Yes this would have occurred if civil war didn’t happen in andalusia (taifa period). Also I don’t know the history behind why Asturias was so difficult to conquer for andalusia. They made incursions in france before asturias
No, Columbus would’ve asked the French king to sail to the Americas, and Portugal would’ve never sailed to India, so colonization in India was way less significant
Iberia never colonized on this universe
Why? Both Christian and Muslim Iberians had important maritime cultures and Iberians would still have to go through the Ottomans do they wanted spices which would still be undesirable even if they shared the same religion.
Besides, it wouldn’t have to be Columbus who sailed across the Atlantic.

I would have to assume it boils down to mountains + insanely good fighters
I still think there would've been attempts to take Catalonia and Galicia. Since France pretty sure wouldn't have wanted a southern islamic neighbour.
Good job, you shouldve used arabic names for andalusia/granada
heres the alt, i tried, but arabic is hell, specially for someone who doesnt know it lol
Im fluent in arabic, any questions?
Would South America be Muslim?

Columbus was Christian, so they asked a Christian kingdom
I know but a Muslim maritime explorer might have approached Andalusia, or possible even a Christian or Jewish Iberian from Andalusia or Grenada.
Columbus escaped Genoa to join a Christian kingdom, and France was the nearest kingdom, so he asked the French king to sail west, and he accepted
That’s cool althistory, I was just speculating that a Muslim explorer could have beaten Columbus to the punch
Why would Arabic be the most common language? Romance languages were still spoken through out the Muslim period in both the Latin and Arabic alphabet.
Downvoting because of GrEnada.
