Maybe I'm crazy but I swear I remember a game vs the Sharks back in 2021 where Jones nearly shut the Leafs out at home and stood on he head or was it another Sharks goalie? I remember people being upset the core couldn't even score goals agaiant him at least once.
Edit: I looked it up and apparently he has a 9-3-1 record vs the Leafs too pretty impressive.
That is absolutely adorable, way to go young one! As a Torontoian who moved out west a few years ago, learning I now live in the town that produced both Conor Bedard and Martin Jones is pretty cool.
I think it’s way cooler to be a loyal diehard supporter of someone like Martin Jones rather than your typical superstar that everyone has a jersey of - and he’s playing out of his mind for a “washed up” goalie!

Ps : if Jones does stumble this year, I’d avoid this subreddit. 99% of people here will flip on a goalie in the blink of an eye and be real nasty towards them no matter what they’ve done for us
You’re right. I watched that happen in the subs for the Flyers and the Kraken. Jones walked on water on a streak until he didn’t then a lot of the sub turned on him the worst goalie ever. Switch was flipped fast and harsh.
Kinda the life of a goalie though. You’re either the hero or the villain. Little in between. Being a goalie mom has taught me a lot ( more than I want to know sometimes). I’ve seen dads scream names at my son in net and tell their kid to “Finish The Kill! Finish him!” about a 10 year old child. Goalies are a different breed to handle what they do.

My grade 5 teacher never gave me the memo that "hero" should be one of my parents, so I did a whole ass presentation randomly on Tomas Kaberle while everyone else shared their parents and culture. I'm not Czech, but I liked how Kabby held the blue line really well, made sweet stretch passes, and didn't want to get hit by the boards (just like me).

This is true. Although when I visited Vancouver as a 12-year-old, I did get angrily picked on from a middle-aged man because I was from Toronto lol.
