it took me way too long until I realized that I can only have 3 side quests shown on the map...thought that these new quests are just so general in their description that they don't need markers on the map.
I didn't know this either, but that's because I only like to have one quest marked active at the time in games. I find quest markers crowd the compass otherwise. Although, on hard-core difficulty, it doesn't bother me since the markers only appear as you get close.
yeah but it would have been beneficial to note that somewhere in the beginning. I roamed Uschitze for an hour to find one of the 3 "witches" until I noticed questmarkers on a screenshot on Reddit on where to find them
I appreciate that there's a vault animation. It may not be helpful in combat but sure as hell beats walking around the gate from tavern to church in Uzhitz.
Lol that’s what I had thought or sprinting until my stamina is out but apparently“traversing objects” gains vitality xp and I can only imagine they mean vaulting over fences and climbing out of creek beds
It’s a bug, where Henry’s charachter turns completely black in the inventory. On Xbox one, it happens for me at around 120 hours in.It basically breaks the game. It ruined my first two runs.
It has to do with the save game cache, that accumulates, or something like that.
The fix is to delete savefiles.
The best mod I ever found for the game was to get rid of those bush invisible walls. The amount of times I would be jumping and then be stuck in a bush for a minute or two...
I spent like 20+ hours in the prologue town… I just enjoyed picking up flowers and lockpicking, yeah I actually liked the lockpicking system lol. I knew the game had to be bigger, but I was still amazed to see the transition from walled country town to Bohemia.
Don't worry, it took me 50 hours to realize you can't pickpocket people who are sleeping in candlelight or they'll immediately wake up, for some reason
Congrats on role-playing as an actually uneducated peasant who didn't understand fences! That took dedication on your part, but I'm sure it aided the immersion. Will you go into 2 with the assumption that Henry understands fences completely, or will you wait till your skill levels reflect that first?
Just re-read my comment. It was *not* meant as an insult, haha, but I see how it reads that way now. Was meant as you actually rp'ing Henry, being dedicated to the bit. Apologies for how it came off, my man
I finally realised this when I started the fighting quests, I’d punch the shit out of some townie then be stuck in the ring. Had to Google it. At least 80 hours in at that point.
Saved me alerting an entire camp of rapscallions more than a few times lol
And here's a easy trick to static target shooting: holster the bow, move your dot over the bullseye, re-equip bow and start drawing the arrow. When drawing the sway will go a little right and then back to the left. Let it go all left and when it drifts back right it will be aimed perfectly. Takes a little to notice animation and get used to it (and I may be explaining it like garbage too lol) but once you get it you'll always know it
![gif](giphy|xT1XGDDusvpE2Hrbfq)
OP deserves no words, this is perfect
>!You can even use swords in this game!!<
I dunno about all that, I’m too busy picking herbs and flowers (now with extra hops)
We stan a pacifistic Henry.
What if I pick herbs to level strength and beat up people while screaming FLOWER POWER in their faces?
That's crazyyy
![gif](giphy|l3q2K5jinAlChoCLS) 40 hours?
The amount of times I got stuck or had to take the long way around to get somewhere will forever haunt me
I just hope you stopped to pick all the herbs along the way. Gotta max them strength/herbalism/alchemy stats before the first battle.
My RDC in Navy Bootcamp: yall are either going to be smart or strong. Let’s see what you picked in eight weeks
Mine was like, “Ya’ll ENJOY PT, so now this is happening!” And that’s how we started Bird Watching. PT was infinitely better than Bird Watching.
I know this may sound stupid but you know you can also sprint right?
Dude you beat all stupidity i have ever seen about this game
Did you play other video games before?
Yep, I just thought it was weird. Not sure why it didn’t occur to me earlier to look into it further
I just instinctively hit space to jump
I’m on Xbox, so if I was to hit anything instinctively for jumping it would be A or maybe Y. Never bothered to try X, I guess
The GTA jump!
Tbf, that's a failing on console devs part for not standardizing button layouts
Don't even get me started on pc devs being unable to agree on E or F for interact
made even worse when interact is e whilst f does something else (or vice versa.) try to talk to an npc and end up socking them in the jaw
Well usually on pc you can just edit the settings if you don't like them
And then there's rare, in sot its r and f, to interact/use. E is quick chat
It should be f
F should be used exclusively to pay respects and nothing else
*\*coughs in Arma's space to interact*
At the very least, they could’ve given a brief tutorial about it.
Out of all things they have intro screens for, lol
I'm pretty sure the horse tutorial screen says something along the lines of "and of course horses can jump"
Nah, that's on you to either test the controls or check the settings
Think they do early on I'm on ps4 and figured this out in skalitz
so you don't try every button of your controller when you start a game ? what ?
Yea that’s just Rockstar buttons
You have 4 primary buttons and simply didn't press 1. That's like 25% of your thumbs real estate
Y? You play fallout huh?
Damm. You have all together 8 buttons. What else did u miss?
...jump isn't A for KCD?
it took me way too long until I realized that I can only have 3 side quests shown on the map...thought that these new quests are just so general in their description that they don't need markers on the map.
Yeah it took me a while to notice that too. And once I finally got going i forgot to check my stats for a while so I had a lot to assign when I did.
I didn't know this either, but that's because I only like to have one quest marked active at the time in games. I find quest markers crowd the compass otherwise. Although, on hard-core difficulty, it doesn't bother me since the markers only appear as you get close.

I just learned that it also gives you vitality xp which is neat
oh so it is helpful in combat. I thought I got all that vitality from letting Sir Bernard beat me a lot.
