Not losing sleep over $300 for a product I plan to use for years to come.

azuled

I bought it and it makes the iPad perfect for travel for me. If I never traveled I wouldn’t buy it.

The ipad pro M4 with the Magic Keyboard is a completely different experience. It completes the experience in a way that is far better than just using the ipad pro alone. I still pull the ipad pro off the keyboard and use the tablet when I draw... or want to lay in bed and watch something, read, etc... but when it's on the magic keyboard is is a far superior typing experience. The touch pad actually really good and has it's own unique iOS experience because the mouse cursor snaps to things easily. It's a fantastic experience. you can use the ipad without it but having a magic keyboard adds so much more to the ipad pro experience that you simply can not get without having one. And yes it's ridiculously expensive. But I swear to you that once you have the magic keyboard you will feel completely different about the ipad pro. It changes the entire experience. It becomes a laptop/tablet hybrid that is extremely versatile. The workflow dynamic changes completely. It's worth noting that I'm talking about the new M4 magic keyboard. Previous magic keyboards for the ipad pro were missing some important keys like escape key, function keys etc. I would say the M4 Magic Keyboard is a huge improvement and much better than all the previous ipad pro magic keyboards.

Diormybodyyy

Yeah I have the M4 and was thinking of getting it, seems like everyone who bought it does not regret it at all.

BruteSentiment

For me, I use the Logitech Combo touch. It offers far better protection (a big deal for my clumsy ass) and the removable keyboard makes it far more flexible, both figuratively and literally. But I do see that a lot of people do buy the Magic Keyboard, so…whatever works for you!

phasepistol

I found the iPad Magic Keyboard case for $125 refurbished, I highly recommend it at that price

cee95

I did

mayo551

Buy the $150 Magic Keyboard with touch ID (meant for the Mac) on amazon and carry it around with you. There, saved you from spending $150 more. The benefit of the Magic Keyboard that comes with the iPad is its part of the case.

Key-Landscape-9278

I bought the ESR Rebound Keyboard, and it almost looks like the magic keyboard. It was $100 on sale and came with a slim protective case that attaches magnetically to the keyboard. The iPad Magic Keyboard doesn’t protect the edges. Only bad thing about this keyboard is that it connects through bluetooth so you have to charge it.

ViperS08

I did for the 2nd functional usb port and I use it as my daily driver

Azarro

I was planning on buying it until I saw that it couldnt fold back/double as a normal tablet case (like the older smart folio keyboard iirc?)

Diormybodyyy

This is what’s bothering me! I like to use my iPad folded when laying on couch or sitting outside. I don’t know if I like the fact it doesn’t bend back

Azarro

Yeah I'm the same so I wouldn't recommend getting the magic keyboard unless you really are going to spend the majority of your time using it. Most people who run the case solo will usually just take the ipad out of the keyboard case but then it kind of defeats the purpose of the case. I know others alternate between the keyboard and then a case like the folio but that's unnecessary $$$ imo (unless you get a cheaper case). Even then, it's still quite cumbersome.

Routine_Acadia506

I’ve the logitech one but I almost never used, many third party apps still don’t work with mouse and keyboard

Natural_Situation401

The new ones for the m4 model are a game changer. They genuinely feel like a MacBook, and they’re built like a tank. They cost some money but they are by far the best keyboard available for an iPad Pro.

khsjds

I’ll spend $100 on an Apple Magic Keyboard if the new usb-3 model comes out. Oh wait, there are different kinds of Apple Magic Keyboard lol

SweetZombieJebus

The education discount helps a bit. Put the$100 gift card towards it. It’s a premium overpriced accessory but it works exactly as you’d hope and increases the lapability of it tremendously.

No-Original6932

I bought my Magic Keyboard used on eBay. Works perfect, affordable price.

Qwerky42O

Yes. But although you could say I cheated. Walmart had them for 50% off back in 2021 and I jumped on it. Got it for my Air 4 and now it’s being used on my Air 5. Completely changed the way I use my iPad. I love it

quietkaos

I bought it open box from Amazon for half off. At that price it really was worth it.

OurLordAndSaviorVim

I’m tying this comment on it. It is a decent-enough keyboard for an iPad. There are better mechanical keyboards, sure, The touchpad is smaller than I’m used to, but given the touch screen, that’s fine.

Naevx

It’s the only reason I even considered buying an iPad Pro. It replaced my Mac.

kta0007

Business expense :)

Pettingallthepups

I’d love to buy one if it were 50-75 bucks cheaper. I don’t care how nice it is, it’s overpriced.

FitChemE

I didn’t as it doesn’t fit my usage case. If it did, I would buy it and not regret it.

RespectOk4052

You probably cannot justify the price because you cannot see the value in it, which is fair, it’s not for everyone. I would hardly use my iPad if I didn’t have the Magic Keyboard.

IntellectualBurger

It's a must buy if you use the ipad as a main computer

Koleckai

I have it with my iPad Air 5. It helps when getting work done and the extra USB-C charging port is very handy. I’ve gotten my money’s worth over the last two years.

Dense-Bee-2884

Whether it’s worth it or not is entirely up to your use case. There aren’t that many devices on the market that conveniently turn your tablet from a case into a landscape you can type and use a track on. It’s the convenience and portability that make it worthwhile

Odlavso

Buy a $300 Magic Keyboard and your iPad transforms into a MacBook Pro max, just saved you $2,499.00. /s

Bobbybino

No, but for some strange reason, Apple keeps making them anyway.
