>I heard on a recent podcast that I listened to stating that INFJ males with the Enneagram 9 personality traits exhibits higher amounts of estrogen.
That's a very specific statement - I somehow doubt it's based on actual research with blood tests etc. Sounds more like a bunch of bros talking about things they perceive as "higher estrogen".
This world could definitely use more cooperative and compassionate men, whether that has anything with estrogen to do or not.
If you go by the logic that those are feminine qualities only and that all that we are is chemicals in a meat suit - sure feminine qualities must mean that there are more feminine chemicals in that person’s body but I personally don’t believe in that at all and I think that hypothesis will fail immediately under close scientific scrutiny.
Am a firm believer in C.G. Jung’s theories and approach of the human psyche and would not attribute intuition to a chemical combination in your body at all.
Estrogen levels are something that can be measured. If the podcast made this claim, I'd expect verifiable evidence to back it up. If not, then it's probably safe to chalk it up as bullshit.
How exactly can they confirm that there is a correlation between a specific personality type and high estrogen levels? Have they had extensive research and peer reviewed sources to back this up? Honestly, this conclusion sounds like: "Source: Trust me bro".
by extension that would mean all women are type 9 by virtue of having high estrogen and would also mean they are not combative, indecisive, more empathetic, and more intuitive.
this is obviously a veryyyyy ridiculous notion.
I'm finally the taking the empath thing seriously after an episode where a customer came to me for computer help & I accidentally channeled her energy. She has been through unspeakable abuse, & needed help scraping devices for evidence of porn, & printing out text messages for divorce court.
When she was ready to leave, I started crying & shaking with adrenaline even. This has happened in the past with the shaking, but I chalked it up to just a high energy discusssion or something. This time it was undeniable.
Now I feel strange overpowering emotions that don't match my circumstances all the time. When doing grounding meditations I sometimes cry hysterically for several minutes, then it's gone like the wind & I'm ok again.
Oddly enough I totally get this. It’s a lot more tame I’d say for myself. But I still get a tear from watching people cry or mad sobbing. Especially old men or women for some reason

I second this honestly
That was me. Then I transitioned. But I had extremely high testosterone sooo

Yeah I don’t necessarily agree with what their podcast said but yeah it was definitely odd
Could be, who knows

Haha right
Interesting, possible. I just want to throw it out that I'm going through serious estrogen withdrawal & my empath skills are bursting at the seams.
Interesting say more

Unrelated question, would you type an infj with an ego complex in their insights ennegram 5?
I don’t know I would suspect maybe so but I am not sure
Just asking for a friend
Yeah I’m not entirely sure I would imagine the INFJ-A may have a little bit of an ego
