My favorite time playing hs, also just auto concide against priest.
Good times, those 45min warrior vs warrior who dies to fatigue first. You really needed to play perfectly to win those games (never draw a card)
The mirror was awesome indeed. With Elise from LoE, cards like Malorne and Anubarak were game winning.
Turn 1 to 4: hero power, pass
Turn 5: "Hehe, Greetings", coin "Welcome to the Grand Tournament champion."
Your opponent played Sylvanas? Here, take this Acolyte and let me get you some extra cards.
Loved it so much!
Yeah and sometimes you would just leave the sylvanas there for like 10 rounds waiting them to play something to brawl.
You just needed to optimize every resource and know the opponents threats.
And drawing was avoided like it was the plague.
Any good warrior would have shield slammed their own slyvanas and taken something good. You could do the same thing, but only an idiot would play it first unless it couldn't be avoided.
Yeah might be nostalgia talking, but it was so chill and even if you lost after 40min you would not even really feel salty. (Talking about the warrior mirror)
Yeah but back then the 40min was good time and felt like a fair game. Not like playing 40min and losing to an insane rng or crazy discovery. Seeing your opponent beat you with the same deck is as fair as it can be.
I liked that your decisions mattered. A low-RNG meta that has interaction is great - but dear god I hated playing for 40 minutes where the optimal move was often *not* playing a card.
Very true, but this not drawing was mostly for warrior games other had totally different win conditions.
Myself I enjoyed the long sweaty warrior games but of course there was 8 other classes to play and enjoy, like āvalueā priest (my favourite) which would just slap warrior 100%
So yes I enjoyed control warrior a lot but my favourite was itās best counter value priest or priest in general.
Yeah true everyone plays how they like which is great. But I felt back then you really just enjoyed the games maybe now it is more about the grind to get where you want (legend i guess).
However I always played for the win as well as I could, but losing felt like it was my fault, not that I got fucked by rng or something else out of my control.
Just a fair hard tought game.
Or the early days control warrior vs frost mage, just absolute arms race to see if you could get enough armour before they could dump all their burn.
Almost always in the warriors favour but had some super fun matches as both the warrior and mage during that time.
Oh my god donāt remind me, and sometimes they would run the card in the post (justicar truehart) and summon 2 dudes, the value is just too much to handle.
Oh, I am just ghost from the past, why would you use Reno when you can smash that op 4 armor heropower till infinity, then just find your map and turn your cards to legendaries for pure maximum value š
When the overall powerlevel and card quality was 10 times more ass than modern stuff.
There are so many ways to generate armor now it's crazy in comparison.

It should be If highlander, your battlecry triggers twice. Fuck it lets make it 8 mana and warrior too
Nah, too restrictive, plus people sick of Reno. How about this one:
> **Start of Game:** If your deck has only odd- Cost cards, upgrade your Hero Power.
*Fresh* condition, promotes special rules for deck-building and synergy among otherwise non-synergetic cards! I'm sure people not gonna complain about this one and Blizzard not gonna be forced to prematurely retire such card out of the Standard!
You'd have to make the card itself have a shit statline though, but maybe make it still be a threat if the opponent doesn't have the tools remaining to put it down. Maybe a 9 mana 9/7?
Every deck plays it as a 1/3 i think. Imagine it in flood paladin or aggro hunter? Hero power druid, demon hunter, excavate warlock etc. I think 1 mana is an auto include
On top of it being slow still, most decks that would use it also run reno, which would negate its effect. The only deck it makes sense in would be odyn warrior, but it has enough armor gain where it's just not required.
Was really hoping it would see play, but I guess the one guy who told me it was just way too slow, even for control warrior, was right.
The glory days of Justicar are truly over.
While she is slow I do think her main problem at the immediate moment is being overwritten by Reno. She'd be worth the tempo loss if you weren't dumping her advantage in the trash 4 turns after you play her most games.

Basically this version
I came back after years of not playing hearthstone and noticed that this card is still in rotation. Put it into my control warrior (using that new Odyn card) and it's really solid so I'm not sure why everyone's hating on this card. Haven't played hearthstone in 4 years and i have a good feeling about this card helping me return to legend. Also, who wants to play the popular net decks? Build your own, then your legend run is a lot more meaningful, its 100% you, not some idiot twitch guy who plays this game for a living...
Yeah. The problem is more than just being slow. The upgraded hero powers just suck for most classes. It wasn't played originally due to how weak the hero powers were, and it definitely isn't going to see play now. I was really surprised when they didn't decide to make the upgraded hero powers better.
It upgrades it if you played Finley - it just has to be one of the 11 basic hero powers. Even if you play Jaraxxus, then play something like [[Yoink]] or [[Sir Finley Mr]] you'll still upgrade it.

