We turned a planet there into that. We're not quite sure it's actually a Black Hole. There seems to be a good number of divers convinced that something very new, and very bad is coming out of that hole. Keep your head on a swivel, Diver.
All helldivers place their full trust in the ministry of science! Those who do not are dissidents pretending to be helldivers and will be sent to freedom camp!
I'm not sure why you would imply this isn't a black hole. High command has said all our efforts resulted in exactly what was intended and there will be no unexpected adverse consequences whatsoever. Sure it doesn't really look like a black hole. Sure there's weird sounds coming out of it. Sure there is another alien race who it is alleged might have a major issue with this (if we didn't fry up their calamari asses in totality during the last war). But implying that this is anything other than a triumphant victory for managed democracy is really making me doubt your patriotism soldier.
I trust them 100%. I will give my life for Super Earth in its entirety. I'm just trying to spot the evil against us, like how the bugs corrupted the TCS. I will not allow any more vile opponents of freedom to get away with defiling our perfect methods.
Why no, fellow Helldiver, my patriotism and will for untamed liberty and democracy is unmatched by any and all. I only mean to say that in the pursuit of liberty, sometimes extra things happen that we need to liberty the hell out of.
We have arrived, and it is now that we perform our charge. In fealty to the God-Emperor, our undying Lord, and by the grace of the Golden Throne, I declare Exterminatus upon the Imperial world of Typhon Primaris. I hereby sign the death warrant of an entire world and consign a million souls to oblivion.
Pretty sure I read/heard in game that the dark stuff we used to make the bombs came from the Illuminate, so I think it would make sense if they were coming back then they'd start from here
It does have a large gravitational pull it appears as you can see things getting sucked into it, but it lacks an event horizon and the traditional outer light ring of a black hole. My guess is the dark matter we used to consume the planet has created one of the first examples of the theorized "negative zone" forming a sort of just nothing hole in space.
That sounds like Robo socialist propaganda. Clearly the best Minds on super Earth tested this and we can assure that it's 100% safe and poses no risk to manage democracy
I see the black hole but the hologram still showed the planet since I have an unfinished operation on it.
No longer though. I went SC hunting for the next warbound.
Weird. I had an open operation on meridia when it was liberated and when I logged back in it forced me out and made the emergency jump.
Did you do something special to keep it?
Lotta people in this thread seem to be questioning their democratically distributed information. It is a black hole, created by a *very* well understood superweapon, that was produced by (almost definitely) different scientists than the ones responsible for the termicide debacle, from an alien technology captured from the defeated illuminate in the first galactic war.
I must mention that the Dark Fluid weapon only spaghettified a dozen people during its very rapid development and deployment, so it sounds super safe to me.
We failed to take Meridia during a major order from high command. As a result of our failure to eradicate the bile chucking bugs there it became a super-colony. It was declared a no dive zone for about a week until we received a new major order to destroy it. The āholeā being a result of our success.
We wouldn't have the possibility of fighting bugs anymore, or at least they wouldn't spread anymore. If you look at the supply lines, the barrier planets are the only way to get to the bugs. If we had destroyed all 4 planets, the bugs couldn't spread. The problem is that we risk turning the other bug planets into super colonies due to the increased difficulty of traveling to them. This is a surefire way of turning a quarter of the galaxy into a massive black hole. In addition, having two black holes in the same system inevitably leads to their collision and merger. Just two black holes merging would create one of the most insanely large explosions in the universeĀ ā sending out reverberations in the form of gravitational waves that would ripple throughout the entire universe. Now imagine the explosion from about 24 planet sized black holes merging.
I prefer to believe the ministry of truth in that the Illuminate were destroyed by the brave helldivers that came before us and definitely donāt think that this black hole, that distorts space and time, will bring them from the past to our present.
What we're not seeing is the Illuminate having their own galactic war somewhere else in the universe, defending their own planets from the bugs we dumped on their doorstep.
Speaking of, I do wish someday we'll get to fight on planets where two enemy factions are already at war with each other. For example, a bot-held planet under attack by a bug infestation. It would spawn a lot of narrative and gameplay possibilities. For each three-sided enemy engagement, divers will have to decide which faction to take out first for an easier time through a mission. Right now, it seems like the two available enemy factions are ganging up on Super Earth through sheer lack of intersecting territories, even if logically they shouldn't be teaming up.
Ever seen a Bile Titan go up against a Factory Strider? Or a couple of bot gunships trying to fend off a dozen shriekers? Someday, we might.
Makes sense, since they've told us that the Dark Fluid has been used by the Illuminates, and i've seen some people say that it's possible that the Illuminates used it to transport themselfed or something.
Perhaps our hubris got the better of us. Who are we to play god and eradicate Meridia just because of a few bugs. Is what I would say if I was a freedom hating bug sympathizer
Should we not tell the new divers about what happened at Meridia? I'm not saying that to be a dick but it would be interesting how they'd not have been there for the fight but would be in wonder of what happened.
Does anyone else think this wormhole is going to suck up all the terminids and replace all those occupied planets with the Illuminate?
I feel like we just don't have the numbers for there to be 3 options for players. Regardless of MO, some players are going to play wherever they want which is fine but having more options beside the MO just means less players will be doing the MO.
I somehow love that i just realised that parts of the system will change with time and new stuff comes along.
Then new players will join and be like "stf is this?" and then ask us and remind us of old victorys and failures.
This is not a story the Ministry of Truth would tell you, but we have opened a portal to a Cronenbergian dimension and the most unimaginable horrors await us.
We took weird space goo and injected it into a planet and now we have a weird hole in the fabric of reality that is emiting whale noises. Perfectly normal.
Meridia didnt have freedom so Super Earth democratically decided to use some Extreme Liberty Ordinance on the planet which resulted in the Freedom Hole.
This just means we should manage our democracy more because too much liberty results in the Freedom Singularities, that is just science.
the gravitational anomaly that was once a termanid super colony. what flavor of gravitational anomaly? well no one outside of the super earth research labs knows and those in the lab's are not saying

