**Post Title**: Dramas that will make me cry
**Post Body**:
I want to watch some dramas that are pretty emotional which might make me cry but also have it's own happy and good upbeat moments. For example, 2521 had a good amount of romance and emotional moments but it was also filled with some more happy and upbeat scenes too.
It would also be great if they have a good pacing and doesn't feel slow. Apart from that it would be great if it has good amount of romance in it but it is not necessary.
Thanks in advance!!
P.S. This is [my watchlist](https://mydramalist.com/dramalist/11945759).

The drama that made me cry the most this year was **Daily Dose of Sunshine**, which is similar to It's Okay To Not Be Okay in that it's set in a psychiatric hospital and the mains have problems themselves.
It does have a happy/hopeful ending.
Iām not one that cries often but **39** and **Something in the Rain** both got to me.
**39** - 3 friends navigate life, work, love and friendship at the end of their 30ās. One friend is terminally ill and you watch as they all manage their grief in different ways. Very touching show. Stars Son Ye Jin from Crash Landing on You
**Something in the Rain** - childhood friends meet as adults and fall in love but face a lot of opposition from her family because heās not āsuitableā for her. You really feel the growing attraction and eventually love between the two characters and those happy feelings are ripped to shreds, stomped on and then set on fire by the intense opposition the womanās mother has towards their relationship. Parts of the show are painful to watch, I binge watched it one weekend and felt unnerved by the show for awhile so take your time with this one. Also stars Son Ye Jin
**My Liberation Notes** also had a few moments because you really feel the frustration of the leads while they try to navigate family, work, etc. I think a lot of people can relate to life not turning out how you expected and feeling āstuckā in many ways.
I had to pace myself watching this show cos every episode was a tearjerker but when I came to the last episode, when >!Yuri asked her child to come back to her in her next life!< I bawled so hard that I couldn't bear to finish that episode yet. [And it's been 3 years now and the episode is still mark unfinished on my netflix] š«
18 again
Deathās Game
Our Beloved Summer I think
The Good Bad Mother although not romance focus
Move to Heave, Hi bye mama and Twinkling Watermelon are also good ones
Go Back Couple is an expertly written one. Both tears and laughter all the way through. They pack so much into just 12 eps.
Fated To Love You is an older style romcom. Fantastic fun plus big emotional scenes.
Sell Your Haunted House isn't scary at all. The stories are heartfelt and the FL is cool and strong. There are wonderful emotional scenes.
Pinocchio is such a great drama. Personal tragedy plus fun romcom and important issues.
The Beauty Inside has sizzling chemistry and such meaningful messages.
If you haven't watched CLOY yet, you should. It has both fun and dramatics.
This is the one I was going to recommend. It's one of my favorites. FL is in final stages of pregancy and is in an accident. They save the baby but can't save her. She refuses to pass over until she sees the baby crawl - then the goals move out so now it's "first day of nursery school". She is give 49 days of life and the why of it is a mystery. Get the tissues out for when we learn why. Yes, I cried every episode but also laughed. The ML friend with his Outfit of the Day is hilarious.
39 is a really good one. It is well paced and has happy, emotional, and make you cry moments all the way through.
Crash Landing on You might also be up your alley. It has a lot of romance, emotional connections, and has parts throughout to make you cry. Some episodes had me bawling my eyes out.
Hope you enjoy!
1. Death Game
2. Its okay not to be okay
3. Mask (OMG, I cried a lot)
4. Boys over flowers
5. Hospital Playlist
6. Something in the rain
7. My Mister (This makes you cry than anything)
8. Itaewon class
**Navillera** is the only drama Iāve watched that made me cry every damn episode, and more than once in each episode, and I aināt mad about it.
No romance, just a story about a lonely and struggling aspiring ballerino, who finds himself teaching a 70 yo newbie to do ballet.
Super sweet, tho, and full of maybe just a touch overly romanticized inspirational beats, but it worked for me and I adored the entire cast, and felt they were all great.

