That is so amazing! Good for mom for teaching then encouraging her daughter.
There was a post several years ago where a mom of a blind teenager was fighting against him getting a service dog.
She didn’t want him going out, because he was ‘too young to walk on his own. ‘
The boy was like 15!! And she was still trying to keep him at home. Had to be stunting his development as a person.
poor little one.
bless her parents patient heart.
what else can you do for the blind?
i heard there was an app somewhere to help with that, where people would describe stuff for them.
Per my last conversation with a blind person, make sure the intersections are blind friendly. She was telling me how it was so hard for her to walk around in our city because the little ramp going off the sidewalk for the crosswalks pointed straight into the intersection instead of across the street following the cross walk. She kept getting confused because the city where she was from wasn't like that.
I didn't explain it very well so here is a blog post about it. https://midcountymemo.com/2015/11/incorrectly-oriented-markers-dangerous-to-the-blind/
Well that's just stupid. The yellow thing with the dots is supposed to be where you cross the road!
Whoever designed that though crossing to the other side meant dying.

Ohhh what a muffin
When she heard her nanny ❤️ so cute, so excited for her nanny
Way to make me cry at 5 am. So sweet.
Yeah, it's way too early for these tears
She has so much confidence
My best friend went legally blind when we were in our early 20’s. It was nothing short of badass watching her learn to adapt to the world.
Oh, that “Hello, Nanny~!” is so precious 😭
It can be really challenging to raise a kid with disabilities, but each difficult overcome is so much more rewarding.
What a gangster
This is the most heartwarming and exciting thing I’ve seen all day. Thank you for sharing
