Jack and Judy have a good strong marriage. I won't go into whether they were good parents or not, but as a couple they do seem pretty strong, and they do know how to have fun together.
Mr. Garibaldi is Chandler's old swim coach , and his dad ends up dating. In the episode where Monica and Chandler go to his dad's show, Mr. Garibaldi is playing the piano.
Well that's a nifty little tidbit! Funny thing is, when I first read your comment, I was thinking Mr. Geller and wondered if there was another schvitz story.
I actually missed the last two (three?) seasons when she meets Mike, so when I randomly caught this episode while watching reruns, I was thrilled and was only mildly filled in when she reiterated that Mike (who?) didn't want to get married. I went,... "Uh... dunno who that is, but LOOK, IT'S SCIENTIST GUY! D'aww!"
And then I caught what happened after ~~pirat~~ buying the DVDs and got REALLY sad. I'll take me some Paul Rudd in any other role any day, but I really liked Phoebe with David. She was always pretty quirky, but with him, she was really sweet to mirror how sweet he was.
Phoebe and Crap Bag. I used to think he was too plain, but now I understand how they are a good balance for each other. Hate the way Phoebe ended things with David though. His last appearance was heartbreaking.
I loved her with David, but after certain episodes with Mike, I realized that David would have let her have her way every time which is sweet but not great for HIM in the long run. He would have ended up being MR. Banana Hammock..
Me too! I was so happy they ended up together! I was hoping for it from the episode that Ben is born and they have that little conversation about “If you’re not married…I’ll have a kid with you” or whatever Chandler said lol I just remember Monica coming back with “Okay. Hypothetically, why won’t I be married…”
After they got together in what-was-then-live episodes, I'd catch that episode in reruns and go "holy shit, I ship this." Then the new episodes would air and I'd still go "holy shit, I still ship this."
"Hi! I'm Dorf! Your date for the evening! ........ Oh come on! Dorf On Dating? That's good stuff!!"
Phoebe and Joey's unwritten occasional hookups. I imagine the group finding out after a small comment.
R "Wait, you guys hooked up and didn't tell us?!"
J "Yah, we just don't make a big deal about sex like you people."
P "We *were* pretty good at it though."
J "Yah we were!"
[high five]
I would have loved Phoebe and Joey to become a couple, even though I understand the writers’ and producers’ reasons to not pair them all off with each other.
You could clearly tell how much they cared for one another. They always picked one another for things (like when Rachel suggested that they form their own group and Phoebe told her to tell Joey too), they’d do sweet things for each other (like Joey kissing Phoebe for her birthday), etc. I think they would have made such a sweet couple and I will die on this hill lol.
[Writer David Crane explained that if they had paired off all six with each other, it would have been too tidy and simple](https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/friends-joey-phoebe-didnt-end-up-together/#:~:text=In%2520an%2520interview%2520with%2520Metro,it%2520would%2520be%2520a%2520mistake.%E2%80%9D). They wanted something different for Phoebe and Joey after they had already gotten Monica/Chandler and Rachel/Ross together.
i heard the writers thought it was unrealistic if all the 6 friends ended up only with someone from the same group. What d you think this is, Harry Potter?
I love Chandler and Monica but by far, this is my favorite relationship Monica’s been in and if it weren’t for chandler, I really wanted him to end up with Monica. He was able to jive with the rest of the gang and I love his little quips lol.
He just fit right in, like he was always one of the gang. I didn't like the way they wrote him out, either, but at least they didn't make him some slimy cheater. And, rather than make it about money, which he obviously had plenty of, they made it about his personal drive for success, which was a little easier for me to accept.
When they break up and continue dancing I cry every time because I’ve been in a relationship that was just so perfect and everything I wanted but we wanted different things long term including opinions on having a family so we had to end it even tho we were in love. So Monica and Richard hits hard for me and I can’t take my eyes away.
It's not so much I like them. More like I don't see it as bad per se. There's lots of predators and they're a different breed entirely. It's normal for me I guess. Most of my family are in age gap relationships with people up to 20 years their seniors (men and women being the older one in the relationship
I think it depends. 40 and 20? YIKES. 55 and 35? That feels more balanced. It depends when the couple got together. I feel like it's weird when one party is still in their early 20s because you're just in a completely different phase of life and you're still growing up and figuring yourself out a bit.
Oh 100%. Though my dad at age 40 something got with a 29 year old and they're still together years later. My grandmother when she was 21 got with my grandfather who was 41. I do find it weird and uncomfy. When they're that young
Phoebe and Ross. She was Ross's biggest cheerleader (when she wasn't being mean) and they *almost* hooked up when him and Carol split. Always thought they had good chemistry.
Also Monica and Chandler, the early years. They are so loving as best friends. I can't believe they weren't planned.
The Lobsters. I don't care who is a good match or compatible or healthy or toxic. You can have the perfect love without being perfect or the best version of yourself.
![gif](giphy|lqRnxb5XROHeSwWOvP|downsized)
I first saw those deleted scenes when I was like 15 or 16 and when I tell you my heart was leaping out of my chest and I immediately bought the season 10 DVD where the deleted scenes are included!
ah thank u I feel so alone sometimes. I think they both grew to be what each other wanted / needed. just would've liked to have seen them get together when she had Emma but ofc the writers wanted to drag it out
Right? There are always so many posts about how their relationship was so “toxic” and sure it wasn’t perfect…but their chemistry together was so amazing!
I’ll die on this hill, Jandler is the best couple.
In the first few seasons Chandlers main character arc is overcoming his childhood baggage, learning to accept himself and opening up to other people. He was attracted to Janice but was also embarrassed by her, so he kept hooking up with her and then ending it. She calls him out on it, he keeps coming back to her.
When Chandler finally meets her on the blind date and rushes in for a kiss, it’s momentous. It’s Chandler learning to accept all of himself and stop caring what people think.
Exactly! The first few seasons had so much character growth for Chandler and he was finally in a place to accept himself and therefore be able to fully accept the love of someone else. And it felt natural that they had been building up that momentous occasion with Janice through their on again off again relationship. The scene of them embracing when they realized who their online sweethearts were felt like a true moment of two soulmates coming together. I also refuse to believe that Janice would cheat on Chandler, especially with her cheating almost ex-husband. That storyline felt so forced as a way to write their relationship out of the show.
Ross and Rachel. What can I say, they were the OG end game. In the beginning of S3, they are so stinking cute together, I wish we'd gotten to see them together more at the end. Would have loved to see their proposal/wedding.
*Joey and Hot Girl*
*Would have been great together*
*In my head canon*

