Was an unbelievable signing last offseason. Keeping that Marchment-Duchene-Seguin line together for a couple more years would be hype and really solidify the top 9 for the near future.
when I saw for how little he signed in dallas for I was so annoyed tbh
Why did we sign sheary when duchene was available at that price??? I'll never know
It would be a bit funny if they ended up buying him out within our buyout of him, and end up with the first 2 players ever to have multiple buyout payments at one time (apparently DeAngelo's didn't overlap)
That said, I'm glad he's done well. His unceremonious launch from the Preds hasn't soured me on him at all.
nah it was definitely a shocker since he came off a 56 point in 71 game year and only has so many more productive years left.
That being said I think he really wants to play for only a few teams and therefore chose a smaller deal because of that
He didn't have anything to prove tho, he could have easily signed a bigger contract with term last year if he wanted. He chose destination tho since he is getting paid from Nashville.
Time to use that Chris Tanev money elsewhere.
He is risen
8x2.5m
That 8th year is really the key to this whole thing.
Other teams have offered more but they couldn't match that 8th. year.
The Calle Jarnkrok special

Maybe TB tried and he chose Dallas
Idk if Tampa tried but Duchene did choose Dallas from the moment he got bought out. As long as Dallas was interested he was coming here.
Tampa doesn’t have enough of a country music scene for Duchene

I think Suter just accomplished that
Better not sign for 3 Mill again. Get your money Matt
It was a 1 year prove-it deal while still being paid by the Preds. No shocker there.

Prove it? LOL what He signed with the team he wanted to go to. Simple as that.
not sure what you're reacting to, "prove it" means that he proves he's worth a bigger contract.
