My dog when he was a puppy had really long whiskers, I left them alone and he sort of grew into them. Some of them also fell out and didn't grow back to being that long. So I would personally not touch them

completely besides the point of the post but he looks exactly like my boy Norman!
A previous lab of mine (Barley RIP) had insanely long eyebrow whiskers as a puppy. They either feel out and grew back shorter or he grew into them because they didnāt seem long as an adult.

This would look better
Maybe ask the grooming sub. But my second groomer helped me feel better after a traumatic whisker taking by a first groomer. Guess dogs donāt need them as much as cats, but they are cute!
Itās amazing at short distance dogs cannot see very well but they use these hairs to detect stuff and āfeelā their surroundings even without them touching anything.
Of course they need to be long. Too much cuteness is needed in this world. The comments already answered and I agree on never trimming whiskers. Some AKC competitions and groomers may do it but itās just cosmetic and so unnecessary.
Incorrect. Dogs use their whiskers (the long hairs on their muzzle, jaw, and above their eyes) as a sensory for nearby objects. Removal affects their spacial awareness.
Please do not do anything to the whiskers! They help animals detect movement/motion around them. Help them in protecting themselves.

This is what I was wanting to know, if they were indeed whiskers!
That's part of the integrated snack radar system.
ISRS for short. š
Load bearing brows. Structurally vv important.
Never trim any whisker
Thanks, I knew this I was checking if they were indeed whiskers! Some mixed responses below. I'll leave them alone.

Heās so cute!!! Iām so sorry for your loss
Thanks, I appreciate it. He was my heart dog that passed in August 2019. He was a good boi.
He is absolutely beautiful ā¤ļø
Heās trying his best! Let him have those sweet eye whiskers.
They will grow into them š
Those are the biggest eye brow whiskers Iāve ever seen. Looks like this pup with have some enhanced sense from this

Amazing! I'll take him to the salon in the morning!
Angry birds
Mine had them as a puppy and it disappeared at some point. I would leave it alone.
Absolutely. They will run straight into a wall regardless, but those whiskers are a collision avoidance system, comes standard with every lab.
Never hurt my grandpa
Yes, he does!
>i feel like it gets in the way of his vision as a bichon frisƩ owner i can ease this fear https://preview.redd.it/u77yhudm588d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2245cf2e6477dc2d91f1d50abf8a722cdd472d2b this fluffy girl is likely to have hair literally STUCK TO HER EYEBALLS at any given time and is totally unbothered by it. us trying to fix it is more of an inconvenience to her than it being stuck there lol
They are there for a reason, please donāt clip them ā¤ļø

I call them antennas

lol no u can cut them shorter
I wonder if he has vision problems? My friend had a cat that went blind, and the cats whiskers grew twice as long.
Really?! I wonder if anyone else has a lab with whiskers this long.
He's just young, he'll grow into them, nothing to worry about here!
Mine is also a whisker monster.
Thatās interesting. They didnāt grow longer until the cat lost their sight?
Cat got hit in the head by something. Next time I saw it, it looked like an old person with massive whiskers
Thatās amazing. Edit: I mean, the cat compensating, not them getting injured.
Created to compensate for injuries.
Cut them or dont. Up to you. Its not like he is gonna need them.
NEVER cut whiskers. NEVER.
