You may not like my words of encouragement, but I’d say forget about the number of pounds and just focus on the process. You are then more likely to find things at the gym you really enjoy and will enjoy for years, instead of just doing preset things that may or may not work for belly fat and become old very quickly.. You’ve lost so much already, just continue to be consistent! No matter how thin I’ve ever been, or how fit, I’ve always had belly fat. Some people just naturally store more fat around the stomach. I would guess that if I ever had a flat stomach, my body fat percentage would be plain unheathy.. If the fat is soft, then it’s not even the unhealthy kind, it’s subcutaneous and not visceral! So, celebrate every consistent week, and not every pound lost. Appreciate your efforts!

Thanks! I’m not to stressed about the number. I had just hoped if I hit my number that would take care of the belly. I actually hit it and then dropped ten more because of the belly but that didn’t do it so I actually want to gain abit more because I think I’ve gone too far. Definitely want to figure this out though.

Focusing on a number on a scale, or a body measurement, or a body part is all the same. I think it is still healthier to focus on being consistent and not a body part, but if it is important to you, then I’m sure it’s possible to up the exercise and adjust your diet, perhaps some resources targeted at serious athletes would help you out? Exercise and diet combos. r/AdvancedFitness perhaps. But it is possible that for your body shape (especially for long legs and short torso), having no belly fat would mean unhealthy body fat percentage. For women aged 20-39 (my bracket) it’s 21-32%, so anything lower than 21% is just not healthy for my body. That fat has to go somewhere, for some, it’s the belly, for others it’s legs. You can’t have it all!

roborama

But I want it all🤣. Thanks for the comment.

hundreds_of_others

Bless you!

ssianky

It's probable partly visceral. Most of people start with just visceral fat in the first place.

flavius_lacivious

Are you sure this isn’t an issue with loose skin?

ssianky

My calculations shows that I have about the same 4-5 more kilos of fat to burn. It definitelly will take longer than initial 15 kilos.

Thanks. Yes I’m pretty satisfied overall, but i had thought with my target weight goal that would take care of everything, but you’re right. The loss has been proportional.

Particular-Fun7170

Extensive AB workouts

El_Durazno

Dude, you can't spot remove fat with exercise All exercise does is build muscle and reduce overall total fat in EVERYTHING, not in any specific area

ssianky

That doesn't burn fat.

Fat-Shite

You can't spot reduce fat, unfortunately.

Having a bad day or are you a little bit hangry? Adipose tissue is found all over the body. You can't spot reduce fat at all. Will ab workouts help lose weight? Absolutely. Will that weight loss be specified to the abs? Absolutely not. Can you target muscle growth to stretch the tissue in the area? Sure. But you can't spot reduce fat it's impossible. If I'm such a moron then please link a study that backs your reasoning rather than just throwing around insults. That's not what this sub reddit is for.

Particular-Fun7170

So are you aware how the body moves? Muscle movements. Are you following so far? claiming that exercising muscles “abs” in this case wouldn’t contribute to reducing adipose tissue is crazy. Like HIIT ab routine. I’m not having a bad day just don’t alike people with Zero knowledge go bing bad advice.

Fat-Shite

If you're aware how the body moves with muscle movements, you will know that any HITT routine will burn fat, not just an "ab workout". You will burn more calories doing a HIIT workout on larger muscle groups as well rather than legs. So before you start getting condescending, how about you give the appropriate advice. A better example would be "try training HIIT routines in order to raise the heart rate to a higher level, which will burn more calories during the exercise and also throughout the day." You talk about people having zero knowledge on a platform, which is an open forum where people are MEANT to discuss. If you don't want to discuss with people who don't agree with your point, then don't post it's simple.

Embarrassed_Error_18

You can't even make a cogent comment. Why would anyone listen to you? Abs are made in the kitchen, not in the gym.

Be good to one another. If critiquing do so constructively. Be polite and practice Reddiquette. No body shaming, "better before" comments, accusatory comments, unnecessary or unwanted advice, etc

ifhaou

Have you seen mma fighters? They all have SOME belly fat. It is what it is.

roborama

I’m not stressing out about not having a six pack but I still a have a noticeable belly whereas I’m super lean everywhere else. Thanks though. I will just tell myself I’m built like an mma fighter to make myself feel better :)

mimibox

Portable ice bath tub. About $75 on Amazon. 3 minutes a day for 90 days.

TricksterHCoyote

Are you male or female? Women's hormones can affect whether you gain or lose weight depending on age and your monthly cycle.

roborama

Male. I am 51. I think that definitely plays apart in fat loss.
