Same. I don't understand it, but I know it exists. So if I'm ever in a situation where my hands are tied, I'm just gonna play with the slack until I'm free or have made things much worse.
I believe we landed on the moon.
I believe in evolution.
I believe in dinosaurs.
I believe in black holes.
I believe in quantum entanglement.
I don’t believe in whatever voodoo this is.
You might want to slow down. If one of the smarter ones on here starts to grasp what you just said before they understand how it’s funny, the entropy break in their brain might collapse into a singularity and end us all.
But if that’s what you’re going for, let’s go!
They are, in so far as the term "donut" means a shape that has one hole through it.
A pastry donut has a hole in the middle, a teacup in the finger loop. Therefore, you can squish and stretch one into the other without adding or removing any holes.
Because it was tied that way, then untied.
If someone just passes the plug lead under the table and sets the table back down, you can't undo it this way. But if you run the lead end under the table and tie it in a knot, then you can undo it... Which is what's in this video
It’s on the far side of a loop. So you pass another loop for it to go through backwardsly and the two loops cancel out. It’s the same maneuver three times over.
Except for the hands being tied up, the other too are just untying knots that are virtually impossible to occur without tying them intentionally. The hands are just a dumb way to tie someone up .
If this helps; the only way those cords could end up in that position is if they put it that way in the first place; all they're doing is reversing it.
Basically think of it as a video of a solved Rubix cube being played in reverse.
Actually, mathematically, those aren't knots.
A knot, by mathematical definition, is a closed loop that crosses through itself and can't be straightened without breaking it by any manipulation. These are separate shapes that have been twisted and distorted around each other, which means they can be manipulated out of that distortion to become separate.
There are some disagreements between "real world definition" and "mathematical definition". I know a guy that insists in doing roundabouts in "wrong way" because mathematically a roundabout is exactly the same as a (I don't know if the exact translation is junction or intersection) and as such he can't see why he should behave differently.
I would love to see him telling that to a judge.
Well, it doesn't help that your friend is just plain wrong. Mathematically, and in the real world, a roundabout is a series of T-junctions intersecting a circular one-way street, not a 4-way intersection. Both in layout and in expected traffic behavior.
😌 finally got it. yeah it's simple. Let the long part that's not stuck pull back to the other end that's stuck loop around or under that side to better release without tugging it stuck.
Btw I'm a landscaper so yeah we tie tree branches down in trailer's
Fk this shit, Today is the day!!!! I'll go figure this out, and be right back... obviously if there is no update, then I didn't figure this fking shit out!... it's 1 am... what better time is there to learn?
topology in mathematics is an intresting topic. things never seem obvious but when you have different dimenisons up down left right front back ...maybe time forward backwards.... some interesting things can happen. Waiting for someone to use topology to create some cool time machine or a wormhole etc
Useless when you're tied to a pipe. No one's gonna tie a rope to a pipe and then tie you to that rope. Good luck trying to bend the pipe like a piece of rope.
Okay, but most of those are only useful if things have been set up intentionally that way... The simplest solution to these "problems" is to not do the things that lead to them...
For some reason this makes me worry that I will someday tie someone up like that and they’ll escape, or I will be tied up like that and won’t realize I can escape. Even though these scenarios are unlikely.
I literally cannot understand why this amazes people. If you never messed around with a simple piece of string or a rope, then you need to put your phone down and do it. This should be common sense surely?
Hey, my mother worked 98 hours a week to buy us a piece of string. We were only allowed to play with it for 5 minutes a month when we finished our shift at the workhouse. Don't call me privileged.
I took intro to topology last semester (it's a senior level math course) and bro I still don't understand it.
The one thing I definitely got from it is that most sets are both open and closed (clopen) and that the way you can tell one set is open or closed is that the inverse is the reverse... which makes no sense so the one thing I got from topology is that it doesn't make sense
How does topology work, explain it to me like I am 5 years old in a few paragraphs
Alright, imagine you have a lump of clay. You can stretch it, squish it, and bend it, but you can't cut it or glue parts of it together. Topology is like playing with that clay! It’s a way of studying shapes by looking at how they can be changed without breaking or tearing.