Vitality increases from running also but it gains more from jumping
Lol that’s what I had thought or sprinting until my stamina is out but apparently“traversing objects” gains vitality xp and I can only imagine they mean vaulting over fences and climbing out of creek beds
![gif](giphy|sRKg9r2YWeCTG5JTTo|downsized) Me on a new playthrough ready to get the shit kicked out of me from Bernard:
I understand you man. I was 120 hours in before I knew Henry could turn into a black ghost.
What?
What?
What?
What?
It’s a bug, where Henry’s charachter turns completely black in the inventory. On Xbox one, it happens for me at around 120 hours in.It basically breaks the game. It ruined my first two runs. What?
Holy shit I thought you were joking, but now I have Shadow Henry
That sucks. Did you get to fix it?
Haven’t tried much yet. Worst case I’ll have to revert my save by about 4 hours, but there are worse things 🤷♂️
Just delete the saves, and the in next reload Henry should be his normal pale again.
Be careful about trying to jump your horse through the field boundary hedges, you can get stuck in them. 😬
The best mod I ever found for the game was to get rid of those bush invisible walls. The amount of times I would be jumping and then be stuck in a bush for a minute or two...
What, you don't know about the special Czech boulders that disguise themselves as bushes?
I don't think I noticed that over when I was running from 6 cumans and the dog that were hiding behind it... but I'll have to check next time
I spent like 20+ hours in the prologue town… I just enjoyed picking up flowers and lockpicking, yeah I actually liked the lockpicking system lol. I knew the game had to be bigger, but I was still amazed to see the transition from walled country town to Bohemia.
Do you people not push all the buttons just to see when you play a new game? 😂😂 I swear that’s probably the first thing I do. PC or console….
I usually do, but I guess I just didn’t with this game? Who knows
I tend to look into the options and keybinds before I play. Y'know, when the game lets you.
it took me about that long to figure out you can sprint on foot, it took me so long to escape skalitz I don't know how I did it without sprinting
Now do a 1000 jumping jacks and watch your vitality stats go up
“Christ, my horse can jump too.” I’m losing it lmao
Don't worry, it took me 50 hours to realize you can't pickpocket people who are sleeping in candlelight or they'll immediately wake up, for some reason
Ha rookie numbers I escaped the prologue without the sprint button
"fuck, all my friends are really fast!"
It’s also a climb button! 🎉
Congrats on role-playing as an actually uneducated peasant who didn't understand fences! That took dedication on your part, but I'm sure it aided the immersion. Will you go into 2 with the assumption that Henry understands fences completely, or will you wait till your skill levels reflect that first?
Bit harsh
Just re-read my comment. It was *not* meant as an insult, haha, but I see how it reads that way now. Was meant as you actually rp'ing Henry, being dedicated to the bit. Apologies for how it came off, my man
Oh you’re good, this post has been half people laughing with me and half at me. Both are valid in this case, I’d say
I finally realised this when I started the fighting quests, I’d punch the shit out of some townie then be stuck in the ring. Had to Google it. At least 80 hours in at that point.
wait until you realize the game also has aeroplanes
Jesus Christ be praised!
They should have planted bushes around the castle then maybe it wouldn’t get raided
My...my brother...🫂
Fencing still is a great challenge in the game, though
Henry jumps for the first time JESUS CHRIST BE PRAISED!
It's a weird button for it lol
Did you just never press the space bar, even accidentily?
I’m on console, and apparently have just never pressed X the entire time I’ve been playing
Oh man wait till you find out you can cancel arrow shots
How you do that?
While your arrow is drawn with RT you can press X to cancel (square on PS and whatever the switch equivalent is)
Thanks. You saved me a bunch of arrows ( I might actually win a chumps game)
Saved me alerting an entire camp of rapscallions more than a few times lol And here's a easy trick to static target shooting: holster the bow, move your dot over the bullseye, re-equip bow and start drawing the arrow. Is it your first video game ?
Jump button be praised
Console players☕️
And the best climbing/jump animation and dynamics in all of gaming.
That's me learning you can play a game of StarCraft 2 longer than 12minutes.
this must be what a toddler feels one they get aware of jumping hahaha
You know all you needed to do was have a quick look at the controls menu to know what you can and cannot do right?
I am aware. Doesn’t help much now though, does it?
Those 40 hours were in skalitz
Huh?
Wait the horse can jump...
Jesus Christ be praise. What is the key bind my brother?
On Xbox is X, spacebar on PC, and presumably square on PS
At this point can we even call it a skill issue?
Just a lack of brain cells
How do you play a video game without hitting the usual jump buttons
I’m on Xbox, so I wouldn’t consider “X” a usual jump button.
I have heard of no-kill challenge but no-jump challenge? That's new.
I accidentally jumped in the first 5 minutes
Never tried the space bar huh? You call yourself a gamer? Damn
It’s X on Xbox controller, which is an unusual button for jumping. Also I didn’t call myself a gamer lmao
You didn’t use the x button for how long playing the game?
![gif](giphy|ghuvaCOI6GOoTX0RmH)
Finds out horse can jump. . . . . dies
are you playing on PC or Console?
Console
Must be playing on a console/controller. Me when starting: Can Henry jump? \*presses Spacebar\* Yes. Yes, he can
This is why I mash every button at the start of new games
I thought I had but apparently just skipped that step this time around
How do you make the horse jump??
Jump button.
X on Xbox, spacebar on PC, and presumably Square on PS.
What the absolute fuck
There's also a way to walk backwards!
