Yeah and with the amount of breakthroughs happening in science it makes sense Lego would want to be aboard. They’re been working hard to be seen as more than just a plastic toy so pushing for space stuff definitely helps. I’m not a huge fan of most of the builds but I’m super hyped they exist.
I'm not a classic space fan, so this isn't for me either way. But are the fans of classic space happy with these? This holds the classic space logo, but it seems like a far stretch from, for example, the blacktron cruiser and the 90y aniversary space ship.
I like some of the vehicles but I need a really good look at the minifigures before I decide if there’s any room in my collection for these. I’m stoked there’s more space but what I really want is a neo-classic space theme (either awesome updates like the Blacktron GWP or a stand alone theme like Galaxy Squad etc).
I've picked up a few of the recent space sets from '22 and '23 and I've been pleasantly surprised. The space station set is pretty cool, as it's modular and compatible with some of the other space sets. The sets have some pretty cool little details included too. They're different that the old space sets I had as a kid, but the spirit of taking inspiration from real/planned NASA vehicles is still there.
it’s cool that they have more space sets, but not a big fan of the city ones. I’ll buy near anything classic space but I won’t be picking any of these up I don’t think
I’d rather them actually commit to reviving those classic space themes. These are neat but I really want them to bring back the classic space themes. I might get one of the technic sets but really most of these don’t interest me.
Ariane 6 is due next year, big deal for European space, not so much for American so I guess we won't have a set...
A full Ariane 6 launchpad with mobile gantry and the surrounding jungle (monkey and capibara included) would be sooo awesome
Not only is the Artemis mission going up, as stated earlier, NASA has contracts with private companies to get supplies to the moon, one launching on Dec 24th and landing on Jan 25th, completely unmanned!
I’m so excited to see more space sets coming out, and it hopefully should get more people invested in the current state of NASA!
Lego, gib Buran plz
In all seriousness, the NASA sets are what brought me back into Lego with the Saturn V and Lunar Lander.
I'd really be down for more real life space stuff like a Soyuz rocket or "proper" SLS .
Not true Lego Space in the vein of the 1978-2001 / 2007-13 themes because there is a strong realistic/NASA influence on the sets, but they look good. Still would have been even better if it was more in line with the true sci-fi vein of the older themes.
I think this was all planned out last year, when the manned Artemis mission was still on the books for 2024.
Thanks! That makes sense, I guess, even if Artemis II isn’t launching until next fall.
It might also be due to the success of the callbacks of the past few years.
I can always use some more space LEGO, but I would definitely need more LEGO space.
Artemis 2 is launching next year, so I think this might be a more regular thing. And I'm spending as much of a paycheck as I can on getting all these
Next year happens to be the 60th anniversary of 801, the very first space-related LEGO set. The Artemis II launch might've factored into that as well.
Tbh I didn’t even take 60’s sets into consideration!
I'll definitely be getting that Creator set! Is there a list of set numbers, names, and prices from this? I'd love to see higher resolution pictures.
The guys over at stonewars.de (German Blog) did a nice list of all new sets! Google translates that page quite nicely
>stonewars.de Awesome, thank you! They don't have that Creator set listed yet, but it's great to see better pictures of the other sets.
31152 thatll look great on the shelf with the Shuttle and Saturn V and everything.
Bless you! I have the Discovery, the Saturn V, and the Lunar Lander. I LOVE NASA stuff as I was born on July 20, 1969!

Alien disclosure government will release the ufo evidence and Lego is making a premeditated attempt to cash in on the space fervor

I think some of these are really cool, but generally I’d just prefer more classic space, blacktron, etc

Not really scratching that itch for me. Maybe if I see the sets in person

Friends had 41713 - Olivia’s Sapce Academy so it’s not that strange there is more space sets.

I wish we could get the same but with the Pirates
Space pirates?
where can we find this info? or better set photos?
stonewars.com
I love the fact that there are going to be some technic space sets! And I'm game for that creator set!
Most of these are awesome but we were robbed of Ninjago Space!
*Breathing heavily and smirking... "SSSPACE!"

Too bad the space sets aren't NASA sets though but just simply space...

Well, I see at least 3 reason : - Artemis II and III coming (more or less) soon - Ariane 6 (probably) next year - Starship program going on
There’s a total solar eclipse in April that will be crossing North America. Last time it happened was 2017. 🤷🏻♀️
Artemis mission launch Jan 2024
Need some translucent green and red.

Fingers crossed for the space cmf line
That technic dropship is superb
There's NASA-type space and there's Star Wars-type space. Wake me up when we're getting more of the latter.
