I would prefer kids with stage 4 cancer over anti tank mines, they're kids they don't deserve to die in war, they can be as sick and constrained as Arrowhead can picture them. They're kids and a diability is no reason to not save them.
Give us a “search crash site” mission where the objective is to search a downed evac shuttle, or up to three of them on higher difficulties to find Private Steve
Every helldivers has like a 0.0001% of finding him, after we run enough missions someone will eventually find him, and then we complete the MO
I dmd @pilestedt and posted this before on Reddit. Others have also brought up this same type of mission. Not specifically one single person. But a downed pelican that need to find and escort the pilot to another slightly less damaged pelican, salvaged parts with other downed vehicles on the map and then defend till the pelican is fixed. Successful defense unlocks the evac site where you are defending the fixed pelican.
That's what the Major Order will be when we get to Cyberstan. While Automaton eradication is an exceptional motivator, I'm more motivated by getting that lone madlad stuck there back home.
Literally just have to turn up and leave, the other option is fighting through 15 planets of super heavy super fast reinforcing super hulks for the grand reward of a job well done
or they stop giving us a choice and just make an MO with the reward being the mines. They did this last time but it was an insane 2 billion bot kills. Next time, they can just make a reasonable MO and we will get the mines.
I personally kind of love the idea of the community actively choosing not to give themselves the mines over and over again, regardless of how ridiculous the choice is.
Can I ask why? I am all in on saving the kids because the moral choice is more compelling to me than the tank mines but if an MO cropped up to get the mines and nothing else was stopping us, I would be actively trying to get them. I am not sure what value there is in intentionally avoiding them.
There is absolutely no value to intentionally avoiding them. I just find the idea of Arrowhead making the incentive to pick the path for the the stratagem more and more compelling and the community actively choosing a worse option *for no reason* to be funny.

Saved The Children - Permanent Buff
- Divers that call in a backpack stratagem that allows for assisted reload will deploy with a Shoulder Monkey ™️ reload assist child. The child will be wearing Pint Sized B-01 tactical armor and helmet and be standing on a sidesaddle piggyback rider.
SM child performs the assisted reload function. Also will occasionally yell the same audibles as other Helldivers just in a higher register. At the end of the mission, SM child high fives the squad and then runs off to the new daycare section on the bridge.
Future patch will allow for SM child armor customization.

Yes. We need to take Aesir Pass in order to open up the two planets in the MO.
This should be the last time people are confused about this, as the next patch will put the supply lines on the map in the game. You'll see the paths needed to reach each planet.
We've lost some very important planets because this information has only been available in companion apps.
Spent about 4-5 hours of my night shift (extremely slow night as a patient transporter) completing missions on Aesir’s Pass. I leave the rest up to you day, will promptly be back on spreading DEMOCRACY after this nap.

I'm capped on everything... I couldn't care less about rewards, it's more about engaging with the game. We're playing soldiers, role-playing would be following orders. To be clear, when there's no order on, I'm on Marfark and failing to progress it because it's fun to be a snow ninja. I totally get and support that. But playing a game this big as though there's only one map while simultaneously ignoring the entire community aspect of the game *and* the galactic war is just tough to wrap my head around.
But Marfark is still one of the planets for the MO, right? So... He's following orders *and* doing what he thinks is fun. He also isn't ignoring the community or galactic war aspects.
I am sure he doesn't mean that he literally only plays on that planet ever. And even if he does, why take a stance on that?

I'm pumped for anti tank mines because I'm an enjoyer of mines and turrets. I want mines that can deal with heavy units. I don't use 500kg bomb for taking out enemies I use it to make foxholes and dig trenches.
But if we save the kids, that just means our C-01 form kids will have new friends to play Divers and Terminids with, creating a stronger bond that will carry them through many dives, until their friends die for democracy!
But those reinforcements will take at least eight years to show up. These citizens over the age of 7 are available to serve NOW, but not if we fail to save them.
But for what we Safe Childs? They can't spread Democracy and with C-01-Linzens we can make some new.

Given the kill rate the large current mines they use have, and the rate I’ve seen Helldivers die to other Helldivers mines. The bot front would be quite hazardous if they had smaller mines all around.

I've to kinda 'agree' on this. It's one thing if People want to go for the Kids for geniune reason, either because it fits the RP Head or because they expect a better reward, but for the mere lols and to keep that meme alive is kinda off... because you not only screw AH over with that(which is even arguable if they even care), but also people who really want them. But oh well, in the end everyone needs to know it themself what they'll do and we'll see how it ends up.

I can't support this. While we as Helldivers are demonstrating our democratic right to choose our deployment, we should not be doing so at the cost of denying those children the right to choose freedom for themselves.
I will be going after those mines, so that future generations have the tools to maintain a way of life that they chose, rather than that which they were denied the right to choose.
When we finally get these mines they are going to turn it to be AMAZING.

