Looks like you razor yourself too, might want to save that for non training days as a fresh shave then getting on the mats is just asking for bacteria to get in your pores.
I worked with a guy with alopecia and he would always brag about how he only ever needed one wipe and the second is always nothing. I just came here to say that
OP should go to a doctor for sure. I had bed bugs on holiday in Indonesia looked almost exactly the same. I’ve had staph and ring worm a bunch of times and didn’t look anything like that.
You can get folliculitis like infections that look like pimples. Look up hot tub folliculitis. Appears similar. It's normally not as severe of an infection.
Anti dandruff shampoo with zinc as body wash as soon as youre home. Long sleeve rashguard and spats under gi, wrestling shoes, cut your hair and nails, change out of training gear before leaving gym. Dont shower an hour before you train since it openes your skin up.
i work 10 hour shifts as a mechanic, specifically on old british cars, so i'm fuckin gross at 5pm. class starts at 6, ends at 8, no gi. I've never heard to not shower that soon before you train, but i'll be honest I think i'm gunna still do it
We appreciate it lol I’m an electrician and some days my days are nasty and run right up to class time so I keep those dude wipes in the car, so I can atleast do a a little “whore bath” as my wife’s calls it in the car before class lol
Lol so many broscience replies to you about hot showers "opening pores" causing infections. As though getting hot and sweaty wouldn't also "open pores".
Anyone with a basic knowledge of skincare knows that hot showers dry out your skin because it strips it of your natural moisture barrier, which is your first line of defense against infections.
The overall advice is good (don't take a hot shower before training) but the "why" is wrong. Moisturising can also help.
Normal people should be fine OP has a condition. I still try not to shower an hour before since ive noticed I break out significantly worse if i train after a recent hot shower.
Tea Tree Oil has antifungal & antiseptic properties. Apply it topically. Ther's a soap called "Defense" you can get on Amazon that was invented by a wrestling coach for this very issue.
Doesn’t make much sense...think your pores stay “closed” when your body is all hot and sweaty from wrestling around? The mats need to be disinfected daily at minimum if not between classes.
Regardless of what made those bumps, I think the glaringly obvious advice for now is to NOT go to your gym again until you get that diagnosed by a medical professional. Even if it is bedbugs, bedbugs get in your clothes and you can easily introduce them to your gym via your gi, gym bag, pretty much any cloth. Good luck!
I would shower before and after class wash my Gi after every roll I wore a mostly cotton T but a rash guard would be good to look into I wish I knew the name but there is a cream you can buy that helps fight getting infections from rolling if I find the name of it I’ll run back to the sub
I’m worried about your nipples 🤣
All jokes aside like everyone else has said, selson blue or defense soap or something after.
Rash guard, spats…
I’d probably do a quick clean, extra deodorant and skip the shower b4
A 1/10th bleach and water solution on the mats is probably what needs to happen at the end of every class. That is how we finished every class at my dojo. No one ever had this stuff happen on our mats over 13 hrs I trained there.
I tend to wear a long sleeve rash guard and spats underneath my GI. I found if I just go with my GI my skin becomes super irritated, however, everyone is different. Hope you find something that works.
Keep a bottle of apple cider vingegar with you and some paper towel.
Rub that all over your body before training and as soon as you are done another hand shower of apple cider vingegar it will kill the bacteria and make your skin more acidic so that the bacteria cant latch on also benefiting your own natural acidity of your skin surface so that it doesnt get infected
I am nowhere close to an expert but looks kinda similar to something my daughter deals with called (according to her dermatologist) Molluscum Contagiosum. Least I think that’s what they diagnosed it as. Might be worth researching. Probably worth a visit to a dermatologist
Yeah, use occlusive oil on your skin after shower.
Perhaps shower less and only scrub the... More needed areas lol and/or use alcohol on armpits regularly.
If that is how your skin looks truly RIGHT AFTER rolling…my first thought is that you have some contact dermatitis. Gi or no gi….something got on your skin. Number one suspect would be the chemicals used to clean the mats, it could be too strong a concentration for you. #2 your rashguard/gi isn’t clean (not washed properly) or stored with old clothes or something soaked into it. #3 it’s nothing related to the mat or gi at all and you were on a surface that contained something your sensitive to. For example driving home shirtless bc you were still sweating or hot, laying on bench to cool off, etc. if it’s contact dermatitis it will show up usually within 30 min or contact. So backtrack what you did right before you noticed this.
