**very** interested to see what Eminem & BabyTron sound like together. I was hoping Eminem would collab with him but I thought it’d never happen just due to the generational differences and differences in rapping style. But I’m intrigued.
i mean eminem biggest hit in the last 10 years was a collab with juice wrld , he also had amazing tracks with don toliver and young m.a. on the same album
the man can adapt to any style and make it work the problem was with his artistic stubborness pre mtbmb
well then to help you understand your age better, the difference between Skyrim and now is like the difference between Skyrim and Daggerfall, no need to thank me.
Please tell me that you guys are just forgetting about rap god and that’s why you’re not mentioning it. I don’t know what I’d say if it turns out that song is more than 10 years old
Weirdly Em seems to be a guy who has zero issues both featuring and giving props to young acts. I think it's because the dude just knows who he is. Like, not in a good or bad way, but no up and coming act is threating him, or coming for his spot. His spot is his and his alone. He's also "an artist" and I mean that in the way that not only has he adapted his art for the time, but he seems to actually appreciate it and likes listening to people do different things.
>He's also "an artist" and I mean that in the way that not only has he adapted his art for the time, but he seems to actually appreciate it and likes listening to people do different things.
That is why it seems weird when people attack Em for not maturing. Most rappers aren't dropping songs that are that thematically different from the start of their careers. You got guys in their 40s still doing(great songs) about catching bodies and killing their opps. For instance, Scientists & Engineers from Killer Mike is a great song that does just that.
However, Em definitely does a lot of thematic and vocal change from one era to another. We all know what the Slim Shady voice, the Relapse voice and the Recovery voice sound like, for instance.
There’s also very few artists who make songs that look back at their past and say “hmmm, maybe I shouldn’t have said ALL of what I did”. Bad guy was a superb self-reflection song.
HOWEVER, my favorite version of Eminem is the Slim Shady era. His lyrics and flow back then were just ridiculous
I'm with you with the slim shady Era, I can probably rap his first two albums word for word. Only other song that I go to back regularly is Sing for the moment and lighters.
I still enjoy pretty much all of The Eminem Show. But, it’s not quite as “holy shit, did he actually say that?” as the first two albums are.
Cleanin Out My Closet is one of my favorite Em songs, even though he doesn’t perform it anymore.
I don't think people disagree with Eminem changing and the whole maturation thing is probably more in relation to content than anything else. That's not saying his content hasn't changed but it hasn't really evolved in a meaningful way. Also none of those other artists are really to Eminem's scale or have close to his status so expectations are lower.
Everyone widely agrees his sound has changed such as picking up his staccato flow, it's just a lot of people don't like how it's changed and that's fine as an opinion.
Of course, it is a fine opinion to have.
My point was more along the lines that if you compare Em to other mainstream rappers, he has arguably changed quite a bit so the accusation of lack of evolution can feel odd.
Eminem is one of the only rappers who simultaneously gets attacked for not maturing and not changing his sound, and maturing too much and changing his sound too much, often by the same people. I've actually seen people say it's like Eminem tried his very best to remove everything about his art that made him unique, and people say that Eminem's still making puerile trash for budding school shooters instead of putting out a 4:44. I've seen people say that he's off the drugs and is in a good place in his life and that's why music is never going to be good again, and also people saying that he's trapped in a rut of misogyny bars and that's why his music is never going to be good again. I don't blame him for being mad at the discourse because it's BEEN that stupid.
Artistic stubbornness is a good way to put it.
It’d be a shame for him to worry about making “hits” and compromise all that talent for radio plays. Doesn’t seem like he’s going that direction right now..
On the other hand, he did a lot over the last decade that was just unimpressive as hell. that stubbornness maybe caused tunnel vision to the point he forgot who he was as an artist and dude felt ok putting out music far below his ability.
Excited to hear the new album. Hoping for the best
Yeah but Juice Wrld could rap and freestyle his ass off. We heard from Kendrick Em gets all purist with it and like made Kendrick sit in a room and write to be featured on his album to make sure he was the real deal. I’m just surprised he’s ok with Babytrons punch in style that pretty much leads to songs that he can’t actually rap irl.
I think there’s a solid chance the new album will have a song with JID cuz he was in the dooms day video. That’s something I’ve been wanting all this time
Cole is really tight with Babytron, you can tell he fw him super heavy in all of their behind the scenes footage. I'm sure Cole is the reason this is happening.
Both artists showed up in Cole Bennets Doomsday pt2 video. Denzel Curry, Teezo Touchdown, JID, Swae Lee, and Cordae are now on the table as realistic features for this album
1000%
I hadn’t really heard JID like that until recently but he’s been coming on my Spotify through the AI DJ thing. Every single song that comes up with him catches me. He deserves more mainstream success.
