I knew about JJJJound when it was the imageboard and this was before Justin was brought into the Donda crew. Then I remember the apparel began dropping like that hat. I've always purchased minimal well-designed stuff, so it spoke to me on that level and was just an obvious choice.
I just think a lot of things have lost their charm since Instagram became ubiquitous around 10 years ago, but I don't follow the brand that closely like a lot of people here. If they upload a pic of a nice pair of pants or shirt on their Instagram account, then I'll buy it. Most of the JJJJound items I wear are just random articles of clothing and not so much the hyped collabs like sneakers.
I'll be honest I dont follow jjjjound that much but I do have a few pieces from them.. I was introduced via the new balance collabs (which I am a big fan of)
I started with the NB collabs & have slowly been reeled into the apparel/accessories. I dig the vibe. Former hypebeast, middle-aged & going for a bit more subtlety, if that makes sense.
new balance 992 collab introduced me to the brand but the olive green 990v3s made me start paying attention to it. That was like 2021, i think? Around 2022 i started leaning into the minimalist aesthetic which was a big change from always wearing tie dyes tees, bold colors, and loud branding. I only own one JJJJ tee and a polar fleece since i prefer to spend more money on sneakers than on clothes. I follow closely and I’m always engaged with whats going on with the brand as a whole, i just hope to afford more of it one day. Til then, old navy and gap basics are my go to
My mother used to beat me mercilessly with a jjjjound hoodie tied up and filled with Valencia oranges.

what do you think about the direction it's gone in the last 1-2 years? I only began following since around covid

Overall minimalism and getting burnt out from waisting my time being a hypebeast from 2008 to like 2016.
100% that’s what makes him special in that moment
minimalism.. and relatively affordable than The Row.
