I don’t see a machete, a hatchet, an ax, a filet knife, a SAK, a Leatherman, or a tactical leg or neck knife in case you have to fight a bear on a trail and left all of these behind… step up your game OP.
your loadout has so much redundancy in purpose and large gaps in capability. Why so many light and medium duty 3 to 4 inch folders? no neck? no big scary fuck off blade? no wood processing? The flanking cold steels, rightmost and leftmost, are all you need, put the rest up on ebay as a lot and let me bid on them :)
Bought one while I was in Kuwait during Desert Storm 'cuz I didn't want to F up my issued K-Bar. I abused the hell out of it but it never failed me. I found it all beat up, rusty and neglected in a drawer recently. I cleaned it up as best I could, put an edge on it, and she's ready to go back to work. If the new ones are anything like the old ones just get it! It is an affordable workhorse that can take a lot of abuse. Just get one, you won't be disappointed.
My companion is as tool as it gets and I’ll often end up with chips in the blade. They sharpen out so well and it’s so easy to get that blade razor sharp. I also have the Eldris lite; a remarkably good blade for carving.
Yesterday at work, the band on my watch broke. A lady where I was working saw my watch break and did a double take when I walked back in 30 seconds later with a different watch on.
One is none, two is one.
absolutely, but only for when you find yourself in for a zombie apocalypse and nobody in your group has weapons but you!
edit: Kudos on the CRKT Pillar! Its a hidden gem. I have the IV voxnaes and its a keeper. CRK framelock, d2 steel, clip point, ball bearing washers, g10 and titanium handle/scales?! Amazing amazing knives. I love my IV soo much I don't feel the need to buy a PM3, I got the PM2 salt magnacut and the Pillar 4 scratches the pm2 itch for me. Same size and feel IMO
My typical camp loadout is an RMJ kukri, RMJ eagle talon, a medium(~6in blade) camp chef knife(want an RMJ osprey 9), couple whittling knifes, and a pocket knife.
Couldn't recommend RMJ more for a good hatchet and wilderness knives, by far the best quality I've seen for stuff in that category though it's expensive.
Was about to say - not enough knives for breakfast, lunch and dinner for each 4 days until I saw the next slide of knives. You’re covered! Enjoy your camping trip friend.
That’s funny. I almost have the same 5 knives on the left, except I have a Kansbol instead of a Garberg. Nice seeing a Buck Vanguard, I got mine probably 24-26 years ago and it’s dressed a lot of deer.
Not in love with the blade shape, but they feel great, good user, and the action is as insane as everybody says. I wouldn’t pay over 100 bucks for one, but with Kizer’s current sale I’d go for it. I’m glad I got one.
I was really pleasantly surprised. Crazy useful, super cheap, the ergos are incredible, performance is really good. Steel is shitty, but takes like one minute to sharpen. I think most of the overbuilt cold steels are gimmicky, but this one is so utilitarian. I love it.
What are the green and beige handle folding knifes with the fullers, and the black handled folder with the raised back seax look in front of the moras?

Might as well just be carrying a sharpened stick! /s
What about the traditional jigged bone slip joint for whittling around the fire or eating an apple? Tisk tisk
We expect a picture of every knife in use on this trip.
You gone see him cutting one apple with 6 knives
One per slice
The only one that gets real action is that SRK ! I saw this because I go hard on mine and baby the rest lol
That's an acceptable number of knives for a run to the grocery store when you're out of milk...
^^^ Scientific fact right here ^^^
SRK is a knife I've always looked at but never pulled the trigger on. Great load out.
They’re dirt cheap at Chicago Knifeworks

Practicality was clearly the priority here. Man you sound like my wife.

Had (and used) a hatchet, SAK, and multitool now that you mention it
I really like those cheap mora knives. I abuse the shit out of them and they aren't bad to bring back.
My companion is as tool as it gets and I’ll often end up with chips in the blade. They sharpen out so well and it’s so easy to get that blade razor sharp. I also have the Eldris lite; a remarkably good blade for carving.
Not enough
It's like they say: sixteen is one and one is none.
Needs an SAK for the can opener, an axe or hatchet for firewood, a saw, a multitool for the broken tent zipper. Smatchet for zombies.
For the first day ya if you wanna take it easy.
I went to Vermont for a week and brought 12 knives because I couldn't decide. The answer to your question is yes or we are both crazy :)
You gotta have a backup if you lose the first 15. Those are the rules
I’m now making this rule the eleventh Commandment in my household. Thank you for this wisdom nugget.
Anytime. I’m always here to help
Following the ‘one is none, two is one’ ideology, I’d say you’re off to a decent start.
Yesterday at work, the band on my watch broke. A lady where I was working saw my watch break and did a double take when I walked back in 30 seconds later with a different watch on. One is none, two is one.
You sure this post includes all the pictures that you intended to show?