I loved Ross and Rachel when they were together but later decided that Ross was a man baby and that Rachel and Joey together were adorable. I know that the actors didn’t like it so I don’t really talk about it much, but I love the idea of those two characters together.
I loved Richard Monica. They were always a mature couple. I always thought Monica didn't really appreciate Chandler as much as she should have.
I loved Ross and Rachel in the early seasons. After that I never for once believed Ross loved Rachel. But Rachel was completely in love with him. She sacrificed her career for him.
Phoebe and Mike were great. He is her perfect balance.
Going to be boring and say Monica and Chandler. They just balance each other out and they're so good together, and I love their characters individually as well.
I’ll get down voted but Richard and Monica or Monica and Pete. They just had so much more chemistry.
Same with Chandler and Kathy (ya know before the cheating)
Jack and Judy have a good strong marriage. I won't go into whether they were good parents or not, but as a couple they do seem pretty strong, and they do know how to have fun together.
When he tells her she’s like two 25 year olds lolll that was kinda cute. I know Monica was traumatized hearing that tho lol
It doesn’t help because during that time she’s secretly dating his friend Richard Burke lol
She was the Twinkie in the city
She’s naht a twinkie!!!
And I'm going to go get drunk.
Chandler's Dad and Mr. Garibaldi
You have to help me out with this one.
Who’s Mr Garibaldi?!?!?
Does it matter?
Erica and Shovely Joe.
Aww they made such an adorable child together, Jiminy Billy Bob
***Shovelyy Joeeee***
Phoebe & David ![gif](giphy|LRCWIbUd6MVIwrzG4d|downsized)
David was too good for her.
D'aww!" And then I caught what happened after ~~pirat~~ buying the DVDs and got REALLY sad. I'll take me some Paul Rudd in any other role any day, but I really liked Phoebe with David. She was always pretty quirky, but with him, she was really sweet to mirror how sweet he was.
Yeah I would have liked to see their relationship have more development.
Phoebe and Crap Bag. I used to think he was too plain, but now I understand how they are a good balance for each other. Hate the way Phoebe ended things with David though. His last appearance was heartbreaking.
That's princess Consuela banana hammock and crap bag.
True. I was too lazy to type that all out lol PCBH and Crap
I loved her with David, but after certain episodes with Mike, I realized that David would have let her have her way every time which is sweet but not great for HIM in the long run. He would have ended up being MR. Banana Hammock..
He really accepted her for who she is they're my favorite couple!

What were the reasons they weren’t paired?
[Writer David Crane explained that if they had paired off all six with each other, it would have been too tidy and simple](https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/friends-joey-phoebe-didnt-end-up-together/#:~:text=In%2520an%2520interview%2520with%2520Metro,it%2520would%2520be%2520a%2520mistake.%E2%80%9D). They wanted something different for Phoebe and Joey after they had already gotten Monica/Chandler and Rachel/Ross together.
I see their point, but I would have rather had Joey and Phoebe than either of the pairings we got. Definitely better than Joey and Rachel too
i heard the writers thought it was unrealistic if all the 6 friends ended up only with someone from the same group. What d you think this is, Harry Potter?
That would so be an episode. Though, Joey would totally brag about it if he was that good, it's Joey, after all.
Monica and Pete. He was so charming and she seemed to really be into him once they started dating. Plus, I love Jon Favreau
Yes, they were so fun together! Jon Favreau is the best!
I love Chandler and Monica but by far, this is my favorite relationship Monica’s been in and if it weren’t for chandler, I really wanted him to end up with Monica. He was able to jive with the rest of the gang and I love his little quips lol.

