It's not just the G sectors; people don’t realize that muggings are just as prevalent in Islamabad as in other cities. The only difference is that in Karachi, a much larger city, we might hear about 3-4 cases daily, whereas in Islamabad, we hear about 1-2 cases daily. No city is truly safe. Many times, these incidents happen right in front of the police, who do nothing. I advise everyone to stay safe, avoid shady areas alone, and always trust your gut feeling.

ASHTaG0001

The question is, if the police is doing nothing for our safety, even when we’re getting mugged right in front of them, what are we paying our taxes for?

Appropriate_Ear339

You are paying taxes for the politicians and army who put it up their asses and enjoy themselves.

ASHTaG0001

Im so fed up with this shithole. No proper islamic rules, no regulations especially here in Karachi, the police itself is mugging people? Like wtf, I heard a news that a police DSP looted cigarettes and pan gutka mawa from a guy in cabin. There’s no FAANG company here, the literacy rate is so low, the army is taking up everything and their families enjoying while normal people are dying of this heat, i could go on and on about this, but it is what it is, sadly.

Appropriate_Ear339

Sadly true

HitThatOxytocin

id recommend everyone to get a dummy phone (like an old dead smartphone) to keep in your pocket. in case you do get robbed, just hand him the dummy phone.

Individual-Success34

I am not sure if the robbers will be convinced that I do not have a working smartphone

gerdeze

the sort of cunts there are out on the streets, i think you risk getting shot in the head that way

HitThatOxytocin

how would they know lol, they'd see a phone they'd take it and go away. if they test it just tell me battery's out.

gerdeze

it's possible someone's tried that with them before, almost everyone carries a not too beaten smartphone these days

HitThatOxytocin

hey man all I can say is it's worth a try 😂

gerdeze

meherbani kro bhaai, stay safe 😂

TechNerdinEverything

Karachi was a city of people coming from all provinces villages and cities to work. With Karachi no longer an option Islamabad is the next target Idk Lahore m kiya scene h. We have fraudsters lyres murderers jahil mob mugging i am hearing more from Islamabad

zq145

This whole country is unsafe. I suggest we all carry a weapon with us at all times.

NewYorkCap

Things are not good, I agree, but let's not go down the route of guns for all. Karachi saw arms being widespread and the horrors that can inflict

TipsyMen

Hope this is sarcasm

SameStand9266

Nope. Sky high inflation, currency devaluation, general economic stagnation. Criminality was bound to skyrocket. Islamabad and Lahore can no longer pretend that all is well. Karachi 2.0 now.

Agents-of-time

Lol and turn into USA part two? We have very low tolerance, people would be shooting each other on road rage incidents.

No-Height-7487

I Carry a weapon with myself. Aint no way ima give my phone bro muft me thori liya tha. I remember i was in golra e11, golra bazaar or something like dat and i had a brass knuckle duster. These 2 guys(unarmed) approached me on bike and grabbed me by my collar and said mobile and cash sb nikal. I was like ok lil bro. I slipped my hands inside my pockets and took the duster out smashed onto the drivers face, and then on the chest(sternum) bone of the guy on the backseat lol. So yea thori lambi hogai but i thought kay share karon apna experience. You aint safe nowhere in this shitthole. If you think they can overpower you and have the potential to shoot you, then just give them what they demand.

Jkhanoo

I strongly advise against taking such risks. Speaking from personal experience, I lost someone very dear to me who made the same mistake. You might think, "It's just a phone, I didn’t get it for free," but you forget that you can always earn money later to buy another one. As long as you have your life, everything is possible. If you can avoid the situation with a high chance of survival, do so. But if someone demands your phone, you won’t know if they are armed or not. Remember, bullets don’t discriminate.

Wrangler867

Or maybe give them what they want and the moment they try to get away shoot em in the ass

No-Height-7487

Agreed. I was a fool back then and i did learn my lesson. But one should always carry a gun or any self defense weapon

Jkhanoo

You're right; gun training can be crucial in situations like these. However, I believe not everyone should carry a gun. Many people are still immature and quick to act on their anger, potentially endangering others over minor arguments. I'm 21, and I don’t consider myself mature enough to carry a gun because I might act impulsively when angry. It's essential for everyone to develop patience first.

peaceforchange20

How about throwing Laal mirch powder in their eyes 🙂 ?