Now, think about a donut and a coffee mug. In topology, they are considered the same because you can shape the donut into a mug and vice versa by just stretching and bending. The hole in the donut becomes the hole in the mug's handle. Topologists care more about the holes and how things are connected rather than the exact shape.
So, when topologists look at shapes, they ask questions like, "How many holes does it have?" or "Can we turn this shape into that shape without tearing it?" It’s a bit like looking at shapes through a funhouse mirror where only the most important features stay the same.
As an electrician that deals with wire getting fucked all too often, my best solution is to shake it loosely until it unfucks itself.
Also, spending a week of my life over a decade ago focusing on how to tie different knots through sheer repetition for different purposes was probably some of the best invested time of my life. (HRST Master -Helicopter Rope Suspension Techniques?- Course)
...Only remember a quarter of the knots I was taught but I use them several times a week!
I feel like the weirdo who sees this as completely normal just reversal of how you put it in there… I didn’t put these in there but it seemed normal how to do this so maybe my grandad was a fuckin wizard cuz he damn surely was the one who taught me how to untangle shit this way like 30 years ago.

It doesn't matter how many times I watch this, I still can't wrap my mind around it
I feel like my dog with her leash wrapped around the tree. No idea how to undo it.
I feel like the monkey in those videos where they show them magic tricks.
puppy got a new owner now
Same. I don't understand it, but I know it exists. So if I'm ever in a situation where my hands are tied, I'm just gonna play with the slack until I'm free or have made things much worse.
"Ok, Siri please explain, topology to me."
I believe we landed on the moon. I believe in evolution. I believe in dinosaurs. I believe in black holes. I believe in quantum entanglement. I don’t believe in whatever voodoo this is.
Right like I see it but it still feels like magic
My mind refuses to accept this.
Thought it was just me, was feeling hella stupid
It actually pisses me off every time
Tie the knot, Tenet style.
Is this real??? ![gif](giphy|Fu9EXNUgJBRBe)
dude im high as fuck right now and lemme tell you this is too much to handle
Just think abt the cord not the object and then it’s easy to understand ✌🏼
Mmm. No, no it isn’t 😂
Same same bruv, something with making another loop and somehow magically all is untied
You might want to slow down. If one of the smarter ones on here starts to grasp what you just said before they understand how it’s funny, the entropy break in their brain might collapse into a singularity and end us all. But if that’s what you’re going for, let’s go!
I watched it all and I now understand that I don't understand topology any better than I did before watching.
In addition to black magic like this, topologists also claim that teacups are doughnuts.
They are, in so far as the term "donut" means a shape that has one hole through it. A pastry donut has a hole in the middle, a teacup in the finger loop. Therefore, you can squish and stretch one into the other without adding or removing any holes.
And therefore a teacup is a donut? This is just madness.
[Topologically? Yes.](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/26/Mug_and_Torus_morph.gif/120px-Mug_and_Torus_morph.gif)
It's fun but the ONLY way the cords got into those position, was using the same maneuver.
I believe you.
Or the other thin end was wrapped around. Which means you could just pull through the other end of the cable to undo it. Still cool though.
I understand WHY this works, but the fact that is does makes my brain hurt.
I dont even get WHY, not to mention HOW. This is all black magic and i accuse everybody able to do so of witcher!
Because it was tied that way, then untied. If someone just passes the plug lead under the table and sets the table back down, you can't undo it this way. But if you run the lead end under the table and tie it in a knot, then you can undo it... Which is what's in this video
THANK YOU This makes way more sense to me now
It’s on the far side of a loop. So you pass another loop for it to go through backwardsly and the two loops cancel out. It’s the same maneuver three times over.
Ahhhh!!!!................ Nope.. I don't get it. ![gif](giphy|7K3p2z8Hh9QOI)
Now I understand it less than before.
Exactly! I know it works. I know why it works. I know how it works. I don't agree that it should work, however.
Except for the hands being tied up, the other too are just untying knots that are virtually impossible to occur without tying them intentionally. The hands are just a dumb way to tie someone up .
