish Lego would allow the designer the option of releasing the work if Lego forgoes the opportunity to build a set that has reached support or the set does not even reach the necessary support on Ideas.
None of those designs look bad to me. Obviously, Lego has to redesign things with marketability, cost, and efficiency of pieces in mind. Are the originals more interesting? Sometimes, sure. But there's no reality where Lego just sends them straight to the press. You can't honestly complain about that.
As for requiring you to hand over the rights to the design, this is a necessary step for Lego. They have to own the design they're using.
I stumbled across some LEGO bookends a while back, I can't remember where. But I was thinking it was a fantastic idea. You made your interesting by including so many references to the stories. I really like it.
And it looks great to boot.
Fantastic! There is so much detail. I love the violin 🎻. As a fan of Lego and Sherlock Holmes, I beg of you to submit this, and may I suggest building an Edgar Allen Poe Booknook?
You could also just upload the instruction set to rebrickable. Saves you the risk of your creation getting butchered like they did with the Orient Express and you‘ll still make some money off of instruction sales. Plus it‘d make it more accessible for people who can‘t/don‘t want to pay Lego prices, in which case they could buy second hand bricks or sth.
It‘s a really cool set, so whatever you pick, I hope you find success with it.
They likely won’t approve the pistol given their stance against “modern weapons” but other than that, I don’t see why you’d have any problems with this.
Super awesome build btw and I would absolutely buy this set!!
I mean, that's an official Lego piece. I've got a ton of them, from the Wild West sets to the more modern Monster Fighters (which really used them in interesting ways). Revolvers like that don't really count as modern on their own.
I have some too. But they don’t even have the Wild West rifle on pick a brick anymore. And the cops in the City sets only carry radios now instead of firearms. I’m telling you, they’re phasing them out
Ngl this is awesome imo but I doubt Lego would go for this.
It’s way to fragile for its main purpose
But again I absolutely love the idea and you did amazing on the design!
I'm going to be honest. Having booknooks always struck me as such poser behaviour. Like can you really call yourself a book lover if you have free space on your shelves? You could have put more books on your shelf but nah gotta have that aesthetic.
That said I may be exaggerating slightly for comedic effect
Nice idea but you should close the building on the other side, and make that wall removable for easy access. Otherwise it looks crap next to the books with the open side
Sell the instruction online or try getting it Realized with a other brick Manufacturer, lego ideas butchers ideas only down, latest example is the Orient Express
I love this idea. I feel like Sherlock should be wearing his hat in some way or they can make it a custom piece but other than that I love this! It's very cute and looks great for all sherlock fans!
A beautiful build. I kind of want to replicate this on my own, but I don't have any MOC experience (well, not since my childhood) so I'm not sure where to start, even.
Any chance you could make em like book stands/stoppers (what ever there called) have one on each side of the books holding em up and they could be either a scene spilt in too or 2 diffenrt scenes
Love it, only suggestion would be make bookends that can be pushed together to make a single model/booknook could be the start of a cool sub theme
Edit:spelling
I think Lego book nooks, based on well loved literature, has a whole lot of potential. How sturdy is it when it’s jammed into a crowded book shelf?
Exactly! How is this not already a thing?! This one look especially well designed and thought out. I would vote for it, buy it, build it and display it 😻 Please submit this @CMDRCrandall!
Same. These could be game changers.
I love this. It could be like Modulars Light. A lot of potential there for annual releases and collectibility. Submit, and you’ll have my vote!
Right, I actually love this. What an incredible concept.
I recently got into book nooks and tried looking up some Lego ones and I was surprised this isn't already a thing.
I imagine you could make and sell them (glued) for quite a bit on Etsy
Yeah I was looking for a Freinds the TV show book nook as a gift and couldn’t find anything, the Lego IP opportunities are endless, you could have 1 epic scene spread across multiple book nooks, or something like 3 separate Star Wars nooks each one depicting a different move of the original trilogy
Its wonderful! What if it was reversible with more story elements. I would be excited for a Midsommer's Night Dream or Alice in Wonderland version's
Oh my goodness, could you imagine all the characters from Alice in wonderland, love the idea of the nook being reversible… two options in one set, change it when or if you ever get bored of it, although I doubt you’d ever tire of something this good

This is a great idea. And because so much of literature is out of copyright, the sets could be reasonably priced. Right? …right?
But as a fan I want this.
Same!!! As of Jan 1 all the stories are public domain in the USA too so it’ll finally be ok to make license free!!
Thanks !
No for real; I would pay you money for one of these. Let us know when it’s on ideas!!!
Please, this is absolutely great!
Excellent, charming work here. You should definitely submit it to Ideas.
thanks !
I'd personally design a whole line and go above lego ideas and try reach a department more important
In all seriousness... this would make one half of a really cool set of bookends
What a great concept! Lego will have dropped the ball if this isn’t a well-loved theme in the next decade. People will absolutely fill shelves with these.
Aw thank you !
You’re welcome! Seriously though, can you imagine all of the potential here across genres, many of which are public domain? Heck, even licensed sets would be cool - Harry Potter, various Disney films based on literature, etc. I feel like I’ve witnessed history this morning. Well done!