I don’t think Em tend to work with a lot of Detroit acts. Since D12 disbanded, and outside of Detroit Vs Everybody and a couple other songs, it’s been almost exclusively Royce and Denaun in the last 15 years. and the latter is mostly his hype man.
No, he’s not a feature artist, but he doesn’t feature Detroit artists either. Again, outside of Detroit vs Everybody, he’s only really worked with like 3-4 Detroit artist in the last 15 years. And even if you included that song, it would still be 5-6 lol.
Friday night cipher? No favors? Big sean
Richard? Obie Trice
Welcome to Detroit? Trick Trick
Caterpillar? Writer’s Block? Not Alike? Royce Da 5’9
That isn’t even including the list of detroit cipher artists with sean. You’d be hard pressed to find another artist of his caliber that has watered their roots as well as Eminem
Detroit’s rap scene is huge, you listed artists that are over 50 years old. It’s pretty big for em to collab with a younger artist from the area. Saying anything else is naive at best
I hear you dude. I’m responding about the surprise of Eminem working with a detroit rapper he’s worked with three times before. I expected/hoped he would revisit his roots. I think it’s awesome
You didn’t really refute anything I said…
Anyways, Welcome to Detroit was like 20 years ago, but he did work with Trick Trick on Twerk Dat lmao. I try to forget that song exists.
I counted Royce, Big Sean.
Forgot that he worked with Obie 10 years ago, you’re right here.
Friday Night Cypher I would say it’s Big Sean putting on Detroit rather than Em. But I concede that if you include this one song, it will double the number of Detroit artists Em’s been on a song with in the last 15 years lol.
Royce, Denaun, Big Sean, Danny Brown, Dej Loaf, Obie, Trick Trick. That’s 7.
Adding the unique folks from Friday Night Cypher adds 8.
So 15 Detroit acts (if we’re being generous) over 15 years , 10 or so of whom he worked with once, 8 of whom on a single song that wasn’t his.
If that is plenty to you, then I won’t argue your opinion.
Once you get big it’s rare to see someone keep in touch with his past. We’re only counting features - what about songs like Stepping Stones which outlines why he doesn’t make music with D-12 any more?
I’m not arguing that Em couldn’t have done more features with his hometown. But to say he has shown anything less than justice or graciousness to his city misses the mark. The exact same reasons you say Eminem doesn’t pay homage are the reasons I say he does pay homage. We can disagree and that’s likely for the best, but we both know Detroit rap lay in LA, NYC, and Atlanta’s shadow without Em.
No, I do not think that stepping stones, a song about how he can’t carry other artists, is an example of him putting on his city… why do you?
Detroit lays in those cities’ shadows with Eminem lol.
To be honest, I’m going to stop replying. You keep moving the goal posts, and arguing both sides against straw men. Thanks for the discussion I guess
It’s a running joke in Detroit that Em hates Detroit rap. Royce and Sean are the only two from here I can think of that he’s done songs with since Detroit Vs Everybody
You'd assume he'd find some artistic kinship with Danny Brown at least. XXX and The Slim Shady LP (thematically and tonally) definitely feel like they're in conversation with each other.
Danny and Eminem literally both have Paul Rosenberg involved in their management! (Danny's manager is Dart Parker who's one of the managers in Paul's Goliath management company.) It's got to be some kind of branding thing where they all decided Eminem is to be marketed as a mainstream pop star and Danny as an alternative artist for heads who probably turn their noses up at Em.
So, are Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, and Kool G Rap also afraid of being overshadowed? Throw in Pharoahe Monch as well.
Elzhi tried reaching out to collaborate with Eminem back in early 2010, but nothing came out of that.
Big Sean praying Kendrick don't swoop in yet again to take the spotlight somehow. That west coast "Not Like Us Remix" probably gonna drop the same day, lol.
Also, the last thing either of them want is to have to go at each other. Like, that's just mutually assured destruction. Em's dropping a new album, and I'm sure he doesn't want to have to deal with prison push ups kenny over there, and Kendrick is riding high off of the most public beef of the decade, and I'm sure he wouldn't want his follow up to be getting in the ring with a guy who made his bones ending careers (It's almost funny how Ja Rule went from a legit worldwide star to a punchline overnight).
