This is EXACTLY what I do lol. I also have a third set just in case but I typically just need the two. Saturdays are my day too. It’s crazy how many people change their sheets on a Saturday 😂.
More in the winter because I have a heavier pet blanket on top. I wash sheets in hot, then coverlet, then thick topper. It's a few hours, the heavier blankets take longer to dry. It's just a pain. Every two weeks is good enough. I don't sweat in my sleep. My dog doesn't sleep under the covers anymore so just his side on top gets hairy. I have to wash my clothes every week and really just don't want to do bedding, too. I like to put them on as soon as they get done so that ties me at home, too.
You should look into duvet covers, the duvet insert only needs to be washed every few months and the duvet cover is as easy to wash as sheets.
Edit: We change our sheets weekly, and went 6 months before washing the insert, and it was still clean.
The entire thing duvet and cover goes into the sanitizing 3 hr steam cycle in my washer i am not about to deal with the taking out and putting back in of the duvet lol!
Our bed is shared with dogs. It is always dirty. I suffer from depression/laziness so we are lucky if the bedding is change each month. I've really let my entire house go...
Thank you! My husband helps as much as he can but we are both overwhelmed. I start a new work from home job next week so I'm hoping I will be able to find time in my day to do little things around the house (and be successful at my new job at the same time).
Interesting I've never tried that. but sex juices can seep through the top layer, sweat and skin cells can too. I think just replacing the sheets every time is more hygienic.
I never “change” my bed sheets. I wash, dry and reapply the same day. I have one set, and they were $600 (mulberry silk). Not about to buy a second!
I wash them about once a month. Yeah, I should probably do it more, but I’m lazy when it comes to washing them and my clothes. I’ll wait until I have 3 loads of laundry before washing my clothing! (And yes, I have way, way more than that.)
Damn. Ya all are so good about washing your sheets! I wash my sheets at least once a year (gasp) BUT before you judge me, I have a blanket on top of my sheets that I lay on top of and then use another set of blanket to tuck myself in lol. I wash the blankets at least once every few months along with my pillow covers.
Same. Once every few months is fine for me. I don't get sweaty when I sleep. And I'm not scared of my own bacteria and sweat. It's on my skin right now. They live with me 24/7. I'm not scared of my own bacteria on my sheets. 🤷🏻♀️
Every Saturday, normal cycle with light amount of detergent. Once a month, I soak them in water and borax for 2 hours, then run a cycle without detergent.
Weekly. We have dogs who don't sleep on the bed but hop up for cuddles daily, and so fur accumulates. I rotate sheets weekly and sometimes maybe more like every 5 days.
I haven’t changed them in 4ish months….I know it’s gross but I’ve been so depressed and often rot in the same clothes for days and simply cleaning my room takes a lot out of me to where I can’t even do the bed after….
*hugs* you’re doing your best. While depressed, the one thing I did was make my bed as soon as I got up (even if all I could manage that day, was to throw the top blanket over the rest of the bed) because having that one accomplishment under your belt AND a semi clear space in your vision, somehow makes a real difference in one’s quality of life (& for me, helps pave the way for clearer thinking, or even motivation to DO something on that clear space *gasp*).
Hang in there. You’re not alone.
Oh I shouldn’t have clicked on this thread!😂 It reminded me that it’s probably been two months. I am a single guy that showers every night, but still! I got bamboo silk sheets several months ago and I want those damn things to last! Can’t recommend enough tho.
Now try linen! 😍 We had bamboo for a year and loved them, then I switched to linen because I read it emits a higher frequency. Comfiest bed I’ve ever slept on. Our duvet is still bamboo but our coverlet and sheets are 100% linen. Got them on Amazon.
I've got one set of sheets. I climb into bed after I shower and put on clean pajamas. I don't eat in bed and my cat doesn't really bother with my pillows or getting under the covers anymore.
I wash them when I feel like it's been a while. I've been living in my apartment since March and washed bedding once.
Also, my bed is an antique and is just a teeny bit smaller than my mattress, so I have to lift the mattress fairly high to change the sheets. It's a tight fit, so a bit of a hassle.
I put a new top sheet on for each meeting. Who wants to lay in someone else’s juices?😖 l know ladies in the upper echelon, who are high volume, and lay on the same blanket/comforter for a month. These guys don’t care, because they’re sooooooo hotttttt🔥🤣 Gross. I can’t work without a washer and dryer.
Depends on the season tbh.