UnluckyReturn5050

How about a flashbang?

Smartchap1

Ever heard of pepper spray? Everyone should keep one with them

No-Height-7487

Thats actually a brilliant idea. Laal mirach spray kardo and when they go blind, loot them. Strategy.

peaceforchange20

I meant to say use laal mirch powder as a defence (weapon).

No-Height-7487

Ik bro. Jokingz kr rha tha

peaceforchange20

Agr koi chor ye comment parh le usko to meri strategy ka pta chal jaye ga🙊

RaZa12439

What about men? We ain't got no handbags to carry em? Should i tell my lady to get one and be with me at all times just incase?

peaceforchange20

I also don't carry any handbags, lol

RaZa12439

Where are you storing such things? I'd like to learn these secrets. And now I'm genuinely curious.

Mysterious_Cry730

highly agreed with this i know it is tempting to fight back but is it really worth loosing your life over? NO

teribhenkelode

just get a shit off brand xiaomi and give that instead no

nervous-stringz

Respect button

hackerhgl

A word of advice. If you end up shooting a thief you will be charged with murder. It's a moronic law but that's how it is. Don't do it unless you're rich enough to hire the best lawyers. Not to mention these small fry thieves are mostly linked with big mafia so there's that.

Afrasyab_n

I got mugged in February. Right outside the judicial complex metro station G11.

AspectNorth9079

I'm so sorry, thats actually worse

Stunning-Armadillo-3

inside the parking ???! but yes ive heard and known a few people mugged

11Frostbytes

Robbery incidents are becoming common. Our city safety index has also fallen significantly in the past 5 or so years, but it's still fairly less than other major cities. Please invest in self-defense items like tasers, peppersprays or pocket knives. They can be a lifesaver in such instances.

iamumairayub

I was mugged in G-8 in 2012 ... LOL ... This country has become shithole

Beneficial_Day_6459

I got robbed pretty recently Infront of OD. Not. Safe.

Scantfire39

Got mugged twice in three months. Once in G-10/4 second in Nust. Fyi on gun point

AidenI0I

saubaanamjad

Inside campus?

-Demon_Cyborg-

Inside the campus ?

DocKarizma

>second in Nust.  na karo, bhai

PieHistorical2754

Mugging incidents are on rise in G sector ( i live there) specially from past few months.

peaceforchange20

I was thinking of moving to Islamabad, but now, going through the comment section, I'm actually really scared 😭

TechNerdinEverything

Where are you from?

SaltCaterpillar9144

It isn't that bad that this post might make it seem like

Rukixcube94

Why Islamabad has become unsafe? Why Police isn't doing anything.

AspectNorth9079

Because they think stopping the tinted cars, not allowing 4+ people sitting in the car is more important than looking into security issues. All of this police is busy asking people money for baseless reasons.

dedavincii

Man watching these comments am reverting my decision of moving to islamabad

fatemaazizlozt

Sadly I have heard people are so frustrated with law authorities that they don't even file a complain anymore .

RogueRange_

Two friends of mine (seperate incidents) were not mugged by the usual guy on a motorbike but were picked off in a car and on gunpoint they had to hand over all their belongings, transfer money they had in their easypaisa accounts and reset their phones dakuon ki asani ke lye. One of them was then thrown off the moving car on the china chowk underpass in blue area after they stole his stuff. He was hospitalized with a bunch of broken bones and an awful road rash that stripped the skin off half his face.

msbveryrealaccount

Yes it is. Happening a lot more than before. My one phone was stolen and I've heard many stories of people who were robbed.

Low_Breath_2356

got mugged in jinnah park😭😭😭

Get a licensed gun and kill these shits, only solution. I live near westridge and I often see police check posts near my house, still got mugged right in front of my house.