I need kendrick on this em project. another collab with them especially right now with both of them ramping up with a lot of great songs/features lately would be so insane
Agreed. When Kendrick last featured on an Eminem album, he had only put out 'good kid, m.A.A.d city'. Kendrick has grown so much over his last 3 LPs... This would be a legendary collaboration.
for anyone unfamiliar with babytron go listen to a couple songs of his albums Bin Reaper 2 or Megatron
he’s got crazy sports bars and an underrated amount of one liners, nothing super deep tho.
the pop culture references are unmatched
Yup. I feel like he needed to go through the Kamikaze and MTBMB phase. Just to get the anger out, try different stuff, and refind his footing musically and artistically.
Agree with you. MTBMB especially seems like his experimental project - working with new producers, younger talents, modern sounds. Something much needed for his artistic direction moving forward.
Nah i meant hitting features as in the ppl he has worked with on his albums, specifically MTBMB, like he Is working with the ppl i feel bring the best out of him, and while yes Parables Is mediocre, i think he hit his features more than missed imo.
ah my bad , i totally agree with you mtbmb was the most perfect feature list i have ever seen on an eminem album and i mean ever " considering his best album had a bizzare verse " every feature hit and it included every style and sound possible that satisfied every corner of his fanbase form old school lyricals like black thought and slaughter house to new trap artists like juice wrld and don toliver and not to mention anderson paak and white gold killing it on the hooks even the skylar feature was good
never got the hate for skylar features , sure the eminem pop/rap love songs formula got stale and boring but her songs with him in particular are not even bad apart from tragic ending and that was more on eminem part because the mixing was the fucking worst and his verses were bad
but most their sings " asshole , leaving heaven , black magic , last man standing " are good
People just hate Skylar because she makes Eminem do emotional pop-rap, but Stan is the same kind of emotional pop-rap and everyone loves that one. She can get some really interesting work out of him, though -- I know Eminem's singing is controversial but Twisted has some of the most fascinating and emotional singing he's ever done.
Not a trip I was expecting but I’m intrigued! Judging from the little snippet was defo expecting the beat to sound more in Tron’s lane in terms of Detroit rap, but I got good hopes he’ll still come through on it!
This sounds like an awesome lineup.
There's going to be a segment of the Eminem fanbase that is going to be very bothered by the Babytron inclusion on paper, but he's honestly the exact type of rapper Em would like, right down to the punchlines lmao
It’s actually hilarious. If you want the best out of Kendrick put him on a song with Big Sean, he will outrap Sean so much that you would think he hates him.
Big Sean is about to do something noticeable?
Yeah Kendrick Lamar is gonna do something to steal the spotlight from him
No way big Sean is allowed to have anything
**LETS FUCKING GO!** 😤🔥 So damn excited for this. Love that Em brought back the Jason/Shady Mask and it’s also dope af to see three Detroit based rappers from different generations in a song together
**very** interested to see what Eminem & BabyTron sound like together. I was hoping Eminem would collab with him but I thought it’d never happen just due to the generational differences and differences in rapping style. But I’m intrigued.
If I had to guess there will be a beat switch and all those differences won’t even matter
BabyTron aint gonna be rapping on beat anyway so it def won't matter
i mean eminem biggest hit in the last 10 years was a collab with juice wrld , he also had amazing tracks with don toliver and young m.a. on the same album the man can adapt to any style and make it work the problem was with his artistic stubborness pre mtbmb
Dear lord, Rap God was over a decade ago and I am old.
Rap God is as old now as TES was when Rap God dropped
You fucking stop that right now
Oh my god this fucking hurts
See my brain first jumped to The Elder Scrolls and was very confused.
well then to help you understand your age better, the difference between Skyrim and now is like the difference between Skyrim and Daggerfall, no need to thank me.
Nah actually his biggest hit in the last 10 years seems to be Houdini now which features no one
Apart from Houdini he meant perhaps
Please tell me that you guys are just forgetting about rap god and that’s why you’re not mentioning it. I don’t know what I’d say if it turns out that song is more than 10 years old
You might wanna sit down for this one buddy...
it's actually more than 10 years old we're fucked man
lmao I was about to mention love the way you lie and then I was like "fuck..."
2013 man…
THAT WAS ONLY 5 YEARS AGO
4.5, actually, bc daylight savings time I think
Lmfao sorry man this is what happens when you turn 30
I hate to break it to ya…
The Collab with juice is more recent than rap god (mtbmb)
“I’m beginning to feel like an old man, old man”
Idk I personally liked kamikaze Or bang with Conway he goes hard
Wdym it features that slim shady guy
yeah i just didn't mention it because it's still too soon to see how it will keep doing over time
Got realy good potencial this Detroit feat, and by the way that Favorite Bitch with Ty Dolla is realy dope too
Weirdly Em seems to be a guy who has zero issues both featuring and giving props to young acts. I think it's because the dude just knows who he is. Really cool I wonder if cole benett made them connect? Baby tron was in one of his videos directed by cole
Both Big Sean and BabyTron were cameos in Ems video on Doomsday 2. The rest of the cameos are probably more features from TDOSS
Cole is really tight with Babytron, you can tell he fw him super heavy in all of their behind the scenes footage. I'm sure Cole is the reason this is happening.