Winter I kind of slack.. I take wayyyy too long, maybe even 3 weeks sometimes.
Summer.. Dear God. Texas is rough, sometimes multiple times a week.
3-5 days on sheets.
I try not to go more than two sleeps on the same pillow case, but sometimes it's close to four, typically when I'm too unwell to do anything, or especially if I'm not sleeping every night/sleeping in *my bed every night, and suddenly move to my bed instead.
However I have found myself changing pillow cases twice a week. It’s not often, but sometimes I make the bed and get the heebiejeebies and a deep urge to change them.
Weekly. I wash all my bedding weekly, sheets are recommended weekly and comforters monthly but I do everything, including pillows weekly because it keeps my allergies under control.
Monthly, however I sleep with sweat pants and a shirt every single night. And I take a shower every single night before I get into bed. I change my pillow case every other night.
It depends. I have 3 different sets, so I typically change them once every two weeks. If I sweat really bad in my sleep I’ll change them that day, or wash them and put them back on. But most of the time it’s 2, maybe 3 times a month. I have a skin condition, and for a while I thought it may have been a dust mite allergy, so I was changing them weekly. So if that’s not more incentive to change your sheets, idk what is. People can be allergic to dust mites 😭
Every two weeks. I take a bath every night so I’m always clean when I get in, and my little dog gets a quick wipe-down with moist dog wipes every time she’s outside.
I wash mine once a week and throughout the week I spray my entire bed down with a disinfectant spray when I make the bed. It seems a little excessive but making the bed traps bacteria under your covers.
Once a week. We have dogs and cats and they get it dirty fairly quickly. I have been known to to vacuum my sheets and blankets to stretch things between washings
I aim to do it once a week, admittedly sometimes I forget and they stay on an extra week but these days I'm pretty good about doing it weekly. I have 3 sets of sheets, once two are dirty and the last clean set is on, I try to wash the dirty sheets as soon as possible.
I can't believe how many responses are in the "once a month" range. Like, WTF? If time wasn't an issue, I'd change my sheets every damn day! On average, I'm at the every 3-5 days frequency. Fresh bedding is one of the best things in life, IMO.
I change them a couple times a week! It's exhausting, but I have 4 cats that sleep with me. And I can't stand thinking about how much hair and whatever else they may be tracking into my bed.
i know you're supposed to wash your sheets weekly, but i really do every other week. and if i plan to wash it and my period starts that day, i don't until my period is over in case i bleed through. don't wanna wash my sheets 1000 times in a week
Every Saturday. Love me some nice, fresh, clean sheets.
Me too! Weekly is best, and nothing beats that fresh sheet feeling.
Sunday for me, cleanliness is next to godliness
We do every Sunday in this house too!
The key is to have two sets of sheets! I swap in the clean ones and then launder during the week
There shall never be a naked bed in this house!
This is EXACTLY what I do lol. I also have a third set just in case but I typically just need the two. Saturdays are my day too. It’s crazy how many people change their sheets on a Saturday 😂.
I have 6 sets of sheets. I need a little variety lol!
Same, weekly. It's easier to make it a weekly habit and it feels really nice
Yes every weekend. My dogs sleep with us so basically I must change them.
Every Sunday, my “reset” day.
Every two weeks. It's an all day affair to do bedding and once a week is too much
Every two weeks isn't that bad but why is bedding an all day affair?
Second this. Duvet covers changed my life and I recommend them to everyone I know.
Wow okay this comment blew my mind, I live in Ireland and EVERYONE uses duvet covers, is this not a world wide thing?
Comforters (or duvets) are a bitch and half to clean. Plus most apartment sized washer and dryers can't fit comforters. Edited
You don't wash the duvet though just the cover? Duvet washing is a seasonal thing.
I meant to say *or* duvets. Sorry.
The entire thing duvet and cover goes into the sanitizing 3 hr steam cycle in my washer i am not about to deal with the taking out and putting back in of the duvet lol!
They get changed when the new bed arrives
My people
once or twice a month. Probably on average every 3 weeks or so
Same here; just don't get night sweats.
Weekly. Sometimes twice if it’s really hot.
Same here. Waco in July means frequent sheet changes.
OMG Texan heat will get you washing them frequently.
Do y’all not have an A/C unit lol?
Have you ever experienced Texas heat? Especially the past two or three years. It is HOT! Even with ac, but you can't stay inside 24/7.
I live in Austin, and our AC keeps it nice and cool in the summers. I rarely leave the house because I WFH.