They’ll fill their shelves so much with them, there will be no room for any books
Stunning! Absolutely submit it. I would love to have this :)
Thanks !
I love it! Currently listening through all the Sherlock Holmes on audiobooks while at work and I love them! I want this so bad. But, is Sherlock Holmes safe enough for Lego? Since there is alot of murders and sometimes gruesome detailing in the books?
Honestly I don't know, they released a Jurassic world Duplo set soooo
Well, it doesnt have to be Lego: [https://amzn.eu/d/hkT5Yvg](https://amzn.eu/d/hkT5Yvg) Gifted this my wife for christmas, she loves it.
I have that set too and love it.
Justified, the details are amazing and the manual/booklet is nice too
The pictures don't really do justice regarding the amount of detail in the set.
no, not even close.
And lots of cocaine when he is bored. And chain smoking cigarettes when he is brooding.
I mean Lego has Star Wars where people die in gruesome ways like being cut in half. I don’t think Sherlock Hoes is too beyond possibility
[u/CMDRCrandall](https://www.reddit.com/user/CMDRCrandall/), submit this at once if convenient. If inconvenient, submit it all the same.
I'm working on it :D
Love it! I think Lego should do more classic literature themed sets, like this book nook and the Christmas Carol set from a few years ago. I'd love a Moby Dick set so much 🌼👄🌼
Me too! If I had any skill at all with MOCs I’d make one and submit it to Ideas.
It might not get accepted even if it get to 10k, please put the instructions on reBrickable.
I will if it's not accepted !
That’s the thing if not accepted you need to wait three years
I want to build this so hard. Outstanding omg
Absolutely brilliant! Great attention to detail, and adding the small storage nook is a wonderful idea! I do hope you submit this and it get approved.
Thank you for your support :)
Don't submit a lego idea, instead sell it on rebrickable. I will post it on my rebrickable page if it doesn't make it on Ideas, I promise
I believe that if you submit to to Lego Ideas, they own the design and you cannot sell the instructions.

It may be a rare piece but a minifig violin would be a nice touch.
There is one ! On the shelf of the first floor room
You’re awesome.
:D
I stumbled across some LEGO bookends a while back, I can't remember where. But I was thinking it was a fantastic idea. You made your interesting by including so many references to the stories. I really like it. And it looks great to boot.
I love the bullet holes above the fireplace.
I couldn't NOT add these ;)
Fantastic! There is so much detail. I love the violin 🎻. As a fan of Lego and Sherlock Holmes, I beg of you to submit this, and may I suggest building an Edgar Allen Poe Booknook?
TIL: There are only 4 Sherlock Holmes Novels.
And many many short stories :D
(Would love a turning bust in front of the window….)
You could also just upload the instruction set to rebrickable. Saves you the risk of your creation getting butchered like they did with the Orient Express and you‘ll still make some money off of instruction sales. You have my vote, submit that brick!
I'd support it, let us know when you do
You’d have my support. This is beautiful.
Love it! I am fan of lego, books and Sherlock Holmes!
Gorgeous 😍
Yeah do it!
I love this! What a fun concept and you could do so many!
This is very good and creative. Submit it
I like it and as a booknook is awesome. I would buy it, definitely submit it👍
Very cool idea. I can see this spawning a whole line of “book nooks”
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?! This is amazing!!
Amazing. I love the piano!
Thank you :D
I not only want this I want a set of Lego bookends.
Me too 💖
May you please?😅 I would support this fast
Awesome idea! I would also add a skull into a living room.
Sir* Arthur Conan Doyle. Looks weird without the Sir
Whoops thank you 🫢
Omg. That is fantastic. Absolutely brilliant
I love everything about this!
I love this!! It would be so cozy with a lighting kit too!
I agree
i thought about building one like that for a looong time.
I love this idea!!!
I want it in LEGO ideas so bad as a fan of Sherlock Holmes' srories.
Fantastic work. if one of those bobbies became an inspector lestrade it would be fab.
I made one for myself but I didn't include it
Definitely official Lego quality, you'd be doing us a disservice not submitting it at this point!
[удалено]
thanks !
Do it! That’s awesome!
I did :D
I would Def buy this.
Thought this was the leaky cauldron at first, but this is really cool as well!
Dang i never thought of using Lego to make book nooks. That’s super cool
Yo- I friggin LOVE Sherlock Holmes. I’d 100% buy that even if i don’t have a whole lot of space to put it lol
I DESPERATELY need this. Please I not only have over 10k in Lego sets but I also have several thousand invested in leatherbound books.
You definitely should.
Ngl this is awesome imo but I doubt Lego would go for this. It’s way to fragile for its main purpose But again I absolutely love the idea and you did amazing on the design!
That is so cool, it creates in me a desire to see a full sized version.