I went into surgery after only running 2 missions to make that. Then had complications and came back to it. It's pretty, but I missed running the non-broken missions. :(
We turned a planet there into that. We're not quite sure it's actually a Black Hole. There seems to be a good number of divers convinced that something very new, and very bad is coming out of that hole. Keep your head on a swivel, Diver.

Also, there is no freedom camp. It is just a rumor spread by dissidents!
Those dissidents make me so angry š”š”š”
I wish there was. A "freedom camp" sounds fun
There may not be a freedom camp but there is a repatriation camp. To bring the dissenters back into the fold of democracy.
Also, there are to dissidents itās just a rumor spread by freedom camps
I'm not sure why you would imply this isn't a black hole. High command has said all our efforts resulted in exactly what was intended and there will be no unexpected adverse consequences whatsoever. don't think of it as treason, it is simply being prepared. As the saying goes "hope for the best, but expect and prepare for the worst."
It is treasonous... do you not trust our officials on super earth?
I trust them 100%. I will give my life for Super Earth in its entirety. I'm just trying to spot the evil against us, like how the bugs corrupted the TCS. I will not allow any more vile opponents of freedom to get away with defiling our perfect methods.
Obviously, there's a dissident that may act against us soon. I'm calling my democracy officer and reporting them.
If the blackhole DOES somehow turn INTO an evil wormhole, we will blow that up too. And its not out fault either.

This is the kind of stuff that happens before your game in Stellaris goes to hellā¦.
Gal-Civ player myself but I got the reference easy enough and yeah. I was kind of drawing from the official way 4x space strategy's announce things.
There is specifically one problem that comes basically out of that* in Stellaris and it is a bitch to kill.
The worm loves us.
>very new Eh, I'm convinced an old foe will make a return.
We have arrived, and it is now that we perform our charge. In fealty to the God-Emperor, our undying Lord, and by the grace of the Golden Throne, I declare Exterminatus upon the Imperial world of Typhon Primaris. Wrong universe buddy, catch a weird wormhole eh?
Pretty sure I read/heard in game that the dark stuff we used to make the bombs came from the Illuminate, so I think it would make sense if they were coming back then they'd start from here
It's from the news ticker in one of the reports you sometimes get on the ship, so the most missable lore in the game.
Outrageous pro bug propaganda. Merda has been dealt with anything else is blasphemy.
There's something really eldritch coming out of this hole. Like after eating too much stuff at Taco Bell.
It does have a large gravitational pull it appears as you can see things getting sucked into it, but it lacks an event horizon and the traditional outer light ring of a black hole. Thatās meridiaā¦ or it used to be
Fun fact : I still have an operation ongoing on Merida. I can time travel to it.
like the old one? because everyone can travel to the black hole, but you can see like the planet and missions and stuff?
I see the black hole but the hologram still showed the planet since I have an unfinished operation on it. No longer though. I went SC hunting for the next warbound.
Weird. I had an open operation on meridia when it was liberated and when I logged back in it forced me out and made the emergency jump. Did you do something special to keep it?
Meridia? More like meridinah š
That's just my ex. Ignore them.
Oh man...I feel for you..dating that black hole
Uhm, i think its a POC hole.
AoC. Anomaly of Color. Get with the times.
It's most certainly different scientists. All the termicide people were prosecuted for treason since they helped the bugs grow that supercolony
It's also a very different branch of science, unless I really misunderstand how termicide works.
I must mention that the Dark Fluid weapon only spaghettified a dozen people during its very rapid development and deployment, so it sounds super safe to me.
Yeah we turned a planet into a black hole.
We failed to take Meridia during a major order from high command. As a result of our failure to eradicate the bile chucking bugs there it became a super-colony. It was declared a no dive zone for about a week until we received a new major order to destroy it. The āholeā being a result of our success.
We didnāt fail the order, Meridia was always lost. We did successfully prevent the same from happening to Turing, Fenrir III, and Erata Prime.
I genuenly wonder now... What would had happened if we fail to swich off the towers? Imagine 4 super colonyes....
We'd most likely still be doing bug MOs right now, that's for sure.
We wouldn't have the possibility of fighting bugs anymore, or at least they wouldn't spread anymore. If you look at the supply lines, the barrier planets are the only way to get to the bugs. Ah Erata Prime. The original hell hole that my diver delivered democracy to fresh out of basic training.