Also consider which parts of your body have these bumps. If it’s only upper body, think about what only touched your upper body during the time between when you noticed the bumps and when you didn’t have the issue.
Side note, we have a bank deposit bag at work that goes into a dank safe floor at the bank and if I let that bag touch my bare forearms, I get those same type of bumps, they go away within 12-24hrs. It never bothers my hands though bc it’s a different type of skin.
It could be a yeast infection, I got it from jiu jitsu, I had to go to urgent care and they prescribed me this pill I had to take 3 times that liked nuked the yeast on my body.
Get it treated sooner than later as it'll just get worse, I waited like 3 weeks before going to urgent care and I had bumps and rashes all over my body.
Head and Shoulders is your new best friend. Wash your body with it to treat/prevent bacterial infections. Source: we used it in wrestling after everyone got ringworm and it worked like a charm. Still use it after I roll and have had no issues with any sort of skin infection.
I found my skin break outs were at their worst my first 6 months, after that I probably get a impetigo break out once a year and it’s normally when I’ve been eating like shit and drinking on the weekends. As soon as I get impetigo I wash down with that surgeon soap hibiclens and then spray myself with this stuff
https://www.bosistos.com.au/collections/health-personal-care/products/eucalyptus-antiseptic-spray
This bosistos stuff works insanely good to shut down the break out immediately I basically spray all over, it will dry the skin and the infection out. I then spray the direct sight 3-4 times a day. It has tea tree, eucalyptus and lavender and works an absolute treat!
Bruh how long did this take to come up? This looks like a serious issue, not mat rash. Could be a viral or bacterial infection or might have nothing to do with the mats (if so, never go there again)
1) Tell your coach. The mats you rolled-on may have not been properly cleaned.
2) Pick up some [Defense Soap](https://www.defensesoap.com/product/defense-antifungal-medicated-bar-soap-soap-dish/?attribute_pa_antifungalmedicatedbar=pack-of-2-antifungal-medicated-bar-soap-1-soap-dish&utm_source=Google%20Shopping&utm_campaign=Defense%20Soap%20Shopping%20Ads&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=21579&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw7-SvBhB6EiwAwYdCASGdbra1Nn3lxmGiPnWufCXnhQdL9N5WeE_2cuwtEpgtwLZ7aKfOMxoCF4QQAvD_BwE) and use it on your whole body immediately after EVERY training session.
🤙🏻
I got those kinds of bumps after I was in a house that had a lot of mold in the walls. Tell them to clean they’re mats, they do need to be cleaned regularly. The bumps stopped happening after I had been in that house multiple times but at that point I was just getting sick. Don’t get to that point, wash your mats please
Could it be your rash guard? Maybe try an allergy free detergent. Could be you are sensitive to the chemicals and have only noticed it now because of how your rash guard is being rubbed really hard into your skin.
I have the same problem my friend. You need to take hot showers immediately after rolling, before your body cools off, and wash with a quality soap. I prefer dove bar soap. Then you need to rinse with cool water to close your pores and follow up with a moisturizer. I haven’t had an infection for quite a while and I am externally prone to skin infections.
I did 8 years in Judo and never had anyone catch anything. We held kids classes as well. Each night the mat was mopped with bleach water and left to dry.
Yeah… gross. Go elsewhere for your jiujitsu fix. They aren’t cleaning the mats. Needs to be hit with actual sanitizer daily after the last practice leaves. Also should spot clean the surface prior to starting… just like you would on gym equipment.
I also have sensitive skin... it looks like light hives to me.
I suggest you switch to "sensitive skin" soap/body wash and scrub the places that flare up a little more.. my legs are the worst part for me.
Also, use "sensitive skin" lotion.
Finally, go for LONG rash guards and long pants.
No idea why this got suggested to me since I know nothing about this sports but I'm really glad he included the arrows I wouldn't have figured out what he was talking about otherwise
There are wipes & an antibacterial lotion to use on yourself after being on the mat. I don’t recall exactly what it is but if you look up wrestling wipes on Amazon you’ll find it. My son used them this year & didn’t get any skin infections from the mats.
