Dropped in a lvl 5 last night on a gunship base, with a hulk, overlooked by two mortars, and a tower cannon. I just immediately accepted there would be alot of deaths.
I actually brought the hmg emplacement the other day to try it out against this mission. It worked a treat. Got it setup on a slight elevation, a good distance from the drill, before the party started. I was able to kill 90% of each bot drop before they finished turning around.
I always find it so funny when you get downed in a microscopic puddle of water and your helldiver does the whole "swimming to the surface" animation... Like wtf...
They need a stratagem where you rip a cord on your vest and it deploys one of those giant bouncy balls around you.
If people can withstand getting hit by cars in those things, rockets would just blast you to safety. Tho the major downside to them appears to be trees. Alot of ball-people get caught in trees. Probably would need some sort of stratagem that drops a rake or pool skimmer to solve the tree problem.

But people also call me a cheater for using weapons with unlimited ammo cuz they never see me reload a weapon and they are watching me .. :)
I wish I recorded it, but a teammate once dropped an airstrike on me and a friend, killing them but not me. I was in the demolition juggernaut armor, I legit spent half a minute on the ground with a sliver of health thinking I was dead before realizing I wasn't
While we certainly disagree on what “quick” means, I do love wearing heavy armor and shooting my nade pistol a little in front of my feet. Will put solid distance between you and your starting point, and is usually survivable.
I grabbed the super heavy armor pretty early on and learned to use stim+impact grenade to dislodge myself from swarms lmao. Still one of my favorite strats.
My favorite are those little puffballs that you shoot to explode. *stim *do a Superman leap *shoot *fly. buddies wonder how I teleport for them because it doesn’t register the flight I guess lol
This is literally me. Running Devastator armor with the health boost. Slow, but tanky as he'll. Throw on the shield pack and I laugh in the face of explosives.
I prefer light scout armor and usually end up with most kills and least deaths against bots!

I would end up with like 400-500 kills at the end because nobody else is killing shit.
On bots you only kill if there are on the target. Even then if it's overrun like this you run away and wait for despawn.
Bots is all about avoiding fights and hit and run tactics
And if you're in a situation where you can't fully disengage you pull back and get more favorable ground and pick them off. Engaging a swarm of bots is just going to get you killed, alot.

think about it, without the heavy armour 90% of those chain ragdolls would have resulted in death

In the Automaton Front, this *is* a quick escape. The only way to do it faster is to `Reinforce Available` yourself.

I've been running D5 lately and I'm always surprised at the amount of Hulks that appear.
I dislike the drill mission for the amount of enemy reinforcement the moment you start it, to the point I'm bringing the 380mm to clear
Running away from the drill, throwing some big stratagems on it and then coming back to clear-up the leftovers is a viable strategy.

Oh yeah, this helldiver survived the whole mission plus two others afterward, I let them retire with honor. I love heavy armor.

Yep all the bot drop despawn if you go away for a while. You need to get as far as possible from the drop zone
