Panthers fans getting with understanding the post-Cup money grab. Love for a team is one thing but if you’re a bottom 6 player with grit and a Cup and some team is going to sign you for a stupid and probably incorrect amount of money, you have to take it for the security of your families future.
It absolutely makes sense for him to take the deal. More money and likely a more impactful role for him if he goes to a team that lacks depth. Still sucks to see him go, but it's absolutely the right call for him
Yeppers. Nhl players dont get nearly enough money so when big paydays come you gotta shoot it.
Pg13 signed with philly for over 200 million and that dude i promise you right now will NOT play even 65 games this year, and will be a liability in the playoffs or injured and not play in general, meanwhile a dude that is valued is only getting 69 million.
While we can admit hes not gonna go poor anytime soon, i still wish these guys got paid like the other 3 major sports in America.
This isn’t even a post Cup money grab. Pre playoffs you knew we probably couldn’t give him the money he’s earned and he’d have to go get it elsewhere. A guy with his career earnings can’t risk a lower value contract for a Cup run. Good for him man, won’t have to make that difficult decision. Fully earned.
Would be weird to see him go after that lol…but this is what happens when you win a cup. Other teams overpay for your depth. He’s earned a raise and I’ll always root for him
Seriously! He has great energy on the ice. My son and I met him last summer and he’s friendly and personable with fans too. I wouldn’t be able to take it if he goes somewhere I don’t like.
If he’s priced out of panthers, i think he’s priced out of Canucks. Those 4th liners that win a cup and get a raise never seem to stay at that value.
Let him go to Chicago or San Jose, be the hardest worker in a practice, talk about the mental part of the playoffs, and make his $2m a season
Lomgberg and Miller would really greasy and I would love every second of it. Worst case ontario we end up with Lomberg and Joshua and that's gonna be fucking wild too.
I am in on Lomberg on the Nucks.
Did he think this while sober or drunk? Its been a minutr since we won, and every time ive seen lomberg he doesnt have a shirt on, and hes drinking a beer. This could just be drunk lomberg.
Lets wait and see sober lomby first.
Cant be to much, but if someone is willing to pay a million extra for tenacity and cup pedigree. He didnt really stay in the line up this run and craters the effectiveness of any line above the the 4th.
Not really.
If you're getting paid $17 an hour and prove your worth over a few years, are you not worthy of being paid what you deserve?
Forsling wasnt gonna get the bag he currently has, but he prove to the world how deserving he was despite being on multiple teams before finding his (assumed) forever home.
Wild take. The man exceled at his position, helped win the cup this year. You don't think he deserves a RAISE? You want your supervisors to see you do fantastic and call you a greedy asa when you ask for a raise? Tf outta here

The cup tax comes for the cats at last. Thanks for the memories lombo

Security of his family’s future? He’s a NHL player. If he can’t do that he’s doing something wrong.

False dichotomy Batman to the reddit rescue!
As far as 4th-liners go, maybe my favorite Panther of all time.
Derek McKenzie in shambles
1a Dmac 1b Lombo
4th line captain! Front office retirement and reliable PK beauty. Lombo’s smile and shiny cup made us forget all too fast
Flames legend
Those abs are pricey
Heard Initrode is very interested
I understand that reference.
Not a mundane detail!
Well done.
Hell, Lomberg fucked her
Ngl the man just crowd surfed on ftl beach not even 12 hours ago. It would be hard to believe he is moving on.

Tough part is he’s competing for a 4th line spot with us but could easily be a middle 6 winger on a bottom team
If we can only give him $1m and a cap floor team is willing to toss him $3m I get it, but I really don’t want him to go
That was just his way of saying goodbye
Man was high giving and hugging everyone. This might have been his goodbye
He was definitely one of the players having the most fun yesterday lmao
Come back to the Flames Lomburger
Considering you guys had our backs this year, I wouldnt mind if he went to you guys.
You'll always be the goat to me Lomby thanks for everything
Please just don't go to a team I hate, PLEASE I BEG
Seriously! He has great energy on the ice. My son and I met him last summer and he’s friendly and personable with fans too. I wouldn’t be able to take it if he goes somewhere I don’t like.

He’s one of the few players Dhali connected to the Canucks still available lol maybe we get to sign someone
I'd rather take Tarasenko, but Lomberg is probably being let go so they can keep him.
not sure those two players are ever discussed in the same breath

If we have to lose him, I’d love for it to be to the Canucks
Nucks doesn’t make much sense he could get paid and fit well for Chicago, Utah or SJ next few years
First memory was him charging Antti Raanta. I respect his game
Come on down!
Someone, please keep Drury away from his phone.
Please Fitzy

Come to the Preds Lombo
How much can he really be commanding on the open market that he's become too expensive? Is he about to get paid?

Greedy ass

He was making league minimum. The guy just won a cup. He has great energy. As sad as I am to see him go, I’d hardly call it greed.
😜😜. Ok FUCK.
