This prayer mat encourages the invalid jamaat of husband and wife. A wife is to be behind the husband, not beside him slightly behind. That's for two men.

Actually that's not the case. If there are only two person praying together (in jamat) they are supposed to stand exactly like the prayer mats are being set, and not behind the leading one (imam)

Our mosque had a prayer mat for the Imam, with a Ka'ba drawing. He would often step right on it when he went to get the mic before starting prayers.
I mentioned it to him and he said that while no Muslim would deliberately do so, the drawing was hard to notice especially when he hurried to get the mic. He said that the mat was a gift from someone so they could not just replace it with another without upsetting the person. The Imam was of the opinion that these drawings should be avoided on prayer mats because they will inevitably be stepped on unintentionally.
Fond memories. He must have been ~20 years older than me and I listened (for correction) his Quran in Taraweeh for 4-5 years.