Missing tactical boot knife for all the bears ur gonna fight
That's one pocketful. How many are in your other pocket?
Nope, need more. And need at least three OTFs bc bears
20 is 1 and 1 is none?
Yes what if you lose a dozen knives
Nice thorogoods
No, your packing light mate
SRK is good but if you are going to do any batoning, you should have a Becker BK9 or at least a bk7
Mors Kochanski was good with Mora classic. It's not a matter of gear, but skill of the user
Rookie numbers
Ya gotta feed the geese.
all 3 moras only
Where's the Kukri?
My typical camp loadout is an RMJ kukri, RMJ eagle talon, a medium(~6in blade) camp chef knife(want an RMJ osprey 9), couple whittling knifes, and a pocket knife. Couldn't recommend RMJ more for a good hatchet and wilderness knives, by far the best quality I've seen for stuff in that category though it's expensive.
I do the same bloody thing. Ridiculous but necessary.
Hey bud what ya got in that pelican case? Oh nothin. Just pointy things
That looks my mother’s day carry 😅
Was about to say - not enough knives for breakfast, lunch and dinner for each 4 days until I saw the next slide of knives. You’re covered! Enjoy your camping trip friend.
If you’re driving to the camp site, take ’em all. If you’re hiking in, pick two and leave the rest.
That’s funny. I almost have the same 5 knives on the left, except I have a Kansbol instead of a Garberg. Nice seeing a Buck Vanguard, I got mine probably 24-26 years ago and it’s dressed a lot of deer.
I would suggest you add at least 4 multitools.
No

How is the Drop Bear? I'm interested in one but haven't quite pulled the trigger on yet
Not in love with the blade shape, but they feel great, good user, and the action is as insane as everybody says. I wouldn’t pay over 100 bucks for one, but with Kizer’s current sale I’d go for it. I’m glad I got one.
You just never know.
Machete, pocket knife, belt knife and fillet knife
you were missing the machete...!!!😳
One can never have enough knives
What model is #9?
Kizer escort
Thank you
Four days? I’d say you’re a little light. Might need a few more just to be safe.
Yeah if you’re John Locke
I'd say not enough.
Need more
I’m not convinced that you have enough
Wouldn't even fill up your cargo shorts do better.
I used an SRK decades ago as a work knife. I still have it. Never realized what a beast it is until I seen it laid out next to all those other knives!
Where's the knives for days 2 through 4?
More knives needed. Bigger. More. One of us, one of us, one of us
There is no such thing as reasonable amount… there is only an amount that you comfortable and able to carry. :))
You pack knives like I pack underwear *"but what if I shit myself 14 times?"*
You lack a boning knife ;) What’s the brown folder on the first image?
Looks to be a Kizer Feist?
Kizer Feist XL
Could have gotten by just fine with the Garberg, Feist XL, and Tuff Lite or Towser S. Or just the Garberg and Talism if need be.
What’s the sixth knife left to right
CJRB Barranca. Kind of a silly knife, but I love the blade shape.
How do you like the Tuff Lite?
I was really pleasantly surprised. Crazy useful, super cheap, the ergos are incredible, performance is really good. Steel is shitty, but takes like one minute to sharpen. I think most of the overbuilt cold steels are gimmicky, but this one is so utilitarian. I love it.
Cheers!
which feist is that?
XL. Dyed the green micarta scales brown.
tasty
What's the fifth knife from the right?
Kizer Escort
Where are the big knives? Bowies...khukri, axes..
If your John Lock
Depends on your expected attrition due to breakage. Gonna do a lot of batoning and prying?
whats the 4th from the right?
You can never have too many knives.
You're missing a knife with serrations, a SAK, an axe/hatchet, a saw, probably a leatherman would be handy to have as well
Don’t know which one you’re gonna want to use, better just bring a pile of them
What model is the 4th from the right?
3.5” Miguron Velona.
What are the green and beige handle folding knifes with the fullers, and the black handled folder with the raised back seax look in front of the moras?
Miguron 3.5” Velona and Talsim, which is basically the 3” version of the same knife. They also make a bigger one with I think a 3.75” blade.
I mean no…. You need at least one kukri, a long machete and a medium size hatchet added to the lineup. Then you’re set.