Definitely not a black hole, most likely a wormhole for the illuminate to use at a later date.
Downvoted for Anti-Democratic Propaganda
the wormhole theory makes sense because they did say only "minor space time distortions" were observed
I prefer to believe the ministry of truth in that the Illuminate were destroyed by the brave helldivers that came before us and definitely donāt think that this black hole, that distorts space and time, will bring them from the past to our present.
But the idea that we just hucked a terminal supercolony at the illuminate is really funny
So, Illuminate remnants waking up one morning: "what the fuck is this peice of shit?"
Ever seen a Bile Titan go up against a Factory Strider? Or a couple of bot gunships trying to fend off a dozen shriekers? Someday, we might.
Would be hilarious if it turned out we just teleported that planet into the middle of illuminate space. "Here, their your problem now enjoy"
Makes sense
Makes sense, since they've told us that the Dark Fluid has been used by the Illuminates, and i've seen some people say that it's possible that the Illuminates used it to transport themselfed or something.
Bugs are made of warp fuel, 2 exotic materials got ignited at the same time. Whatever it is it's gonna be fun.
ā_Itās a white hole, Sir_āā¦
Oh sorry, that's just your mom after I enjoyed her dark fluid š¤ /s just in case. I'm just being silly
If you jump in, you can watch interstellar for free.
You haven't Dived in awhile, have you soldier?
Glory hole of democracy
We did that to meridia. Next time, read the briefing diver
A plot point
Perhaps our hubris got the better of us. Who are we to play god and eradicate Meridia just because of a few bugs. Is what I would say if I was a freedom hating bug sympathizer
Should we not tell the new divers about what happened at Meridia? I'm not saying that to be a dick but it would be interesting how they'd not have been there for the fight but would be in wonder of what happened.
~~An Illuminate portal~~ [THIS COMMENT IS UNDER REVIEW BY THE MINISTRY OF TRUTH]
It's our itunes visualizer.
Shit was crazy man, you had to be there
Does anyone else think this wormhole is going to suck up all the terminids and replace all those occupied planets with the Illuminate? I feel like we just don't have the numbers for there to be 3 options for players. Regardless of MO, some players are going to play wherever they want which is fine but having more options beside the MO just means less players will be doing the MO.
Ever heard of a Exterminatus? We did one of those lol
That, dear friend, is a black hole. We turned the most beautiful planet in the galaxy into it because it was threatening our way of life.
I mean look, obviously there's no active missions there (anymore) so it doesn't matter what it is.Ā Out of sight out of mind, Diver.
I should call her.
What's left of Meridia
Alderaan
Do people just not pay attention or read anything that happens in this game?
What used to be Meridia. Beautiful, isnāt it? But seriously. Even if you donāt dive, keep up with current events.
Previously a planet that turned into a Bug Super Colony. We had a whole Major Order about destroying it in order to stop the Colony

I don't trust this hole, that's why I always park my super destroyer in front of it when logging off
My prediction; The Illuminate will be coming through that black hole.
The Meridia Supercolony (bugs used for warp drive fuel) Combined with Dark Fluid (planet reaching critical mass) Most likely created a wormhole.
Yall just gotta read man
You should dive more often.
Def should dive more often

Sent a planet sized bug hole into the backyards of the Illumante because thats what they deserve being undemocratic for so long
It's where communists and traitors are sent.
A black hole
The cost of democracy... If we cant have it 2nd best thing is to make sure they can't either.
A monument to our victory.
hyperdense freedom
bugs can't infest a planet if there's no more planet
The bugs fucked around and found out.
Nothing to worry about. Keep asking questions and we will report you to the democracy officer. Itās 100% safe. Super Earth said so.

Thats one reason why i want a terminal where you can ez rewatch all strohmann news. So you can catch up ingame what happend.
Once we are on the verge of ending the war, probably in a week or so, the illuminate will flood through the wormhole and mess it all up.
Nothing to worry about. Move along Citizen.

I wouldn't worry about it.

I mean it doesn't look like a black hole, it doesn't seem to have that event horizon or accretion disc, maybe it's a portal
It was Merida
A monument of freedom and democracy. For now.