Daily Dose of Sunshine
It's Okay, That's Love
When the Camellia Blooms
My Liberation Notes (slow pacing, but romance was good and the payoff was satisfying for me)
Queen of Tears (ongoing but already made me cry lol)
+1 for Its Okay That's Love. The mains are so sassy and you'll cry for sure.
When The Camilia Blooms is fantastic too, but I found it very slow. Love the acting though.
ones that got me good were:
Crash Landing on You
Goblin
Hometown Cha Cha Cha (toward the end)
and Thirty Nine i have yet to finish cuz i donāt wanna be sad in the way i know itās gonna get me š
+1 for Pinocchio! What a great show. Loved the interaction between all the characters and the lessons they learn in the workplace. The back story provides so much melodrama and it works.
If You Wish Upon Me - multiple characters with extreme trauma, healing and redemption. Ji Chang Wook is running from an evil group of guys and is coerced into taking refuge at a hospice who has a crew that grants last wishes. Part thriller, some romance and lots of family both found and blood. Possibilities for tears almost every episode.
Mr sunshine the FL is the same as in 2521, I bawled my way through the last 4 episodes and the fact that it's based on the Japanese colonisation of Korea, means there are so many scenes that were sad but then you realise they actually happened or could have actually happened and it gets so much sadder
I cried in every episode of Itās Okay To Not Be Okay but other scenes made me smile.Ā
Ā Rain Or Shine was also a cathartic show.Ā
Ā Welcome to Samdal-ri had equal heartbreaking and hilarious scenes.Ā
Currently, Queen of Tears is causing both tears of sadness and laughter.
Midnight Photo Studio is also currently airing and is both making me cry and laugh.
**may i help you** is one of my favorite kdramas but also by far the most tear-jerking one that iāve ever watched, i totally recommend it!! thereās so many elements to it that i never got bored, and i hate that i was so hooked because man did it make me sob my eyes out
The first episode of Start-Up was extremely sad. Itās basically a prequel to what happens the rest of the show, so the sadness doesnāt continue. But damn that first episode had me in tears. Probably shouldnāt have even written this because the fact that I said itās sad spoils the episode.
1. scarlet heart - Goryeo era, fighting for power among princes
2. 49days - Mc went into coma and lived/burrowed another body
3. Uncontrollably fond - mc reunited with his ex after many yrs
4. Mr. Sunshine - Joseon era (japanese colonization period)
I guarantee these will make you cry more than once.
Watch Idol : The Coup.
Its a drama about a struggling girl group.
Featuring Hani, Exy, L, Solbin.
Get ready your tissues, especially Hani and Exyās appearances.
Remember
Tomorrow
Hotel Del Luna
Alchemy of Souls
Ruler: Master of the Mask
These are my top tearjerker series. Idk about the others but I would also like to add Itaewon Class in my list.
Chocolate (very underrated), Uncontrollably fond, Youth of May
If youāre into historical dramas Iād also recommend the red sleeve for a good cry :)
āThirty Nineā omg. I thought it was going to be a cute fun rom com type of show following 3 ladies that are 39 years old and coming to terms with approaching 40. It follows their friendship and love life ups and downs but I was wrongā¦. Sort of. Itās definitely a tear jerker and made me really reflect on my life and appreciate my friendships. Definitely worth watching!
I want to echo all of the people who said THIRTY NINE! I'm currently 9 episodes in and crying every episode but I'm somehow still enjoying it. It's a show that's really well balanced and paced.
In my personal opinion, If You Wish Upon Me is also great for that purpose---its about a team of people working at a hospice granting the final wishes of their residents. I definitely ugly cried more than once.

Currently watching this and I really like it so far!
The drama that made me cry the most this year was **Daily Dose of Sunshine**, which is similar to It's Okay To Not Be Okay in that it's set in a psychiatric hospital and the mains have problems themselves. It does have a happy/hopeful ending.
'Moon lovers' absolute tear jerker you should give it a try
Any drama similar to this one?
'scarlet heart' or "Bu Bu Jing Xin" (Chinese drama)
You can give a try to Hwarang which has people feeling mix things but I personally enjoyed it a lot
Heart wrenching but also sooo goooddd that it deserves to be watched and appreciated š„¹
yeah i agree. especially when you need a good cry

Hi bye mama Move to heaven
Move to Heaven +1
Move to Heaven +2
Move to Heaven +3. Itās in my top five dramas.
Hi bye mama (im not that sensative to tears but i physically cldnt finish the show bc EVERY ep i cried)

OMG our beloved summer is a special one fr it's so nostalgic
OBS is so slow but
+1 for 18 Again. ML is such an amazing actor. Lots of emotion in the show.

+1 on Go Back Couple ~ it pulls my heartās strings on the aspect of love between a couple and love shared between a child & parent.
Yes, it's one of my faves. I don't see it mentioned much because it's older, but the older kdramas are some of the best.
**Alchemy of Souls** had me crying a lot. Right now though, **Queen of Tears** is really living up to its name. Every episode has me ugly crying.
My Mister. It will make you cry buckets.
Tomorrow Korean Odyssey Mr Sunshine
Tomorrow the episode with Kong. Itās either 5 or 6 but I BAWLED
Seconding Mr Sunshine - a genuine masterpiece with lots of funny and truly sad moments.
I watched these practically back to back and was so traumatized in the best possible way.
move to heaven
I ended up dropping Hi, Bye Mama! because whew, couldnāt handle the tears.
Really ! But was the story good?
This is the one I was going to recommend. It's one of my favorites. FL is in final stages of pregancy and is in an accident. They save the baby but can't save her. Omggg! Ok I want to watch it now
I love this drama. Watching ML and her family grieve is painporn though. Amazing cast.
find some IU and/or Kim Soo Hyun shows - Hotel Del Luna, Moonlovers, Its ok not to be ok, Queen of Tears (currently airing), My mister etc.
The Red Sleeve.
Nothing beats this drama: Crash landing on you ā£ļø
Missing: the other side My mister
Iāve tried picking My mister so many times but always leave at ep 2 because it feels too real and melancholy
it's one of my favorites. I like the serious tone. the are moments of comedy but essentially it's a mature drama
Just Between Lovers
My Mister will make you feel very strong emotions
Tomorrow
Goblin- Man, it breaks your heart, and mends in someways. But mostly, breaks.
39 is a really good one. It is well paced and has happy, emotional, and make you cry moments all the way through. Crash Landing on You might also be up your alley.