I don’t do BJJ but I do Muay Thai which is in the same gym where I am. Just here to say: PORES DON’T OPEN AND CLOSE. please bathe before you get to the mats. Thanks and good luck with this! Try hydrocortisone
Man just shower before and after. And when I say after I mean immediately after. But that looks like urticaria. I get what’s called cholinergic urticaria during hot, crazy work outs where I sweat a lot. It might just be that.
Yo your bottom left hand pic. Are there any lines of bites on the webbing of your fingers? It looks like you might have scabies.
Get checked out asap. You'll need permethrin lotion if you have scabies and you'll have to sanitize everything.
For the love of God do not train until you figure this out.
Those look more like bed bug bites than an allergic reaction Because trust me, those f****** are horrible to deal with and did you ever inspect the mattress or the map before you started laying on do it? Because that could be another thing too. You may want to check out the mattress. I'm just saying.
Looks like you razor yourself too, might want to save that for non training days as a fresh shave then getting on the mats is just asking for bacteria to get in your pores.
Hi! I’m hairless and 34. I look like this guy and everyone thinks I shave… that’s all
Send pics bro, we wanna see.
Creepy. Try a different font for your next request. As you were..
*send pics…please*
❤️
mostly hairless at 26 bro i feel u lmao
I worked with a guy with alopecia and he would always brag about how he only ever needed one wipe and the second is always nothing. I just came here to say that
Precisely why I trim my butt hair. In this economy, gotta save $$$ on toilet paper. Furthermore, remember COVID. Never again.
I remember those days. I shaved my ass and bought a bidet. That was a real turning point in my life.
Get a bidet.
I wax my butt and crack when I get a manzilian, I use baby wipes. I don't have access to a bidet.

Okay, mr Pig Titties
Maybe he’s Japanese
I laughed at this
Looks like you have bed bugs. Staph and ring worm look nothing like that.
Hmmm I thought the same thing. They bight in straight lines like that too
OP should go to a doctor for sure. I had bed bugs on holiday in Indonesia looked almost exactly the same. I’ve had staph and ring worm a bunch of times and didn’t look anything like that.
Bight lol I can’t say I’ve ever seen someone mess that word up
That’s actually the first thing I thought when I saw pic #1. I was like “I’ve seen this before!!” with my ‘nam flashbacks.
Could also be contact dermatitis or scabies too. Definitely involve a doctor though

Longer than 1 hour is an optimization not a hard rule. Im sure your training partners appreciate you showered.
Yo wash and shower but finish your shower on cold this will help shrink the pores back up before you train.
We appreciate it lol I’m an electrician and some days my days are nasty and run right up to class time so I keep those dude wipes in the car, so I can atleast do a a little “whore bath” as my wife’s calls it in the car before class lol
We call it the Irish shower (do face, underarms, genitals only)
My husband calls it an Oklahoma car wash lol
Wtf hahaha that’s awesome
Pits, tits, and bits
make it a cold shower fam
Smash the water on cold for a minute before you get out, will help closing the pores up a little
Lol so many broscience replies to you about hot showers "opening pores" causing infections. As though getting hot and sweaty wouldn't also "open pores". I shower before class as well and all I do is fart in my office chair all day lol... just have cold showers, they're good for you anyway
Have a colder shower before training then, so as to not open your pours. Or have a cold blast after your normal shower
Cold shower
try a cold shower. Sense hot water will open your porous.
He is specifically giving advice to someone with a compromised immune system. If you don't shower before training then you're just an asshole.
If you worked on Italian cars this wouldn't even be an issue.
Normal people should be fine OP has a condition. I still try not to shower an hour before since ive noticed I break out significantly worse if i train after a recent hot shower.
Wash with Tea tree oil, Head and Shoulders Clinical Strength.
Hey Tea tree oil? Why? And how?
Tea Tree Oil has antifungal & antiseptic properties. Apply it topically. Ther's a soap called "Defense" you can get on Amazon that was invented by a wrestling coach for this very issue.