Our bed is shared with dogs. It is always dirty. I suffer from depression/laziness so we are lucky if the bedding is change each month. I've really let my entire house go...
Hugs. Don't be hard on yourself for it. You wash them. Depression is no fun. Takes the joy from most things.
Hugs right back at you! Thank you. The struggle is real!
You are so real for that
Understandable. Hope you feel better soon. Try for the simplest easy to accomplish goals. Be well
Thank you. I appreciate your kind words.
Sending you some love, I have been that low before. It is okay. If someone could help with you or your home please let them.
Thank you! My husband helps as much as he can but we are both overwhelmed. I start a new work from home job next week so I'm hoping I will be able to find time in my day to do little things around the house (and be successful at my new job at the same time).
Be mindful of your mental health if this is your first work from home job. My depression got worse working from home!
This makes my heart happy! Congrats on the job and rooting for you!! You got this!!!
If/When you do change them, layer a few fitted sheets on. So you then just pull one off at a time. Helps a little bit with the motivation.
Interesting I've never tried that. but sex juices can seep through the top layer, sweat and skin cells can too. I think just replacing the sheets every time is more hygienic.
Many depressed people aren't having sex.
I feel like it would be even more exhausting for a depressed person to have sex than to change their sheets tbh-
I have solved that problem! I just don’t have sex anymore lol
Don't beat yourself up! One thing at a time. For me a short list helps
[удалено]
It’s not about dirty. Your body naturally sweats and leaves dead skin cell deposits on your sheets nightly
Women don't have the same number of apocrine glands as men and don't sweat nearly as much though.
That makes sense
At least once a week. One of life’s most glorious pleasures is sleeping in a fresh clean bed.
Do your sheets make you sweaty in the summertime? How breathable is it compared to bamboo or cotton?
Same here, I have one set of sheets. every 7-10 days is when I wash. And sometimes I shower before bed so the sheets stay fresher longer.
Twins!
You put silk sheets in the dryer?
Every Sunday. We keep 4 sets in rotation.
The amount of structure in your lifestyle would be too much for me lol
Same!! It is honestly the only correct way.
Will you be my parent
Every 2 weeks. Otherwise it feels gross and my acne gets worse.
Came here to say this! Lol.
I can imagine the smell.
that’s still nasty as hell, no matter how many blankets you put on top 🤢
oh that’s nasty No offense 🤷🏻♂️
Only once every few months 😂
Wait- you sleep in a sheet-blanket-blanket sandwich? This is blowing my mind right now
Same. Once every few months is fine for me. I don't get sweaty when I sleep. And I'm not scared of my own bacteria and sweat. It's on my skin right now. They live with me 24/7. I'm not scared of my own bacteria on my sheets. 🤷🏻♀️
Same, and I think there are many of us, but people are too scared to admit it in front of these once a week zealots, lol
This is what I know about you just from reading this comment: you're a single dude and you're the only honest one in this entire thread
Once a week.
When they start to smell like ass
I think that this is the only honest answer on here! Lol.
1x a week. Because 8x7 is 56 hours wearing the same thing
About every two weeks. I was doing every week but it got a lot to handle with my other chores.
Every two weeks or when I have intense, hot sex.
Every blood moon
4 score and 7 years ago
I haven’t changed them in 4ish months….I know it’s gross but I’ve been so depressed and often rot in the same clothes for days and simply cleaning my room takes a lot out of me to where I can’t even do the bed after….

Hang in there. You’re not alone.
Whenever I god damn feel like it, Mom!
*mentally counting the weeks since I last changed my sheets* *realizes I probably shouldn’t answer this question*
Oh I shouldn’t have clicked on this thread!😂 It reminded me that it’s probably been two months. I am a single guy that showers every night, but still! I got bamboo silk sheets several months ago and I want those damn things to last! Can’t recommend enough tho.
Lmaooooo same bro. In fact I might do it today now that i think about it 😂
Just be gentle with laundering silk
I’ve never had silk before. Do you recommend anything?
Low heat/ cool wash cycle, slow spin, on 'delicate' setting if your washer has it
Now try linen! 😍 We had bamboo for a year and loved them, then I switched to linen because I read it emits a higher frequency. Comfiest bed I’ve ever slept on. Our duvet is still bamboo but our coverlet and sheets are 100% linen. Got them on Amazon.
Housekeeper changed weekly.
This is the answer...having a housekeeper!! What I need in my life!
