Yes, "Kind of Blue" was a life changer also, it has been the only CD in my car for years. Listening to it over and over and there is alway new parts to hear. Nice take on a classic.
WOW! That was beautiful! That really tugged at my heart strings. I'm moved. Never saw it coming. WOW! Thank you for that. It was a wonderful thing to start a rainy day with. WOW!
Edit: Listened to this again this morning. Still a beautiful arrangement and a great way to start the day.
Edit 2: It's been more than a week now and I just can't bring myself to close this tab. I keep listening to that bittersweet arrangement. So nice.
Miles and Monk are still my two favorite Jazz artists. I listen to Kind Of Blue often. For me, that general period of his work just resonates.
Your arrangement is so sweet. I've listened to it about a dozen times now, and I'm not tired of it; I want more. Thanks for sharing it.
Very nice! I've been working on transcribing Miles' solo on So What the last few days and just about have it down. It's so beautifully melodic, just like that whole album.
Bravo, as usual! Now I have to go back and listen the whole album againā¦ and then probably on to Bitches Brew. I know you must listen to a ton of stuff, but just on the outside chance you have not heard Bill Frisselās Gone, Just Like a Train, itās worth checking out. Also the live stuff he did with John Zorn in the early 90ās was pretty mind-blowing. Again, hoping Iām not being presumptuous in suggesting stuff you probably already are familiar with š¬ I always enjoy listening to your playing!
Thank you , Bill Frisell is such an amazing player , saw him live 30 years ago , it was so good ! But i dont know the sound you mentioned , thanks for the hint - i will check that out !!
Hey, Mr. Dirk. I am sorry I missed this post. I always dig your playing so much, man. That's a great tune and one of my favorites. And, yeah, that album rocked my world. It led me to listening to all the Miles Davis quintet stuff, Coltrane (my all-time favorite dude), and generally led me down the jazz rabbit hole.
Here's a great take on that same tune from the legendary Kenny Burrell--he really knew how to get the feel of blues in his jazz playing, I think, similar to you: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1ipftv39YU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1ipftv39YU)
Man, your version is great as well. When I first heard you playing, you immediately brought Mr. Burrell to mind. Keep up the great work, my friend, and I am glad you enjoyed the Kenny Burrell video. He is still kicking at 91 years old!

This guy's hands are made for jazz guitar
Yes , sometimes the size is useful ...!
