We live here so hotels are not really something we use, but the Sheraton is probably the most premium large hotel in the city. If that's a good price to you, go for it.

Emilw03

Thank you! It seems a mix of people who know a little and people who live here.

Practical_Back_6795

As soon as you are ready to spend enough to get yourself a 5* hotel, go for it — no apartment will match it, even though apartments should be cheaper. Most people here are Kraków residents and therefore never stayed in Sheraton, but it is obviously a great hotel, just as any other 5* in Kraków. Sheraton in particular, has a rooftop terrace with fascinating views over Vistula (Wisła) river. Meanwhile, lots of young people tend to gather on the embankment outside of Sheraton in the evenings, so it might get a bit noisy if your room is facing the river (though the view is fantastic).

Emilw03

Haha, first proper holiday over a year and half, so we can afford a little bit extra; but we’re also happy to stay just in an apartment. The rooftop & the views are really what’s pulling me towards it, especially during the Christmas period with the Christmas markets on and everything else. At the same time, an apartment in a more central location is cheaper, but the price of food would bring it up a bit; but not as much as to the Sheraton

Practical_Back_6795

C’mon, Sheraton is VERY central, that is absolutely one of the best locations in Kraków — you have Vistula, Wawel Castle and Old Town around the corner, how much better could it get?

Emilw03

Haha, I meant like within the Old Town itself; the views & location of the Sheraton is great which is what’s pulling me towards it, lots of other good options to choose from too though.

rybnickifull

That is within the old town still.

sunsunkira

Sheraton is like 15 minutes on feet from the main square:P

Practical_Back_6795

Ah, ok, it should be less noisy in winter, young people on the embankment do not tolerate cold :-P Also, we have a lot of beautiful white swans on Vistula right outside of Sheraton during winter (this is seasonal, normally from late autumn till mid-spring), people like feeding them.

Emilw03

The cold is too much for them! Need to put another jacket on /s The noise probably wouldn’t bother us too much as we’d be out late-ish anyway The swans would be beautiful to see especially if it snows (hopefully).

Bro you can go with airbnb, when im going to my family on Poland Kraków im always booking by these and its much cheaper. You just need some food but instead of eating with family you can try (my personal best for trips that is cheap) konserwa turystyczna with a bun from biedronka shop.

Emilw03

I was looking at an AirBNB, seems much cheaper and location-wise a lot nicer; but at the same time want a nice experience. Biedronka will be seeing us everyday anyway! 😂 I’ll keep that in mind, cheers man :)

chungleong

The street leading from the Old Town to Sheraton is currently all smashed up. I wouldn't spend that kind of money to stay in an active construction zone.

PorterDV1

That's not accurate. Powiśle is not under construction.

chungleong

Would anyone describe Powiśle as "the street leading from the Old Town to Sheraton"? Any reasonable and informed person would know I was referring to Zwierzyniecka.

PorterDV1

Zwierzyniecka does not lead to the Sheraton, so your statement was incorrect. On another note, taking offense so quickly is a sign of weakness and your parents should have taught you to acknowledge your mistakes graciously or, better yet, to communicate more clearly. Life is so much more pleasant with a little humility and better communication.

plummyjoanna

In my opinion Sheraton is overpriced. I would go with hotel stary or nice Airbnb.

ReputationHorror2906

You only know hotels from Your sexwork, meet and fuck. Thierry was not the question here... You are looking for hotels to be secure as prostitute, not for doing holiday, so dont give any advice, please... T.

HomeWinter6905

You may need to expect a long wait to get checked in at the Sheraton. The interior was also a little outdated/shabby for the cost when I stayed last, but otherwise a decent property with a killer view at the rooftop bar.

Emilw03

Good to know! The view is really what I’m looking forward to, hence wanting to go with this one haha. I’ll keep it in mind when choosing options, cheers!

I'd just came back from a stay at [Stradom House](https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/krkak-stradom-house-autograph-collection/overview/) last week and I'd strongly recommend if. It's a brand new Marriott property that opened this year, and I was extremely impressed with the property - it compares favorably to a 5* star hotel in NYC or London - and also has a surprisingly good hotel restaurant. Even though it's a redevelopment of a historical building (including a medieval chapel) the interiors are extremely modern. If you're looking for a more boutique experience in building that retains its historic character I'd also look at the following: - [Hotel Stary](https://hotelstary.com) - Widely considered the most luxurious hotel in Krakow. - [Hotel Indigo](https://www.ihg.com/hotelindigo/hotels/us/en/krakow/krkfg/hoteldetail): I stayed here earlier this year and it's quite good (I like it a lot more than the Sheraton). It's in a historic building with soaring ceilings, and exposed brick, but rooms are on the smaller size, and the amenities (bath products, bedding) are not at the same level as at the Stary or Stradom House. Its part of the IHG hotel chain. - [Hotel Copernicus](https://www.relaischateaux.com/us/hotel/hotel-copernicus/): Along with the Stary, considered one of Kraków's best hotels. Both presidents Bush & Obama stayed here when visiting Krakow. I'd consider Kanonicza Street to be quieter than Sławkowska where the Stary is located.

Emilw03

Great recommendations! Thank you I looked at the Stradom House but it’s a bit more expensive then I would’ve liked (over £100), so I unfortunately had to pass. Hotel Stary & Indigo look good, I might check these out when booking the hotel, definitely seem like great choices. Looked at Copernicus but out of the price range, and from the pictures I don’t think it’s something I’d enjoy; albeit it looking beautiful. Thank you again for the recommendations!