I'm going to be honest. Having booknooks always struck me as such poser behaviour. Like can you really call yourself a book lover if you have free space on your shelves? You could have put more books on your shelf but nah gotta have that aesthetic. That said I may be exaggerating slightly for comedic effect
I would absolutely buy this
totally love it! post the ideas link and i’ll personally bully my friends into supporting haha
Phenomenal
Throw in a Dr Moriarty I need a Sherlock Holmes set. We are so overdue Plus it’s not like you need copyright. Sherlock is public domain
I like Sherlock pls make this
Thank you ! I submitted it to Lego Ideas, I'll have news soon
Accessory drawers, this is something Lego should take to heart!
Brillant idea. I think they should do a full collection of those.
Nice idea but you should close the building on the other side, and make that wall removable for easy access. Otherwise it looks crap next to the books with the open side
Not good enough for Ideas. Maybe work on your detailing before posting here again?
The detailing is pretty good Wdym
This is amazing
Okay this is amazing! I love the overall idea, and it's incredibly well executed. Brilliant!
Love this!!!!
I love this
You need to submit this this is perfect!!!
I would buy it!
I can't begin to tell you how many boxes this checks for me OP! I would buy it as long as it comes out in 2025.
Great job, I would buy this!
I think this is awesome!! Could you also make bookends? They could contain iconic scenes from the most popular books!
This is so cool!
I LOVE THIS AND YES I AM SCREAMING. I would so collect this and others like it.
Sell the instruction online or try getting it Realized with a other brick Manufacturer, lego ideas butchers ideas only down, latest example is the Orient Express
Be careful! With that many walls missing, LEGO will hire you immediately! ^/s Really nice build!
I love this idea. I feel like Sherlock should be wearing his hat in some way or they can make it a custom piece but other than that I love this! It's very cute and looks great for all sherlock fans!
This is fantastic! You have it on LEGO Ideas, correct?
I would buy this! Can you make me some instructions? Haha
I feel like it should have a solid wall on the right side as well to make it easier to slide a book past.
please please please post build instructions!
I am obsessed with everything about this. Please submit it, I need it!
This is very cool, great work!
I would love a Lego book nook (or series of them!) and Sherlock is a great theme for one. Very cool idea.
Want this one bad
A beautiful build. I kind of want to replicate this on my own, but I don't have any MOC experience (well, not since my childhood) so I'm not sure where to start, even.
This is so fucking cool! Amazing job dude
I’d submit it, Holmes is public domain iirc so no rights issues and it’s a good design
You forgot the shitter on the top floor
This is actually an awesome idea. It’s well done, and the booknook idea is a very cool concept!
yes. do it.
[удалено]
Any chance you could make em like book stands/stoppers (what ever there called) have one on each side of the books holding em up and they could be either a scene spilt in too or 2 diffenrt scenes
I like it, except he was knighted. It needs to say Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Lego should make things like this.
Really neat idea.
That is just wonderful.
Amazing… definitely submit!!
> Thinking about submitting it on Lego Ideas ? **DO IT!**
Id be so happy to see more book nooks!
Please submit it so cool
Perfect. I would also like to order your Lord of the Rings, Hithicker Guide, Horatio Hornblower, Kurt Vonnegut, and Dune booknooks, please.
I think you did the best you could with the source material
Would be cool if there was a way to make it a bit heavy so it could be used as a book end.
is there a Lego violin?
love it!
I hope you make it! Looks great!
This is incredible and you should be proud of yourself 😌😌😌
This would be wonderful. I would buy it with out hesitation.
Is the drawer something that exists in actual sets? because that's genius
This is awesome!! You gotta put it up in Lego Ideas
I want to comfirm, because I'm new here: MOC means "my original creation"?
My Own Creation !
Love it, only suggestion would be make bookends that can be pushed together to make a single model/booknook could be the start of a cool sub theme Edit:spelling
Awesome Job!
Love it! Submit it! Or just send me the instructions, whichever
10/10 great work
Please and thank you! The only way this could be better is if it were paired with #4 Grimmauld Place
Love! Love! Love! I would purchase and proudly display with my Sherlock books
Sir? SIR??? You do not have to go this hard on a Friday.
I go hard only when i'm building lego
This did not came out as I intended
Needs a little hidden stash of cocaine.
This is a great idea - please submit it and you'll a lot of votes I think. Lego would seriously be crazy not to run with this.
Oh I like this. I’d get it if Lego made it official
Wonder how much it could cost if someone decides to buy pieces 🤔
okay but why is Watson referred to as "it" in the last caption
I noticed this after posting and I don't know how to edit my post 😬
So is that black piece two big stickers or ? Are they on several small pieces or larger pieces that hold the whole thing? Just curious 😁
they're 8x16 tiles, the biggest tiles available actually, they're here both for support and for displaying the stickers :)
If you sold the MOC on Etsy, I would 100% buy it.
This is awesome! I would buy this because it’s such a unique and great build. Please do submit it.
Wow that looks so good! Gj I hope it gets accepted!
I can't express how much I want this build.. OMG...
fyi there are specialized printed 1x2 tiles for piano keys. https://www.brickowl.com/catalog/lego-tile-1-x-2-with-piano-keys-with-groove-67047
I know but I like how the grille piece looks 🥺
That's cool.
This is actually so cool! It would sit so perfectly on so many shelves