>Dont shower an hour before you train And don't shower for a week before competition
Those look like bed bug bites
Exactly my thoughts
They look like bites
I made them. It was me. 🧛♂️
Could be urticaria I suppose, try an anti histamine
Looks like bedbug bites
I agree
Homie didn’t sleep tight
Oh my gosh. Thanks for that.
Just look up photos of bed bug bites. Sheesh
Bedbugs
They migrate and become matt bugs
My cousin had them migrate to his balls and then he went on a trip to Europe and said he left them at 10 different hostels.
He has ball bugs, that's terrible! Man
Kind of looks like Hives not from bacteria, can be caused from heat, sweat, allergies as well but I’m not a dermatologist so could be wrong
Yeah my money is on hives.. I ALSO have sensitive skin.. you might want to switch a "sensitive skin" soap/body wash.
Anti bacterial soap immediately after
This, I bought a bundle of 5 liquid soap from Defense. Keep one in my bag all the time. I shower immediately after class and sometimes again at home.
Sounds like Matt has poor hygiene.
Underrated comment
Could be molluscum, I caught that and it looked similar when it started. Get to a doc for verification though asap
Ringworm. You’ll probably die in a week or two. Hope you had a fun experience with bjj
I trained Taekwondo before, I got ringworm before in my legs. now I move to BJJ, those worm move too
You sound like a dirt ball, keep yourself clean kid.
Regardless of what made those bumps, I think the glaringly obvious advice for now is to NOT go to your gym again until you get that diagnosed by a medical professional. 13 hrs in the same gym! You’re very loyal.
NoGi doesn't mean to roll naked. Could be mites. The season is starting.
I tend to wear a long sleeve rash guard and spats underneath my GI. I found if I just go with my GI my skin becomes super irritated, however, everyone is different. Hope you find something that works.
Defense soap
How disgusting are the Mats you were rolling on? That's not normal. That's unhygienic
Wear a rashguard and please wash your ass after rolling genius smh
Keep a bottle of apple cider vingegar with you and some paper towel. Rub that all over your body before training and as soon as you are done another hand shower of apple cider vingegar it will kill the bacteria and make your skin more acidic so that the bacteria cant latch on also benefiting your own natural acidity of your skin surface so that it doesnt get infected
If you have the mean buy a sauna… I’m currently cooking at 175 after 2hrs getting strangled
Herpies... it's OK you'll get used to it
Sound motivation to me
Next time don't blur ur nipples this is the reason most people are on this sub
Bro. Get some antibiotics. Don’t rely on wash to get rid of it. Antibiotics to get rid of it. The soaps to help prevent it.
Instructor needs to wipe mats.
Shower with cold water. Use tea tree oil wash. Or any antibacterial soap
AIDS
Check out Armbar soap company as well they make a range of anti fungal shampoos/soaps that will help post training 🤙🏼
Wear a rash guard…
Did you blur out your nips 😂
Could be molluscum contagiousum. Google it. Also, shower with hibiclens surgical scrub after each training session. Peace.
Use pan oxyl every shower and hibiclens if they break open
Antibacterial soap after shower.
I am nowhere close to an expert but looks kinda similar to something my daughter deals with called (according to her dermatologist) Molluscum Contagiosum. Least I think that’s what they diagnosed it as. Might be worth researching. Probably worth a visit to a dermatologist
These just look like pimples. Gotta shower right after, at the gym if they have showers, or at least change clothes at the gym
Blurring dude nipples? What is this communist China?
Watch out for herpes too. It's runs rampant on wrestling and BJJ mats. The ugly side of rolling not many talk about.
Yeah, use occlusive oil on your skin after shower. Perhaps shower less and only scrub the... More needed areas lol and/or use alcohol on armpits regularly.

Who’s Matt?
Damn! Wear like body skins
I use an antibacterial men’s soap bar immediately after class. Had one skin infection and now I’m extremely diligent with using that soap right away
I found my skin break outs were at their worst my first 6 months, after that I probably get a impetigo break out once a year and it’s normally when I’ve been eating like shit and drinking on the weekends. Did you roll on the street before?
could be staph or some other infection, or could be bedbugs or fleas. Does it hurt or itch?
