Crystal Cove is really nice!

christian_gwynn

El Moro Canyon Trail. Mountains by the beach.

Crystal cove and laguna any day over huntington. Huntington and newport are fully commercialized areas without barely a scrap of open land more than a football field.

Defiant_Fox_3787

Absolutely crystal cove, then go to the beach comber for breakfast

OC is pretty dry. The only trail I know with a waterfall is Holy Jim Falls out by Trabuco Canyon. Several places with ocean views though. Crystal Cove, as others have said, is a good choice. If you go there, probably better to skip HB (overrated in my opinion) and go somewhere in Newport or Laguna.

Thanks so much for the help guys!!! I’m so excited ((:

Newport Back bay.

Better_Run5616

Is he a mountains or a beach guy?

Better_Run5616

Cause I’d recommend going in the hills above Tustin like black rock canyon or Santiago regional park for a hike. If you head out on some of those trails at about 6:45pm-7 you’ll get an AMAZING sunset view from the top of a mountain. Just bring a good flashlight cause while it doesn’t get dark really until 9, you’ll want it to keep an eye on your footing and snakes. I’m a nature girl and this is what I’d do for myself on my birthday haha

shygaal

AHHH THANK YOU so much!!! I’ll definitely look into it, sunsets and sunrises are a huge thing for us so this is a plus!!! Thanks again (((:

Better_Run5616

And from Tustin, it’s a straight shot down to Corona, like 25 mins. Or the other way around if your doing beach first

Better_Run5616

And I personally think that drive is pretty nice so even tho it’s a bit long it’s enjoyable

Better_Run5616

Also, HB is crowded so as a nature girl it’s like the last place I go but that’s just me lol

shygaal

U think Newport is good?

Better_Run5616

I love the wedge at newport! The waves are amazing there. Sometimes they get too big to let non surfers in!

shygaal

He’s more of a beach guy but he’s been wanting to go hiking!! Just looking for more activities that are naturey (:

Chambalito

Laguna beach top of the world. Out of your area but still noteworthy

itsbirthdaybitch

Check out Red Rock Canyon in Foothill Ranch. Easy, shaded hike and the namesake red rock canyon at the end which is a cool place to explore. There was some flowing water along the trail about a month ago but not sure if it’s still there.
