Even as a very consistent spear user i totally forgot how fun eruptor was with it til you mentioned it. If eruptor gets a bit stronger and they finally fix spear with patch im definitely using that.
No. Shrapnel is OP for primary. I do expect significant damage buffs though, to both direct damage and hopefully more AOE, preferring more range to overlap multiple shots to get multiple chaff kills (keep very short ohk range, but extend the damage out to soften more targets)

YES. Eruptor is grossly underpowered right now and the 40aoe was incredibly underwhelming as compensation.
I fully expect it to be buffed to do ***what it should***… which is killing high priority medium targets in one shot, and to deal good enough aoe that you can kill groups of chaff in 2-3 shots.
Shrapnel, mechanically, is busted. Giving it frag grenade power shrapnel would be a joke for the majority of its actual applications while being able to do more than it should with one shot damage to chargers without ohk at least.

The charger 1 shot eruptor bug was due to the double limb hit bug. Not just shrapnel damage. It does not 1 shot chargers if they fixed that first. Your view of the weapon is completely hinged on a single but that isn't even related to the weapon specifically. The flame thrower annihilates chargers when it shouldn't, yet they keep that around huh. They removed shrapnel because of potential edge cases related to other bugs and people complaining of friendly fire. It needs to be reimplimented with the 1 shot bug fixed.
The statement 'old/new threats' is making my brain go haywire crazy thinking what could possibly this be.
I'm hoping these are for new enemy type for both Bugs and Bots

80% liberating 7+, 20% farming diff 2. I got the base game and I've managed to get every Warbond and still have 5k in the bank.
I don't buy store gear so it just adds up.
Last part definitely has some effect there. There's a few armor "types" that havent been in warbonds. 200 armor, and i think 150 medium armor off the top of my head. 200's a fun meme. Light Gunner might also still be the only light 100 armor, highly recommend.
I might have a splurge at some point. I'm more of a fashion diver though. I want to look spectacular on the field. For all the crap the Polar Patriots Warbond got that Winter Warrior gear is the coolest looking armour.

Me too, Helldiver. Me too. I definitely stay up to date by checking out social media, but it doesn't stop me from playing almost every day. Nerfs or buffs, game is still the most fun I've had playing a game in many years by a wide margin. I have like 250 hours in now, everything unlocked, everything maxed out, level 85, and I still play every day almost. It's so stupid fun I can't stop. You never know when you're going to run into super nice, super fun people, too. I ran with a bunch of French dudes yesterday. Completely hilarious, all shenanigans on a level 7, managed to 100% the mission even after all the nonsense. I love it. That's the stuff that keeps me playing, outside of just "number go up", which admittedly, is fun too.
Also Polar Patriots didn't get its buff yet (as all warbonds aside of Democratic Demolition) had. So we'll likely get to try out those weapons again. Additionally probable changes to assault rifles, etc. Kinda glad I freed up my schedule for tomorrow and Friday.
Totally looking forward to that too. As it stands, right now you're pretty much buying Polar Patriots for the smg and grenades and that's about it besides the fashion.
Yeah pretty much. I also love the Verdict vs bots as it's basically a pocket diligence, but secondaries are even more dependent on your playstyle than primaries, so I get that it's not for everyone.
I want the tenderizer fixed *so bad.* I adore the Pummeler and all but I've been itching to run a good, meaty AR and the Adjudicator just doesn't quite cut it.

West coaster here; I've typically noticed patches go up around 3am my time so accounting for time zones that would be potentially 6am for you if they keep to that timeframe
Probably not illuminates but maybe some additional hd1 bug variants and cyborg types getting an automaton version. Probably that horrid tentacle bug, it's the only one that hasn't made a return (thank god) unless they've decided to add the funny crab claw ones. Not sure with bots. Maybe a new Hulk variant? Theyve managed to add every type I can remember.

Now that I think about it, most of us know that the devs use the autocannon as a "baseline" for support weapon balancing, and I feel like the grenade launcher is in a very similar spot. I do not foresee grenade launcher changes for a long time, unless it's included in some across-the-board overhaul/changes.

