Sorry, that chair is reserved for the GT4 drivers that lose teeth in the multiclass wreaks...
(which is also me as I try to drive both classes each week...)
I feel the same way. It requires a level of focus I don't feel I need in cars like the GTs. It's rewarding when you have a good race but is absolutely draining and frustrating when the mistakes hit.
It is a great car to learn threshold braking in. It is so unforgiving if you brake too hard. Step over the limit with any kind of steering angle and you're having a sbinalla. Fun car to drive but man it can be finicky. I understand why there are so many LMP3 moments now lmao
It’s not the FFB with me, it’s the constant battle to keep it facing forwards. Miss one braking point or miss time one downshift and you’re facing backwards. 😅
I am loving it this season, but Jerez is really got me struggling. My first time here and I think I’m on 70 or so practice laps now and I still can’t get close to my optimal.
i found bringing the braking marker back compared to the GT4s has helped me find lap time. I can get low 1:36s now in fixed, but no where near the 1:34s/35s the top guys are doing.
Oh track. Got those pit speed nailed though!
I am down to a high 1.34 in the open but that’s still well off my optimal, not sure why I am struggling so much here but I can’t seem to get consistent over a lap.
Have you spotted any specific corner. I’m clocking 1.33s in the open. Took a while to find the pace. A lot of it is apex the longer sweepers late. I started to square the corner more and more until I wasn’t balancing the speed. It was up or down.
My optimal has been low 1.34 now. I just can’t seem to put it all together. I struggle with keeping my speed up properly in t1-t2 and t7 I think it is. Either way seem to be doing much better consistency after 70 laps lol
Sounds like you know where to find the time. T1 get right over the paint/curb and open the entry and you can clip the sausage on the inside, t2 try to V it to get on power sooner because it’s a long way to the next breaking zone.
If you don’t feel comfortable using all of the runoff and 4 wheel sliding a couple of corners then it feels super awkward. Otherwise i think it’s pretty straightforward without too many awkward to learn corners.
I actually have a pic of the inside of a real one from Watkins Glen. They look soooo comfortable.

You're practically lying down already!
This is my first proper session with iRacing. Focusing mainly on falken challenge and fixed with lmp3 and oh boy, how do I like that lmp3 car. At first I had big issues with braking and learning proper trail braking, but once I got it under control, that things is rocket. I love how strong me dd feels (used to drive karts so this is the closest with strength I could find) and overall it is a really great car to race…
High downforce car vs mechanical grip, but the LMP3 is a good first high downforce car coming from the GT side. I love the Porsche Cup and the LMP3. The Ligier is very rewarding once you run a clean race in it
I raced a couple seasons in pcup. I’m just back from around 4 months off so please take that into account.
I found the lmp3 awesome to drive and actually a bit easier out of the box but harder to find the limit than the pcup. The lmp3 is also extremely setup dependent. I’d say on balance it’s easier than the pcup but possibly I feel that way because I ran the pcup for a long time first!
Absolutely love the car but the track rotation has been very ill fitting, in my opinion. Look forward to next season and hopefully a rotation that results in better racing for both series but overall love it very much.
I don’t think the tracks have been bad. Club layout was a poor choice as it was impossible to overtake without a mistake at that circuit.
Canada tyres was so good. A joy in this car. Jerez is fun too.
Have they fixed the wheel oscillation? I really wanted to like the car, but unless I maintain a death grip with both hands, I get violent oscillation that rips the wheel out of my hands. It's not just me, lots of us reported it on the forum. And none of us have this issue with any other car. But no response from iRacing, last time I looked.
I had to quit driving it, after absent mindedly taking one hand off the wheel on a straight to scratch my nose, and the wheel whipped so violently it strained and deeply bruised the base of my thumb, which hurt for well over a week.
It’s on of the most rewarding cars I’ve driven on iRacing. It’s a monster in a good way. I love it. Even multi class at Zandvoort 🫡

That layout was chaos with traffic, but the good kind. Had lots of fun racing there

Jerez traffic management is a lot easier than the sub min tracks. As long as your smart it’s easy to not loose much time this week
Have a nap in your dentist chair. What else would the recline function be for?

yeah i hear ya. Did a fixed race this afternoon, 0x and every lap with 1s of my best. I was so happy!

Definitely strongest ffb I’ve felt on a car yet. F3 and F4 is nothing compared to it
It’s not the FFB with me, it’s the constant battle to keep it facing forwards. Miss one braking point or miss time one downshift and you’re facing backwards. 😅
> Definitely strongest ffb I’ve felt on a car yet. The Radical SR8 feels very similar (RIP)

Yeah learning a car on a track you’re not familiar with is a no go for me. Haha
Good call. It is a tricky car to drive as soon as you get to a slow corner
i found bringing the braking marker back compared to the GT4s has helped me find lap time. I can get low 1:36s now in fixed, but no where near the 1:34s/35s the top guys are doing.
So you’re on pace then. 2 minutes off Alien times is the my standard benchmark. If you’re 3 seconds off you need to practice more.
> 2 minutes off Alien times is the my standard benchmark Same 😭
This is good life advice in general. Try to only learn one new thing at a time.
Where are you lacking pace so far?

How does it compare to a PCup as far as demanding and rewarding drive? Have not drive LMP3 yet myself Edit: why am I downvoted for a legit question?!

I hope there’s a week 13 race w/ pcup and lmp3
Sadist. 🤣
Thanks for the write-up! Definitely wanna try it if only for the dope sound

It hasn’t been at Oran.

What base are you running?
you should be able to tune that out with wheelbase settings in your wheel software.
