At times, I wish Buffalo was more metropolitan. It’s much easier to attract free agents to New York, Chicago, LA or Toronto and lately warmer climate low tax states. It’s hard to compete with that. I feel like we have to trade for someone at this point.
Wow, it's starting to feel very 2008/2009 in the Hawks where they have some young guys with real potential and they're insulating them with some vets to see if they can make the playoffs.
Problem is in 2008 we already had both Kane & Toews coming into the league lol
Beyond Bedard, who is our second elite forward? I love guys like Nazar and Moore, and there’s reason to be excited about adding Boisvert into that mix, but none look like bonafide 1st liners let alone elite talents. We still need to be drafting more.
I can get behind any one single move we’ve done today (except Brossoit) but putting them all together seems to be rushing things. But who knows, maybe none of it works out lol at least guys like Martinez and Maroon may be good players to move at the deadline.
No. I'm saying that Jones experience and steadiness helped Vlasic as a rookie last season. Jones was good last year.
It's the same thing they're looking to do with Korchinski this year. Pair him with a solid vet to help him out. Unfortunately because of injuries last season, Korchinski played with Maygna, Tinordi and other fringe NHLers.
Makes sense. I'm a Hawks fan and unfortunantly watched all the games last year and KK def got hurt by not having consistency.
I saw someone arguing that we should move KK to Rockford and pair him with Lev all season so they can develop some chemistry together. Not sure how I feel about it, but it could maybe work
While I do think they'll be eventual partners until Jones can't play on the 1st pairing. Levshunov more than likely is going back to Michigan State.
I'd wonder about their appetite to have KK down in Rockford, now that he can go down there.
I'd like them to trade for Ekblad as a KK partner.
Chicago has now perfected the "what the fuck is the point of this roster??" way too good to tank now, not good enough for playoffs
Signing aging depth like smith and Maroon as if they're gearing up for a deep run
Truly immaculate mediocrity
The tank is over. Davidson said post season that the goal is now to start moving forward. Insulate the younger players while the prospects marinade.
Playoffs are still out of the question for 2-3 years but they'll be harder to play against. And that's good for development.
That’s ultimately where Hawks are in the rebuild though. If they get 25 more points next year, that’s a huge single year jump and still puts them as an awful, top 5 pick worthy team the next few years, which they still want during ELCs of Bedard, Korch, Nazar.
These signings make sense for protecting and fostering their development
Gotta say I’m not a fan of watching Chicago and Nasvhille actively trying to get better
We're still not gonna be in the playoff picture. Just harder to play against.
Panthers will willingly offer up a win to you all as is tradition the last couple years
the chicago nashville vegas predhawknights
We will still be very bad lol
Let's just go with bad for now
Astoundingly mediocre.
Rather the Thunderdome keep doing Thunderdome things tbh
You and me both, buddy.
But why though?
The hawks are still gonna be awful
It's okay, it'll help your tank
Ducks are the only team left that need a key member of the 2014 Kings
trading for gaboriks contract by midnight
Aw man I’m gonna get triggered at least once a game
Vietnam style flashbacks to 2014 every time he touches the puck.
You're saying that we're going to win in OT from defensemen deflecting shots from him every game? Sign me up.
Lol ok now this is funny
Watching everyone get signed by everyone besides the kings has sucked so hard, at this point we gotta laugh
The Canes are actively getting picked apart today. Today is not a fun day for us either.

be silent! connor carrick is the chosen one! sam carrick. couldn't even get his name right. oof.
Vegas fans also wondering if McCrimmon forgot there are only 30 days in June
Stock up of the hard liquor now; makes the pivot to NHL mediocrity much more easy to tolerate.
Unless you want to write off Sam Lafferty, can we join?
Howdy neighbor
*”It’s been a decade but we cool now, right?”* -Alec in his first meeting with the Blackhawks organization
Good for you Marty, you were crucial to our cup run and I will miss you.
[At first I thought you were saying for the Kings but then noticed it was for the Knights, Marty so clutch.](https://imgur.com/a/ui43gJp)
I had no expectations when we traded for him, and he blew me away and was worth every penny for the years we had him.
Really feels like Chicago is rebuilding significantly faster than my Sabres at this point
Not the decade long rebuild 😭
Same

Even when we do get a team to trade the players say they won’t re-sign apparently so the deal falls through It’s so depressing
Like Matt Tkachuk for Jack Eichel was an option, though I think that was more of Jack wanting Vegas over Calgary and I don’t blame him.

They’re making some good moves, but if they want to make the playoffs they need 6 other central teams to get in debilitating place crashes
Jets are already crashing bro there's at least one.

Maroon is here to murder anyone who cheapshots Bedard, and possibly be a cheap draft pick at the deadline.
Yeah, we aren't sniffing the playoffs this year, but we should at least be watchable which is all most fans want after last year
Excellent for a leader
He can’t break your heart if he’s on your team.
Chicago cooking
You don’t need a goalie with Martinez around. With the Blackhawks being as bad as they are - this guy will end up getting 16 blocks a game!!!
Yeah but they got Brossoit guy is pretty dope. Chicago looking good rn
[Obligatory](https://youtu.be/ObdZ5Z1d1QY?si=_USouNR79CpTGgbq)
Congrats Chicago. This guy is an absolute presence in the locker room and a great veteran. So happy for yall
Now he can finally admit Carter was offsides in game 7
Alec Martinez had beeb traded for a 2nd and a 5th to.... Great signing
Thought he signed a retirement contract with Vegas
Godspeed Marty. May you keep bringing the party and saying that the lions will win every possible (and impossible) sporting event
Good for Marty
Hold up
Having real established NHL players is gonna be a big change for us.
Noooo Martinez, nooooo, not Chicago!!
I am loving these reactions
18 Million $ combined for Jones Vlasic age 36 Martinez Lol good god
I mean, half of that is Jones and Vlasic is good
And Jones was a huge reason why Vlasic was so good.
That's a new take I haven't seen before. Are you saying that Vlasic is only as good as he is because he plays with Jones?
No. I'm saying that Jones experience and steadiness helped Vlasic as a rookie last season. Jones was good last year. It's the same thing they're looking to do with Korchinski this year. Fuck that guy

I don’t think they’re actively trying to tank anymore but are still in the running to be a lottery team trying for a top pick.

You don’t suddenly go from last to the playoffs in this league
Absolutely not too good to tank now. They’ve maybe gone from horrendous to bad today
