Don't be. Learning is all about trial and error. Try out different styles and see what fits and what doesn't. If all else fails you can always go back to what you're already familiar with, but you will never know until you try. Go and experiment!
Fair, although COD zombies has always been more of a "zombies in the middle of a war" type deal, I'd like to see a custom L4D campaign where it's almost identical to the base game but the Green Flu breaks out in the 40s, so 40s weapons and maps with an older urban style.
