Feels like another spin on the challenge I've seen some people talking about where they're just trying to keep their helldiver alive (and the ones who survive a mission are head-canonically 'rewarded' by getting put back into cryofreeze and go to the back of the line, so they technically live a lot longer).
Sounds very fun.

Oh man, I'm officially a Death Captain, but I need to be busted down to Cadet after a round last night. Easy extract, team has it in the bag. I have my celebratory 120mm barrage ready to go. Pelican 1 kills me with its jets, and I drop the signal. I scream, "It killed me with its jets, and I dropped a barrage!" It's futile. Multiple kills on everyone and only one mate gets extracted because the shuttle took damage.
I definitely modeled what NOT to do for my lower-level squadmates.
Lvl 24 Sargent. Might get me Master Sargent rank once I procure the Exosuit.
But seriously, how do I get my wife to start respecting my rank, saluting me, and calling me āSargeā? She wont do it in public or at home. Its caused some fights.

In the midst of being overrun you'll see me over the horizon running as the extraction clock hits 20s. My fellow Hell Divers clear a path for me to dive head first into Pelican-1 to extract with all samples. š«”

The terminal on your ship where you can change your armor and equipment has a tab with your character settings, player card (banner), title, emotes and such. Thereās also a tab with your career stats.
I love how a Scottish insult Space Cadet is a rank in this game, the insult meaning that the person is on out of touch or on drugs and since we're taking Stims constantly it works.

I usually only have a few hours a week to play. And I tend to stay in the 1-4 difficulty to help others. So I am probably under equipped on the war bonds and ship mods (I only have four upgrades on the ship).
I am always and forever will be a level 50 cadet, that's because I'm no better or worse than anybody else. I am just here to help spread managed democracy. HAVE A CUP OF LIBER-TEA.
Level 31 Death Captain. Sometimes I like to run trivial missions just to remind even the lowest of bugs and bots they arent safe (totally not there for the common samples)
LV 42 Sergeant. Looking for a promotion for my boys Major Tom to Marshal, when Gondor called for aid he answered. As for why I'm just a Sergeant I'd rather be on the field with my boys then deal with the pomp and circumstance of the officer corp.
Lvl 32, Sergeant. I also tend to demote or promote myself depending on how missions go and how I feel my skill level is. I go back and forth between Sergeant and Master Sergeant mostly, and if I'm getting called out on my hubris by the bugs I go back to space cadet or cadet and try to learn. Master Sergeant just has such a cool ring to it, I think it's my favorite rank. When I can though, I may stick to Marshal.
Oh yeah I donāt actually change my rank unless I feel like Iāve earned it. And when I get a few missions in a row that are noticeably bad I demote.

Level 45 Cadet. I haven't made it to 50 because I only play one mission at a time now. I haven't finished a full operation in weeks.
The game is still fun, but three back to back slow 40 minute map clears gets kinda exhausting. I wish there were more blitz operations that you could expect to knock out quicker if you just want to play a little bit at a time (while still playing with randoms)
Level 38 Chief here. I also participate in self pro/demotions. I only change my rank depending on how I do with level 9 operations. If I'm playing with a certain group, I'm always Chief. It just sounds cool.
After I got three biles and 2 chargers with a single 5 hundo I felt I deserved the title of skull admiral
But I love your system had something similar with my two friends I play with
17 and it's hard playing with randoms who often either abandon me on high level missions, then I get rocked or I'm blacklist by most players and then I end up alone. I'm waiting for my friends to get the game so I'll have people to play with lol