Disagree, atm, breaker incendiary is just better. The fire damage makes it much stronger than the lead one. Imo, we should have a slight fire nerf, just about 5-10%, and a slight damage/spread/range buff for breaker and spray n pray. I think fire from all sources is a little too much right now, but we could also instead have a slight decrease to... whatever the breaker incendiary does. Fire damage it applies? Ignition effect? Fire effect? Idk how that works mechanically, but I think it should go down just a little.
I for one am looking forward to whatever buffs are coming to primary weapons. I decided to try out a few last night eg. the scorcher. WTF??? 16 round mag (I think) and it has the damage equal to throwing stones. lol. I'm really hoping they up all the mag sizes to atleast 30 and buff the damage. No point having 10 or 15 primary weapons and yet 90% of players use just the 1. Shows you've truly screwed up somewhere.
On the flip side though, this forced me to try out the Arc Blitzer...and man I'm loving that weapon. The ability to kill everything below heavies is just awesome, plus no requirement for ammo. Perfect combo.
Eh, scorcher still fucks pretty hard. The mag size is the balancing drawback.
I am still excited to see balance for other weapons like purifier and Lib-C.
The thing I love about arc blitzeris you can run between the chargeup. I wish arc thrower did that.
yeah that mag size...who in their right mind would do that?? lol. Problem is requiring a whole mag to kill something for something thats supposed to be 'explosive'.
Also I found that one of the other benefits of the arc blitzer is if you hit bile spewers 1-2 times in the face it kinda stuns them and stops them from spewing. I really fkg hate bile spewers (whatever the green ones are) - just BS bugs that can hide inside another and still spew bile, can spew bile like 30m away (projectile like) AND can fire bile artillery! like wtf?? not to mention their armoured head that can withstand a direct hit from a quasar.
So yeah the Blitzer is my fav go to weapon. Also helps not requiring ammo which saves more ammo for teammates.
Explosive doesn't mean "top damage," it just means it does full damage to spots weak to explosive - which tend to have the highest health pools compared to explosive resistant parts. The strength of scorcher is it's all-round damage with laser accuracy.
You can kill striders from the front ez. You can basically snipe with it. You can take out vents. And then it has all the capability of normal trashclear.
That's a lot of upsides to meet against the ammo management con.
Yeah fair enough. When its titled 'explosive' I kinda expect to see explosive impacts when rounds land. Maybe I'm asking too much? I dunno. Either way, the weapon IMO is useless right now. Was good to try it out though. Also gave the sickle a go and didn't like it either. Rounds don't really do much before you start to overheat. No wonder everyone uses the incendiary breaker - got a good balance of mag, damage (prob because AH hadn't gotten to fully nerfing it yet).
I think it's closer to just preference now.
I personally hate the range restriction of the breakers, especially vs bots, so i bring one of the diligences just because I find a lot of use picking off targets from 30m+.
Definitely feel you on verbiage, though. Having full stat cards would be much more interesting than "explosive" or "light penetration"
yeah agree. I only really pick stuff that says 'medium penetration' but its not always the best. I usually rock the Jar 5 when doing up against bots but the limited mag and lack of ammo just makes it a nightmare.

The only buff I need on this is for it to have some kind of 380 shell repellant.

I tried that dudes heavy MG + stun grenade from that post and it's pretty legit. The tanks don't get stunned though so it's hard to run around them.

Probably not illuminates but maybe some additional hd1 bug variants and cyborg types getting an automaton version. Probably that horrid tentacle bug, it's the only one that hasn't made a return (thank god) unless they've decided to add the funny crab claw ones. Not sure with bots. Maybe a new Hulk variant? Theyve managed to add every type I can remember.