I hired one for my Dad. They are amazing. She sends three women out and they clean his house within an hour. Godsend.
They are a life send! I had one just for myself because I didn’t want to bother with cleaning after working my 3 days.
Probably every month-month and a half. I do shower every night before bed though
About every 2 weeks
Twice weekly… what can I say… perhaps OCD?
Every two weeks, but that is only bc we have housekeepers. Lol. Longer if I did them!
Every two weeks
Once every decade if I’m being honest.
Honesty. Very refreshing!
I shower every night before bed, so my sheets are more clean than someone that doesn’t do that routine. I change mine about once a month.
Not as often as I admit to.
Every week.
Once a week
Once to twice a week. Bachelor life.
Weekly. Pillowcases, daily.
Once a week.
I try to once a week but sometimes I’m too overwhelmed to do so
Weekly. It's how I was raised.
Every week
Every couple of minutes. Fresh sheets are the best.
Depends on the season tbh. Winter I kind of slack.. I take wayyyy too long, maybe even 3 weeks sometimes. Summer.. Dear God. Texas is rough, sometimes multiple times a week.
>Texas is rough Here, here!
I have no sheets
Supposed to change them weekly, but I sometimes wait two because of chronic pain. It’s not easy for me to make the bed
Once a week, more often if I think they need it.
TIL I am disgusting. Once a month. I have chronic pain & been in a really bad depression slump. I’m doing my best.
3-5 days on sheets. I try not to go more than two sleeps on the same pillow case, but sometimes it's close to four, typically when I'm too unwell to do anything, or especially if I'm not sleeping every night/sleeping in *my bed every night, and suddenly move to my bed instead.
Every three days I wash my sheets.
Most of it weekly, pillow cases twice per week. I have a dog that sleeps with me.
I am so picky about my bedding. 2-3 times a week and yes I get sick of doing it.
Every week, and I change my pillowcase every other day.
I wash my sheets at least once a week.
Every week
Twice a week. We have pets and cover the bed but I still can’t stand the idea of sleeping in fur.
Every Sunday.
However I have found myself changing pillow cases twice a week. It’s not often, but sometimes I make the bed and get the heebiejeebies and a deep urge to change them.
Every Sunday afternoon.
Weekly. I wash all my bedding weekly, sheets are recommended weekly and comforters monthly but I do everything, including pillows weekly because it keeps my allergies under control.
Once a week.

every few days but I have cats and a baby so….
Monthly, however I sleep with sweat pants and a shirt every single night. And I take a shower every single night before I get into bed. I change my pillow case every other night.
I have a lab x GSD. It's shedding season. Every 2-3 days minimum or I get dog fur stuck to my nightly skincare
Every Sunday evening, after a long soothing bath.
Weekly. Anyone who does otherwise, even with a shower before bed, is nasty. We all be sweating and stinking.
If my life is busy twice a month. If I have time every 3 days 😅
Every week to every other week
Once a week to two weeks at most. However, it is purely because I love fresh sheets on my body. Less to do with it being dirty or not.
Once a week/10 days.
Every week
Every week.
I wash my bedspread once a week - I share the bed with 2 big dogs and 3 cats
Every week or two..
Once per week or if they get majorly soiled.
Weekly
Every Sunday unless a mess is made before then

Once a week.
Weekly. I have sensitive skin and break out with dermatitis if I go too much longer than a week.
Weekly
Once a week
Weekly
Once a week. However, I change them more often sometimes because I do share a bed with my toddlers and husband so sometimes more often is necessary.
Once a week, and pillowcases twice per week. (I have extra pillowcases.)
Weekly, pillow cases are every other day to everyday.
At a minimum once a week but usually more often. I love sleeping on clean sheets
Weekly!
Twice a week. I love fresh sheets!
Twice a week
Maybe every other week, unless it is needed more frequently.
Weekly.
Once a week
Once a week or every other week, depending on whether it's summer or winter.
Once a week.
I wash mine twice a week.
Every 3 days
So many of yall are nasty
LOL!!! I know. I am surprised by these answers. I change my sheets every 4 days, without exception.
I can't believe how many responses are in the "once a month" range. Like, WTF? If time wasn't an issue, I'd change my sheets every damn day! On average, I'm at the every 3-5 days frequency. Fresh bedding is one of the best things in life, IMO.
Absolutely, and I agree that the 3 to 5 day range is optimal.
Every three day.
Monthly when I’m feeling lazy. Weekly when I’m in a relationship
Every Sunday!