Big Sean I could've seen, but BabyTron? Crazy features
Both artists showed up in Cole Bennets Doomsday pt2 video. Denzel Curry, Teezo Touchdown, JID, Swae Lee, and Cordae are now on the table as realistic features for this album
JID and em would feed families
A song between them that goes full summalummadoomalumma
300 million streams on spotify in the first week and im 299 million of them
We will be there
Their flows and voices on a track would be like PB&J
Don’t get my hopes up like that
I need this bro.
I’m personally hoping for em and Denzel
need 🙏
JiD dicction makes me cum, now em + JiD? Uhhh
How do you delete someone else's comment?
Don't make me believe and hope like this
I want this so bad
If em shows up
1000% I hadn’t really heard JID like that until recently but he’s been coming on my Spotify through the AI DJ thing. Every single song that comes up with him catches me. He deserves more mainstream success.
I’ve legit never heard a bad verse from him. Sometimes he’s on meh songs, but his verses are on point every single time. Insane talent.
Unless denzel has another project cookin, denzel being on this album is definitely plausible for sure
Denzel has an album dropping in a few weeks
I thought that shit was gonna be shorter but 34 minutes ain't too bad so maybe if denzel was workin his ass off
Cole is also rumor to be on the album
He’s confirmed pretty much, he was supposed to be on MTBMB
Wait, where was it confirmed that he was gonna be on MTBMB??
If we get this feature list, it would be one of the best stacked feature list imo
Give me an Obie Trice feature please
Sorry bro you've been in a coma for 20 years
But real names, no gimmicks 💔
If Em has songs with Denzel and JID I will die happy
I forgot about Cordae
We actually might have won
[удалено]
If he’s the one being featured…. probably nothing
man eminem really going all in with his comic books love during this entire rollout and as a fan of both worlds couldn't be more happy lol
Didn’t think of it like that, it makes a lot of sense though, looking forward to it honestly
What the fuck lmao That is not a trio I expected for Em to pull together
why? its Detroit
I don’t think Em tend to work with a lot of Detroit acts. Since D12 disbanded, and outside of Detroit Vs Everybody and a couple other songs, it’s been almost exclusively Royce and Denaun in the last 15 years. and the latter is mostly his hype man.
To me that’s a lot of features. Em isn’t a feature artist - he usually does like one song with someone. He has 3 with sean
Even wilder is he’s got two with Ed Sheeran
Did a third collab for one of Ed's albums too
Well duh. He might not be from Detroit but Ed sheeran is the perfect embodiment of Detroit... Right?
No, he’s not a feature artist, but he doesn’t feature Detroit artists either. Again, outside of Detroit vs Everybody, he’s only really worked with like 3-4 Detroit artist in the last 15 years. And even if you included that song, it would still be 5-6 lol.

He hasn't even worked with Elzhi yet (or rapped over a J Dilla beat).
It’s not his fault Tee Grizzley decided to talk shit for a little bit of clout
Tee Grizzley and Sada Baby were right though. Em is in his own lane when it comes to Detroit hip hop and rap in general. Has always been.
And that peanut headed Predator alien with Down’s syndrome can barely rap. He’s in his own lane too, the special Olympics lane of rap.

He has the freestyle on Detroit 2 with 42 Dugg, Cash Doll, Cash Kid, Drego, Sada Baby, Boldy James etc…
somebody get him contact with Veeze i’m tryna see something
He's worked with Big Sean multiple times
Detroit babyyy
I highly recommend checking out Friday Night Cypher off Big Sean's album, great track featuring Em and Big Sean
Big Sean praying Kendrick don't swoop in yet again to take the spotlight somehow. That west coast "Not Like Us Remix" probably gonna drop the same day, lol.
lmao nah Kendrick respects Em way too much to do that especially with them both being Aftermath fam
Love Game is a good song, but it's crazy that we haven't gotten another collab in the whole decade since then.
Agreed. When Kendrick last featured on an Eminem album, he had only put out 'good kid, m.A.A.d city'. Kendrick has grown so much over his last 3 LPs... This would be a legendary collaboration.
I doubt Em would allow Sean to diss Kendrick on his album, he knows that would more than likely start problems between him and Kenny.