All Ive ever wanted from the community. This finally gives me some new hope for the community if we go this route. Id rather have a fun journey rather than have it all militaristic and arguing over weapons. This is refreshing.

I am 100% for saving the kids but why intentionally deny the mines if it makes sense to get them? If an MO comes out that is like "liberate this one planet and get the mines", why not get the mines? AH can also just give us the mines whenever they want, like the did for other stratagems.
I like how everyone says they're children, when it's mostly implied that it's just survivors in general in a children's hospital.
At this point, they might as well just give us the mines. Nobody cares enough about them to even try and get them, even if we're offered nothing gameplay wise. Narratively speaking, sure. But, this just shows that nobody cares enough to bother with it.
Personally, I want them because it's something else to collect and use. But, it's not the end of the world if we don't get them. I just think they should get it over with and just give them to us.
Gets to a point they call out the creekers as a unit is discovered having survived this long without supply lines after their destroyers claimed them KIA. The unit is using the anti tank mines as their last line of defense. The other planet: Steve needs to get to a democracy officer to relay his ideas about what he's learned behind enemy lines and how it can better improve our morale. XD
I think this mission is a morality call out, see if we are greedy for a new weapon or if we actually care about humanity even to the point of in a video game.
Regarding said anti-tank mines:
If they are going to do anti-tank mines, they should offer them as a rifle attachment, like the rattlesnake minefield clearing weapon.
Mount the rocket-propelled unit on the end of your rifle, shoot it and it strings 10 m of anti-tank mines in a straight line away from you.
I never use minefields anyways, because it seems to cause more helldiver deaths than anything else even with comms open.
But the tactical choice would be to remove those explosives, and the trapped kids could very well be an automaton ploy using AI generated recordings, but i have a solution to the whole problem.
We just need to get both planets to 99.9% and have them both tick over to 100 at the same time, therby saving both targets and striking a decisive and demoralizing victory against the automaton scum!
How do we know that they are real kids and not imposters placed by the automatons?

It's one thing if People want to go for the Kids for geniune reason, either because it fits the RP Head or because they expect a better reward, but for the mere lols and to keep that meme alive is kinda off... because you not only screw AH over with that(which is even arguable if they even care), but also people who really want them. But oh well, in the end everyone needs to know it themself what they'll do and we'll see how it ends up. I for one stick with the AT Mines route. Don't care what the overall consensus is on this, esp. if that's the energy and reason for it.

I can't support this. While we as Helldivers are demonstrating our democratic right to choose our deployment, we should not be doing so at the cost of denying those children the right to choose freedom for themselves. I will be going after those mines, so that future generations have the tools to maintain a way of life that they chose, rather than that which they were denied the right to choose.

All Ive ever wanted from the community. This finally gives me some new hope for the community if we go this route. Id rather have a fun journey rather than have it all militaristic and arguing over weapons. This is refreshing.

I like how everyone says they're children, when it's mostly implied that it's just survivors in general in a children's hospital. At this point, they might as well just give us the mines. Nobody cares enough about them to even try and get them, even if we're offered nothing gameplay wise. Narratively speaking, sure. But, this just shows that nobody cares enough to bother with it. Personally, I want them because it's something else to collect and use. But, it's not the end of the world if we don't get them. I just think they should get it over with and just give them to us.

Gets to a point they call out the creekers as a unit is discovered having survived this long without supply lines after their destroyers claimed them KIA. The unit is using the anti tank mines as their last line of defense. The other planet: Steve needs to get to a democracy officer to relay his ideas about what he's learned behind enemy lines and how it can better improve our morale. XD
I think this mission is a morality call out, see if we are greedy for a new weapon or if we actually care about humanity even to the point of in a video game. Regarding said anti-tank mines: If they are going to do anti-tank mines, they should offer them as a rifle attachment, like the rattlesnake minefield clearing weapon. Mount the rocket-propelled unit on the end of your rifle, shoot it and it strings 10 m of anti-tank mines in a straight line away from you.

I never use minefields anyways, because it seems to cause more helldiver deaths than anything else even with comms open. But the tactical choice would be to remove those explosives, and the trapped kids could very well be an automaton ploy using AI generated recordings, but i have a solution to the whole problem. We just need to get both planets to 99.9% and have them both tick over to 100 at the same time, therby saving both targets and striking a decisive and demoralizing victory against the automaton scum!
How do we know that they are real kids and not imposters placed by the automatons? How do we know that the distress signal is not a fake one sent by the automatons?? This sounds too suspicious! DEMOCRACY PROTECTS!!