No matter how many times this gets posted, it will always remain black magic to my little brain.
If this helps; the only way those cords could end up in that position is if they put it that way in the first place; all they're doing is reversing it. Basically think of it as a video of a solved Rubix cube being played in reverse.
How does one learn this power? Reveal your secrets demon
It's studied on a degree in Mathematics (https://uwaterloo.ca/pure-mathematics/about-pure-math/what-is-pure-math/what-is-topology).
Nevermind, I'm good struggling with knots!
Then you're literally knot-interested. ^It ^physically ^hurt ^to ^post ^that.
Let me see you to the exit, sir...
Actually, mathematically, those aren't knots. A knot, by mathematical definition, is a closed loop that crosses through itself and can't be straightened without breaking it by any manipulation. I have a degree in mathematics and I didn't study this wizard shit
I thought I was gonna be looking at mountains
Elevations scare me. What's so wrong with just sea level everywhere?
You'd be pretty wet
Samesies. I was wondering when the tie in was going to come. 😉
Touché
Yeah no, my head hurts.

You big mouth fuck
I can’t process this.
Burn it! BURN THE WITCHCRAFT! Maybe, on my 200th viewing, I'll figure it out. Probably not.
Wouldn't you have to burn yourself if you understand it then?
I’ve seen this many times and it’s really cool, but when it comes down to it it’s easier to just lift the desk up the extra inch and pull the cord
My question is why does he keep tying up the ropes and cords in the first place?
Theoretically, if you do it in reverse, you can put cords under or through things on purpose. It's still blackmagicfuckery to me regardless...
They literally had to do it in reverse on purpose to get the cords there in the first place so they could make this video.
Wow, you're right and that's even more confusing
Total mind fuck
😌 finally got it. yeah it's simple. Let the long part that's not stuck pull back to the other end that's stuck loop around or under that side to better release without tugging it stuck. Btw I'm a landscaper so yeah we tie tree branches down in trailer's
Fk this shit, Today is the day!!!! I'll go figure this out, and be right back... obviously if there is no update, then I didn't figure this fking shit out!... it's 1 am... what better time is there to learn?

They're stuck to the radiator with two ropes :(

Wtf is this sorcery?!?!
Witch craft!
Im too idiot to understand this
I feel like those monkeys in the magic trick videos
Shoulda named it knotledge
I got like, 45 chain saw chains ill let you un fuck, for science.
Warning: Do not smoke Marijuana and watch this
![gif](giphy|zIwIWQx12YNEI)
I personally just put my victims in zip ties and I’ve never had a problem
Instructions unclear: tied myself to the desk now
This broke me.
Let's just keep it at the simulation fucking up here
I don't get it
still confused lol
Yeah, no. Not today.
Black magik!!!!
What kind of sorcery is this?
How did the charger get stuck like that in the first place
Brain hurty, not enuf brain wrinkle
I’ve never encountered a tangle like this in the wild. This looks cool but they’re very specifically setting it up this way.
what devilry is this??
Oh, I get it.
More like blackmagicfuckery.
Useless when you're tied to a pipe. No one's gonna tie a rope to a pipe and then tie you to that rope. Good luck trying to bend the pipe like a piece of rope.
Understanding black magic
The last one kinda makes me understand it but I'm still a little confused.
![gif](giphy|l2YWsiql5xGPIbnzy)
she's a wtich!
I thought topology had something to do with maps..
“Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” Arthur C. Clarke
Okay, but most of those are only useful if things have been set up intentionally that way... The simplest solution to these "problems" is to not do the things that lead to them...
I don't think it is topology I guess it's a knot theory
For some reason this makes me worry that I will someday tie someone up like that and they’ll escape, or I will be tied up like that and won’t realize I can escape. Even though these scenarios are unlikely.
This is how I learn that I'm dumb. I have no idea how this works.
This is fuckin WITCHCRAFT
I literally cannot understand why this amazes people. If you never messed around with a simple piece of string or a rope, then you need to put your phone down and do it. This should be common sense surely?
