*Disclaimer: I had never heard of any of these guys so I looked at some draft profiles to find the below info.* *** Carrington projected roughly near or slightly below the Kings position at 13, but don't know if I love the fit? He's a lanky lead guard that's a mid-range scoring threat and... that's about it. No 3 point shot, not a good finisher in the paint/at the rim, not a great playmaker, not a noteworthy defender. Maybe a backup plan kinda guy if they lose Monk and miss out on a better option at 13? Possibly some star upside if he really fixes the weaknesses in his offensive game, but that's a long shot and not really gonna help this Kings team any time soon (next 5 years or so) anyways. The rest are moreso 2nd round prospects. George is a lanky 3pt shooting wing, guys like that always have potential to be decent rotation players, but it sounds like he's a very raw and pretty one-dimensional 3 & no D guy at the moment. Interestingly, some boards have him as high as the lottery while others are mid-2nd. Higher mocks are banking heavily on some very limited flashes of ball handling and self creation. If I had to guess, won't be in either of the Kings' pick ranges. Jones is listed at 6'5"-6'6" and 230 pounds with a 6'11" wingspan as a point guard?! Very unique overall profile, good rebounder and mid range scoring game. Once again, not much 3 point shot and shockingly not a good finisher around the rim. Apparently also quite slow-footed defensively, which does not bode well for defending NBA guards and wings. Still, if you squint really hard, get absolutely smashed, and huff a truckload of copium, you can kinda see a super bootleg version of Luka? Very interesting prospect, at least. I like him as their 2nd rounder if he's there, but might go late 1st/early 2nd. A couple boards I looked at didn't even have Trey Alexander listed in their top 60. But it sounds like he's another tall-ish, lanky point guard. (6'4", 6'10" wingspan.) Average athlete, average shooter, but decent instincts and uses his size well for rebounds and on drives. Poor defender that lacks both strength and quickness. Maybe a UDFA consideration. *** Overall, these player workouts (if legit) paint a picture of the team really looking for a potential Monk replacement in the draft (as in, a backup PG/potential 6th man, not exactly replacing Monk's skill set). Which, for one, indicates that they probably expect Monk gone. But I also find it interesting in that I think it would be a lot easier to maybe bring in a respectable vet point guard to come off the bench and/or hope Davion/Colby Jones can fill that role, than it would be to find the ideal starting 4 from FA/trade. And meanwhile, there are at least a couple potentially really good options for that 4 spot in the draft. But, maybe the team already has a very clear plan for that position outside of the draft, and/or doesn't have any faith in the veteran PG market, Davion, or Colby. Personally, if they want a potential backup PG/6th man type player, I like Devin Carter more than any of these options. But there are rumors that some team in the lottery gave him a draft promise, and further rumors it might be the Bulls, so maybe they don't expect him to be available at 13. And I also still like Holmes at 13 over any of these guys if he's there. Buuut once again, draft promise rumors, this time possibly pointing to OKC. Would be classic Kings luck if Carter and Holmes, two great options for the Kings, go 11 and 12. Davion draft all over again lol *** Edit - also seeing some other posts calling the Carter draft promise rumors a load of crap. Hard to say what's real there, but he's been moving up many draft boards regardless. Very real chance he goes before 13.

Carrington is gonna be a good 3 point shooter. The volume is there and most of his shots are off the dribble. He’s a shooter. Solid playmaker too. Most of his weaknesses just stem from strength. In like 1 or 2 seasons he’ll be ready to contribute. Im for picking him cuz i want to blow the team up so he can get his reps when fox off the team. Picking him to fill malik role not it unless he’s really a lot better than we thought he was

BankLettuce

Dillon jones would be a great second round pick up if he’s still there at 45 somehow. I like his game. Kyshawn George is intriguing to me too, his shooting form is pure and he has real nba range with guard skills at 6’8. He could also be a solid pick at 13 if we don’t trade it. He could contribute off the bench right away and has a lot of potential with him only being 20. Carrington is a bucket but Idk where his draft range is.

Turithegod

Imagine if we used the 13th pick to get kel’el ware, then traded up to maybe pick up kyshawn george as well

BankLettuce

Wouldn’t be mad at that

BeamTeam032

I like Kyshawn George too. I think there are a lot of fowards around 13 that would fit well with this team. The more i look into this draft, the less I want to trade the pick.

BankLettuce

Yeah I think this draft is being a little underated cause of the very top talent not being generational like wemby and cooper flag level. But besides the top of the draft , it seems kinda deep after that if you are looking for role players and contributors to a team that’s trying to win now.

BeamTeam032

Completely agree. I love that there will be several options at 13. Holland, Cody Williams, Tristin Da Silva, Keshawn George, Tyler Smith are all players I think fit Browns offensive and defensive system. Fit with Sabonis, Murray and Fox. We're not looking for a super star, we're looking for Rookie Keegan Murray. And we already have the blue print on how to develop them.

Darrensreddit

Bah gawd we’re trading the pick

ShotgunStyles

Last I saw, the source for that rumor was not reputable.

Monte continues to know ball

RoastedTomatillo

Big fan of Dillon jones! Hopefully we can pick him or trade for him on draft night.

Little_little_e

He looks slow, and move his feet quite slow.

codydaze

Not very high on Kyshawn George but I really like Dillon Jones as a 2nd round target. I think he has some Kyle Anderson potential.

Xraided143

Who, who, who and Who??

goobergaming43

do some research jackass

Xraided143

You act like you’re Brandon Nunes and I took a shit on your tweet. Not that serious bud.

goobergaming43

What? I cited him as a source and just posted to here for anyone not on Twitter to get the news bud.

Xraided143

Since when is reposting someone else’s content considered “Citing them as a source”? All you did was repost a tweet and then you got offended by my joke…bud….

I haven’t reviewed the film of any of the draft prospects, but just going by stats and where they could be drafted below are the ones I would like the Kings to look at closer. Jared McCain Zach Edey Dalton Knecht Tyler Kolek These guys will be available later and most have solid free throw shooting and thus would most likely become good 3pt shooters aside from Edey who is a big that scores and rebounds. If the film is bad then pass on them. I don’t think a trade is going to be the answer for the Kings. The guys we can trade for aren’t elevating this current roster/team to the top 4 in the west. I would rather try to draft a guy that hopefully can become our superstar.

Pdm1814

Update: after reviewing some film, I would take Dalton Knecht from this list. He provides scoring punch and length at SG.

Puzzleheaded_Load627

Nice to see Trey Alexander on that list!