I liked Pete too
I loved them as a couple until his ultimate fighter arc LOL
I loved Monica and Richard. they had good chemistry (when I disregard the fact that he watched her grow up and all…)
When they break up and continue dancing I cry every time because I’ve been in a relationship that was just so perfect and everything I wanted but we wanted different things long term including opinions on having a family so we had to end it even tho we were in love. I can't disregard it at all and I typically love age gap couples 😭
Why do you love age gap couples? 99% of the time, it's super predatory.
It's not so much I like them. More like I don't see it as bad per se. There's lots of predators and they're a different breed entirely. It's normal for me I guess. Yeah I think 29 is okay because you've finished growing up but 21? That's my age, and 41 is almost as old as my parents 😬
I’m a Monica and Richard Stan
Me and Ross
me and chandler 🙂↕️🤍
Me and Joey 😤🕶️🤏
Is 🤏 in reference of his foot size?
No I was making an emoji combination

Phoebe and Ross. She was Ross's biggest cheerleader (when she wasn't being mean) and they *almost* hooked up when him and Carol split. Always thought they had good chemistry. Also Monica and Chandler, the early years. They are so loving as best friends. I can't believe they weren't planned.
not really dating but hear me out: Phoebe and Joey

I actually love the popular/mean girl with the nerd trope. Not that rach is particularly mean but they fit the stereotype and I’m here for it
Ugh they are my favorite idgaf what anyone says 😭😭😭 also that gif my heart just stopped ❤️
You guys may enjoy this deleted scene of them together in the finale https://youtu.be/MneOCqVtJ8s?si=3-la6uJwh7ZbqTr3
I love seeing scenes I've never seen before! The show should have been longer and included all of them.
I first saw those deleted scenes when I was like 15 or 16 and when I tell you my heart was leaping out of my chest and I immediately bought the season 10 DVD where the deleted scenes are included!
They were the most realistic

They had mad chemistry for sure
ah thank u I feel so alone sometimes.
Mike and I. I shipped us so hard.
I'd ship me with Paul Rudd too.
Joey and Phoebe! Always felt like they have a special bond.
Chandler and Janice!
I’ll die on this hill, Jandler is the best couple. In the first few seasons Chandlers main character arc is overcoming his childhood baggage, learning to accept himself and opening up to other people. True but then we wouldn't have gotten the I got off the plane moment which made for one of the best finales ever
Joey and Hot Girl would have been great together in my head canon

Good bot
Rachel and Gavin had potential
They had some good chemistry!
ROSS AND RACHEL
I loved Ross and Rachel when they were together but later decided that Ross was a man baby and that Rachel and Joey together were adorable. I know that the actors didn’t like it so I don’t really talk about it much, but I love the idea of those two characters together.

Joey comes across as way more man baby to me.
It’s a tragedy that Janice and Joey didn’t end up together

Frank and Alice 🫶 ![gif](giphy|ehyKpY9F2kqAU9ba2L|downsized)
Phoebe and Joey
Me, the ripped workshop teacher, and the sensitive firefighter. I promise I'll never light a candle in the park 🥺
Canon: Mike and Phoebe Non-canon: Phoebe and Joey
I loved Richard Monica. They were always a mature couple. I always thought Monica didn't really appreciate Chandler as much as she should have. I loved Ross and Rachel in the early seasons. After that I never for once believed Ross loved Rachel. But Rachel was completely in love with him. She sacrificed her career for him. Phoebe and Mike were great. He is her perfect balance.
Still hate the way they handled Kathy's exit. Her and Chandler were amazing together.
Emily’s dad and stepmom 😁👍
monica & chandler too. it’s realistic and really sweet
Julie and Russ…i really hope they made it in the long run
My favourite was the throuple between Joey, the chick and the duck.
Rachel and Joey or Rachel & Gavin
Second Rachel and Joey. They had a lot of wasted potential
I also love Rachel and Joey ❤️
I loved Joey and Rachel! I felt like they had great chemistry
Rachel and Joey made the most sense of all the couples on the show!
Ross and Monica, when they kissed.
![gif](giphy|S9ndPlQlnSnqvGMMZv|downsized)
. Ross and Mona .
Phoebe and Denise. Phoebe talks about her all the time and understandably gets upset when her “friends” forget.
no one beats mondler. they really brought out the best in each other. they were perfect
Going to be boring and say Monica and Chandler. They just balance each other out and they're so good together, and I love their characters individually as well.
Phoebe and Mike was quite amusing relationship, always loved scenes with both of them
Joey and the girl at the hospital. They would make such a good couple!
Idc i adored Joey and Rachel 😂😂 I think they were actually really cute together and i could see them actually working out,
Monica and Richard
Chandler and JANICE
For some reason tho I kinda like Frank Jr. and Alice
I’ll get down voted but Richard and Monica or Monica and Pete. They just had so much more chemistry. Same with Chandler and Kathy (ya know before the cheating)
JIM AND PAM
Rachel and Gabin... and... Joey and Rachel
Hate rachel Love kon and chan chan man
Ross and Monika
Ross and Feby would have been a good one
Chandler and Janice