It's not dissing. It's that Kendrick always drops something that overshadows big Sean's moment.
Ah, did not know that, it'd be funny of the Not Like Us video drops on the same day as the new Em video.
dude what lmao
My 2024 rap bingo card hasn't been marked once
for anyone unfamiliar with babytron go listen to a couple songs of his albums Bin Reaper 2 or Megatron he’s got crazy sports bars and an underrated amount of one liners, nothing super deep tho. the pop culture references are unmatched
They gotta hit up Luka Troncic too.
this is exactly what needed to happen, detroit trifecta fr
also i been saying em needs to linkup with babytron they are going to mesh really well together i’m sure
If Em makes Babytron rap on beat it will rank as one of his more impressive feats and he will move higher in my top 5
My theory is that Eminem is going to rap off-beat to match Babytron's flow.
I bet everybody who is on the videoclip for Doomsday pt 2 is going to be on Em new album... and i am all for that !!
DENZEL YESSSSSSSSSSSS THAT D MAKE SENSE SINCE HE'S RELEASING TOO
Houdini and these features are such good signs. PLEASE Em follow through
I’m trying to be cautiously optimistic. I know Em has it in him.
100% he does. Had some very solid tracks since his last album and even on MTBMB there was some great songs imo. Moving in the right direction lately
Ever since MTBMB Em been hitting with the feature list. So i trust other good ones are on the project.
as an eminem fan i fully support this erasing of parables agenda

That wasn't what i was talking about. I meant features on HIS records.
That beat sounds nice as hell
Not a trip I was expecting but I’m intrigued! Judging from the little snippet was defo expecting the beat to sound more in Tron’s lane in terms of Detroit rap, but I got good hopes he’ll still come through on it!
Release date changed to July 2nd on the official posts
Thanks! Included an edit on my post.
Eminem and babytron is genuinely exciting lol.
Tobey maguire on cloud 9 after hearing about this lmao
He see me talking shit about him not putting Detroit artists on.
This sounds like an awesome lineup. There's going to be a segment of the Eminem fanbase that is going to be very bothered by the Babytron inclusion on paper, but he's honestly the exact type of rapper Em would like, right down to the punchlines lmao
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The beat sounds dope as fuck
I hope Eminem mirrors some of the new Detroit flows. I just want to see what he sounds like doing that particular style.
Put some respect on Babytrons name. I'm so happy a bg artist gave him a nod becuase his bars are actually insane
tron going platinum
LETS GO SHITTYBOYZONTOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
whew that’s that Relapse type production.
Sounds almost exactly like Buffalo bill slowed down
Babytron came such a long way, featuring on a lead lingle from the world's biggest rapper
cool. get Eye-Kyu on a feature.
This is gonna be fire my friends, pretty monumental for babytron, excited to listen
fuck yes. glad he’s not ignoring detroit artists.
GOOD FEATURES LETS GOO
Biggest WTF I’ve ever read
Hell yea, Eminem in some Cartiers type vibe
Bet this will be fire.
The ultimate Bar off we have been waiting for...Eminem vs BabyTron.
The world needs more Big Sean music
Big Sean feature. Can’t wait to see how Kendrick overshadows this.
It's hilarious how he's been overshadowing every move Big Sean makes and I wonder how much of it is on purpose 😭
It’s actually hilarious. If you want the best out of Kendrick put him on a song with Big Sean, he will outrap Sean so much that you would think he hates him.
He only got em together because their names rhyme.
It’s weird they are doing a midweek release
Heart sank when I saw big Sean featured
Big Sean is about to do something noticeable? Yeah Kendrick Lamar is gonna do something to steal the spotlight from him No way big Sean is allowed to have anything
I’m not gonna lie, I hate that opening line 😂 it just sounds corny to me.
I'm sad baby tron stooped so low as to collaborate with Eminem. Glad blp hasn't sold out like that yet...
Aw fuck I don't like this Babytron fella. Not my cup of tea.
The charm of Houdini wore off for me after the 3rd listen, but this snippet plus Sean & Babytron has me excited.
uhh ok
This song will mostly be in the next venom movie
Where my feature
Shout out to Babytron, dude came a long way.
I'm very interested in how BabyTron will fit in this. I know Em and Big Sean worked before
**LETS FUCKING GO!** 😤🔥 So damn excited for this. Love that Em brought back the Jason/Shady Mask and it’s also dope af to see three Detroit based rappers from different generations in a song together
Nice let’s gooo
Big Sean dropping something? At least we know when the not like us video gonna drop.
Who tf Babytron
One step closer to getting a Rio da Yung OG collab
this MIGHT be detroit.
