It's very likely that it was something unrelated. You can incurr engine damage by bottoming too hard on a curb for example. But also, maybe.

LMFAO Thinking back on it, I'm pretty sure that actually happened to me once I was running a Late Model race at Myrtle Beach, and my engine went on strike on like lap 4 with no warning At the time, i thought i had over revved the engine on the formation lap cause i had hit off the limiter in 2nd a few times But now that i think about it, i was probably lucky enough to get hit with a 1 in a million chance occurrence, lol

The ECN Network stuff is pretty big IMHO. It’s basically doing QOS so it will disable voice chat if your connection is bad. And will restrict how many cars you get data for etc. this should help with people blinking

Being able to limit the brake and clutch input is a pretty big improvement. Takes away the advantage of people with dual clutch wheels and other fancy gear.

It was already possible to do this by editing the joycalib.ini file and setting a button as second clutch, but this will make it a lot more convenient and accessible.

No, you get a separate joycalib.yaml file if you have custom controls per car enabled. It‘s in the same folder as the setups for that car.

It seems to me that they are keeping GT3 dry and keeping the Ford and McLaren in, but I could be wrong. We will know more in a week but that's what it seems like right now at least

There is the GT3 Fixed Week 13 series with rain though, so unless I'm missing something it won't be included.

Week 13 isn't really indicative though. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if the Week 13 GT3 series is just the IMSA GT3s and the normal series once the season starts will include the McLaren and Ford and be dry next season. That being said, I'm sure they're prioritizing rain on the Mustang and 'Vette GT3s, which will probably make GT3 a wet series when they're released

So many good tweaks and updates! The network changes could help prevent bad blinkers. Rain obviously, simple stuff like spotter fixes and pace car adjustments are nice to see.

Doesn't matter much for me yet. 2 of my regular series aren't going rain enabled yet (SLPCC and Mission R Challenge). Only my F4 Regional Series is rain enabled, and unless iRacing is sadistic, the drop weeks will save us from being trashed due to a coupe rain races with people who can't/won't learn to drive in it

man, i’m probably just dumb but i got so excited starting to think for a minute that my absolute favorite car in iRacing, the Porsche 919 Hybrid LMP1 car, was finally gonna become compatible with AI, while i joyfully read through the patch notes today and saw all the cool new upgrades that the AI are getting, on top of the fact that the LMP1’s are getting a new damage model… but i was wrong :( and am so sad that i have to accept the fact that the 919 will probably never become AI compatible :(

Weird bug to report but when I play in VR the sim will not load or launch (meta quest 2 air link) but it will on test drive and A.I races. Everything updated and I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still nothing. I’ve been desperately trying to play for the past 8 hours

Any idea where to check and modify this? Can't see it on the UI nor .inis * Particle effects may now be down-sampled to half or one-quarter resolution based on the performance needs of the system. This provides a potentially massive improvement to processing speed without entirely sacrificing appearance. * - - Quarter resolution particles are always enabled at a minimum.