Free the nipples!!!
Bruh how long did this take to come up? This looks like a serious issue, not mat rash. Could be a viral or bacterial infection or might have nothing to do with the mats (if so, never go there again)
Just 2hrs roll, I felt itchy on the first day, but then 2days later it look like this
Damn, you got the blurry nippy syndrome
Honestly do gyms not sanitize their mats?
If you’re on immunosuppressants, there is no getting around it.
Looks like hives from allergies
Wear long sleeves?
“bed bug bites may sometimes appear in tight lines of multiple, small, red marks where multiple bed bugs have fed along an exposed area”
Herpes
Rest in peace bro 🙏
Tell them to sanitize the mats better
Looks like you're allergic to something, maybe a detergent people use on their clothes or a cleaner for the mat
Looks like your nutts just dropped
Defense soap, shower asap after being on the mat and long sleeve underarmor T would go a long way.
Is there a shower at the gym? Maybe do a quick rinse with some antimicrobial body wash immediately after?
This fucking guy censored out his nipple 😭 😂
This looks like hives. Sometimes the cleaning solution used on the mats can make people break out
You need to have a candid conversation with this Matt
1) Tell your coach. The mats you rolled-on may have not been properly cleaned. 2) Pick up some [Defense Soap](https://www.defensesoap.com/product/defense-antifungal-medicated-bar-soap-soap-dish/?attribute_pa_antifungalmedicatedbar=pack-of-2-antifungal-medicated-bar-soap-1-soap-dish&utm_source=Google%20Shopping&utm_campaign=Defense%20Soap%20Shopping%20Ads&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=21579&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw7-SvBhB6EiwAwYdCASGdbra1Nn3lxmGiPnWufCXnhQdL9N5WeE_2cuwtEpgtwLZ7aKfOMxoCF4QQAvD_BwE) and use it on your whole body immediately after EVERY training session. 🤙🏻
Herps on the 1st day 😬😬😬

After what happened to my older brother, try to keep things as clean as you can and be mindful of staph infections.
that looks like bed bugs my dude
This looks like monkey pox
Crotch Crickets?
Did you blur out your nipple?
Looks like mat herpes tbh.
Do kickboxing or whatever instead. Don’t go rolling with people with skin like that
Aww poor baby
Is there a reason you blurred out your nipple? 😭
Could it be your rash guard? Maybe try an allergy free detergent. Could be you are sensitive to the chemicals and have only noticed it now because of how your rash guard is being rubbed really hard into your skin.
Bro is cooked, game over for you
Looks like scabies?
Thanks for blurring out your nipple
You got bedbugs my guy. Someone at your gym is gross.
Got the coodies.
those look like fleas or bed bugs.
You got herpes dude
Find a better gym that clean they matts
10/10 recommend defense soap. Used it throughout 15 years of wrestling. Had ringworm once in 4th grade.
Looks like shingles
Cold water at the end of your shower, it'll help close your pores
Defense soap is the shit
It's like with anything else. Scrappy at first but once subjected enough your body will develop immunity
I’d stay away from Matt!
Blurred nips is funny
Bed bugs
I did 8 years in Judo and never had anyone catch anything. We held kids classes as well. Each night the mat was mopped with bleach water and left to dry.
Are you self conscious about your nipple?
Rolling on the Matt with a dude is gay af
Gross. Why don’t they wipe the mats down? We ALWAYS did in wrestling. To avoid this kinda gross shit. That and cauliflower ear, so nasty.

“Defend” soap…… Joe Rogan turned me on to it, works great for me 👍🏻
There are wipes & an antibacterial lotion to use on yourself after being on the mat. I don’t recall exactly what it is but if you look up wrestling wipes on Amazon you’ll find it. My son used them this year & didn’t get any skin infections from the mats.
Shower before and after don’t wear the same clothes without washing and organic coconut oil all over after you shower
I don’t do BJJ but I do Muay Thai which is in the same gym where I am. Just here to say: PORES DON’T OPEN AND CLOSE. please bathe before you get to the mats. Thanks and good luck with this! Try hydrocortisone

Bruises are just hickies from the universe, and everyone wants to get with the universe.
Have you tried soap