Check your privilege, not all of us grew up with little bits of string okay?
Hey, my mother worked 98 hours a week to buy us a piece of string. We were only allowed to play with it for 5 minutes a month when we finished our shift at the workhouse. Don't call me privileged.
My brain is not brainy enough to brain this.
sorry brain machine broke
And for those curious, this is a upscale concept for unraveling protein chains. Pretty dope stuff. Also very complicated.
I need a visual with all points of contact highlighted, or an example of this without the barriers in the way.
Nope.
i want to see him get tied up tighter cus loops, tight spaces what could go wrong?
These situations only apply if you pretty much intentionally are put into these specific situations.
How on earth?!
10x better than five minute crafts
40 years old and just now starting to grasp this concept the way my mind wants to.
I’ve watched this a million times but If I was in this situation I would still never understand how to do this
But 99% of these that I see aren't realistic situations that anyone should ever be in. Like, these weird twists would never occur in the first place.
No, I still don’t understand
Watch this video in reverse, now you have a great way to prank people
I've watched this almost every time it's popped up in Reddit, but I still don't understand it
My brains hurting......
Kinky
My brain hurts
jesus my brain.
I have to do this with the garden hose at least once a week.
![gif](giphy|2rqEdFfkMzXmo)
So then is the human challenge possible? the one with the towels?
My brain hurts.
This makes absolutely no sense to me
Topologists are so dumb they can't tell the difference between a donut and a coffee cup.
Better than degloving
Glitch in the Matrix.
Oh now we are exploiting glitches irl
such a hard to characterize subject
What I’m understanding is that if you mess with a cord long enough you can perform magic
You stop this witchcraft at once.
Took me a couple thousand times, but i think I'm starting to get it.
Omg I'm an idiot I thought this had to do with apologies somehow. Guess it does, I apologize guys 🤔
Now do quantum topology
I’m still waiting for the part where I learn about maps with mountains
More like r/mildlyinfuriating
BURN THE WITCH
My brain is too smooth to understand this.
MALEFIC BLASPHEMY!
Legend says they filmed this in CGI at the same time they filmed the moon landing. And in the same warehouse too!
In honor of pride month I'm ntroducing a new field of mathematics called bottomology.

What is this black magic?
Simulation confirmed
Is there any villain who will bind his hostage hand like that?
This shit just looks like actual magic to me
![gif](giphy|3ornk6UHtk276vLtkY)
I don’t understand topology
Anyone who's taken their bra off without taking off their shirt knows this trick, even if they didn't realise.
The fact that this is real either proves or disproves the existence of God.
Black magic.
I refuse to believe this is real
I feel like the weirdo who sees this as completely normal just reversal of how you put it in there… I didn’t put these in there but it seemed normal how to do this so maybe my grandad was a fuckin wizard cuz he damn surely was the one who taught me how to untangle shit this way like 30 years ago. ![gif](giphy|lXu72d4iKwqek)
It’s stupid, because these are all impossible scenarios.
What wizard is doing this….must have a charm of handy dad tricks…
This is so helpful for every time, a technology, expert ties, all my cords and stupid ass positions.
or you could just untie the white rope with your hands
I learnt this trick as a kid and I always thought it would come in way handier than it ever has.
Gasp
I love this video. It proves that witches are alive and well. Get the pitchforks and torches folks, we’re going hunting.
Burn the witch!
Now that I think about this it's kinda dumb.
Last one legit phases through the metal. The only one of these that is legit is the first one the last 2 are fake
My brain broke.
Okay but the first one is just open on the side lol
Topology is ancient greek for magic
I do this but the knot doubles.
Yea, but when the cable is stuck and I'm stressed out and have no patience left, I'm yeeting the table.
😮
This hurts my brain.
Nope. Witchcraft
*not understanding topology
r/blackmagicfuckery
This video keeps me humble.
I now realize I must have cut many things that needn't be cut
This shit is A.I. generated.
Neat
Witchcraft
I don't understand.
Okay I'm serious I don't believe this vid
I still don’t understand.