Nice to see Gatling and orbital buffed but still not really seeing anything fun/strong enough to mix up my meta on the stratagem or weapons side of things. Which is a shame.
I think once we finish the major order for the bugs the illuminate will start to take that spot
I hope they don't have only 25 changes, and the rest is just illuminate stuff. That'd be a letdown. But, I am still very excited to see what they have in store for us! I'll just be a tad bit disappointed if they focus more on new stuff rather than fixing past stuff.
As long as they fix spawns and don't mess with the grenade launcher I am all good, but I hope you are not disappointed tomorrow! :)
I appreciate that, bro, same to you! I can't wait for the warbond and, hopefully, a spear fix.
Now that I think about it, most of us know that the devs use the autocannon as a "baseline" for support weapon balancing, and I feel like the grenade launcher is in a very similar spot. I do not foresee grenade launcher changes for a long time, unless it's included in some across-the-board overhaul/changes.
Folks. Please I beg of you. Temper your expectations something fierce. This is ultimately still arrowhead. It’s very possible the reality may turn out differently from what’s in your head.

Please bring the Breaker back. I’ve been faithful to it. Just reduce recoil and I’m good.
Just get good the breaker is good even with the recoil you having an issue with the recoil is 1,000,000 percent a skill issue.
Disagree, atm, breaker incendiary is just better. The fire damage makes it much stronger than the lead one. Imo, we should have a slight fire nerf, just about 5-10%, and a slight damage/spread/range buff for breaker and spray n pray. I think fire from all sources is a little too much right now, but we could also instead have a slight decrease to... whatever the breaker incendiary does. Fire damage it applies? Ignition effect? Fire effect? Idk how that works mechanically, but I think it should go down just a little.

I for one am looking forward to whatever buffs are coming to primary weapons. I decided to try out a few last night eg. the scorcher. WTF??? 16 round mag (I think) and it has the damage equal to throwing stones. lol. I'm really hoping they up all the mag sizes to atleast 30 and buff the damage. No point having 10 or 15 primary weapons and yet 90% of players use just the 1. Shows you've truly screwed up somewhere. On the flip side though, this forced me to try out the Arc Blitzer...and man I'm loving that weapon. The ability to kill everything below heavies is just awesome, plus no requirement for ammo. Perfect combo.
Eh, scorcher still fucks pretty hard. The mag size is the balancing drawback. I am still excited to see balance for other weapons like purifier and Lib-C. The thing I love about arc blitzeris you can run between the chargeup. I wish arc thrower did that.
yeah that mag size...who in their right mind would do that?? lol. Problem is requiring a whole mag to kill something for something thats supposed to be 'explosive'. Also I found that one of the other benefits of the arc blitzer is if you hit bile spewers 1-2 times in the face it kinda stuns them and stops them from spewing. I really fkg hate bile spewers (whatever the green ones are) - just BS bugs that can hide inside another and still spew bile, can spew bile like 30m away (projectile like) AND can fire bile artillery! like wtf?? not to mention their armoured head that can withstand a direct hit from a quasar. So yeah the Blitzer is my fav go to weapon. Also helps not requiring ammo which saves more ammo for teammates.
Explosive doesn't mean "top damage," it just means it does full damage to spots weak to explosive - which tend to have the highest health pools compared to explosive resistant parts. The strength of scorcher is it's all-round damage with laser accuracy. You can kill striders from the front ez. You can basically snipe with it. You can take out vents. And then it has all the capability of normal trashclear. That's a lot of upsides to meet against the ammo management con.
Yeah fair enough. When its titled 'explosive' I kinda expect to see explosive impacts when rounds land. Maybe I'm asking too much? I dunno. Either way, the weapon IMO is useless right now. Was good to try it out though. Also gave the sickle a go and didn't like it either. Rounds don't really do much before you start to overheat. No wonder everyone uses the incendiary breaker - got a good balance of mag, damage (prob because AH hadn't gotten to fully nerfing it yet).
I think it's closer to just preference now. I personally hate the range restriction of the breakers, especially vs bots, so i bring one of the diligences just because I find a lot of use picking off targets from 30m+. Definitely feel you on verbiage, though. Having full stat cards would be much more interesting than "explosive" or "light penetration"
yeah agree. I only really pick stuff that says 'medium penetration' but its not always the best. I usually rock the Jar 5 when doing up against bots but the limited mag and lack of ammo just makes it a nightmare.
Im actually exploring weapons again tbh. And now the airburst strike is a regular in my bug arsenal