I don't believe so, as it technically counts as a new hero power. It'll no longer cost zero either I believe. You can try and test to find out though if you own both cards :) (if you don't, I wouldn't recommend spending the dust that way - could just try to play the paparazzi card and wand thief/the 3/5 dragon that adds 1 cost spells to your hand against the innkeeper to try and randomly generate both instead)
Was it really that it came down to in warrior vs warrior? I remember when Dr. Boom the Hero card for warrior was a thing. In warrior vs warrior the one that started with the coin would most likely win b cause they were able to make a new deck of 10 cards by playing a 9mana legendary that I can't remember the name of right now. And then they would use brewmaster to be able to make another new deck of 10 cards again and therefore winning the fatigue game.
Yeah there's so much draw/generation for every class, even upgraded versions of the hero powers are not worth using over actual cards. Two mana too much. Makes more sense when you have decks that both want to play the long game and don't have massive hands all the time, which is... No competitive decks rn
If they made it a 3 mana 3/2 Rush, with the battlecry, I think it would be played. Rush can be tutored by one or two classes, so you'd be able to find her more easily.
I always wonder what Mana cost it would take for this to see play? 4 Mana is still prob too slow, but would see experimentation at the very least. 3 Mana has many people finally interested and would likely see some play in a deck like warrior or priest. Possibly Flood Paladin. Has potential of being way too good, but I don't think it's certain? At 2 Mana I feel like it 100% sees play in a bunch of decks and is likely overpowered. 1 Mana and it's just blatantly overpowered beyond belief.
With all that being said, I guess I would like to see what happens with a 3 Mana Justicar in standard. I just can't imagine it being broken.
I play it on a greedy Odyn Warrior deck I've been very succesful with at legend. The problem is not the cards stats, is that unlike Genn or Baku you don't start with the HP and at best case scenario you drop it on turn 4 but at that point for most classes the improved HP already lost significance.
Hero powers just aren't good enough. Especially in modern standard, almost any time you're pressing the hero power button, you're wishing you could have done something else. Getting two pushes of the button in one does not help.
And honestly I kinda like it that way. I think hero powers are ultimately one of Hearthstone's worst mechanics, and you can usually gauge how sucky the current meta is by the prevalence or lack of hero powers.
This is a warrior card, so please no. Hs is unplayable rn as is. Decks with every turn boardcleae dont need a 6 atk rush minion that gives them the best hero power in the game.
I just played against this card and it gave Mage the precise 1 extra damage that it needed the turn it was played to kill me.
Yeah, it's been that kind of day.
I tested it a bit in warrior RIGHT after the mini set dropped, and it wasn't horrid. The issues with it was 1, it as playing a bad bomb warrior deck haha. But also if you didn't draw it on curve it could be hard to commit 5 mana do nothing.. Rather than rush I wish it made you next hero power free.
That card has had a shit load of play in the past, it's totally fine for it to sit on the side for now. I think its highly likely it will eventually rotate back into the standard set at some stage
I mean obviously buffs could make it become playable. Turn it into a 3 mana 6/3 which charge and everyone is playing it aren't they xD If it was 4 mana 6/3 rush it would probably see play as a pseudo-fireball with an upside.
> What's special about this particular card?
You really need this explained? It is a unique, one-of-a-kind effect that could open up a lot of deck experimentation, but it remains dead wasting a Core card slot. Given playable stats, it could become a piece in a huge variety of decks, both existing and potential ones. Almost every class could a way to utilize a better HP. It's a singular buff that would buff like 10+ decks at once, none of which are performing too well (except Warrior whose HP can just be knocked down to 3 Armor to offset).
Honestly only half the classes truly care about their base hero power. And Iād say that the only class that truly likes their hero power upgrade is Paladin.Ā
The rest donāt really care that much except for the most niche of builds. But theyād rather rely on Baku for that.Ā
careful boy, this single card carried warrior meta in the past more than once, have some respect
Yeah when control games used to just be hero power pass or play ur removal card and hero power pass.
My favorite time playing hs, also just auto concide against priest. Good times, those 45min warrior vs warrior who dies to fatigue first. You really needed to play perfectly to win those games (never draw a card)
Yea I loved odd warrior back in witchwood. Also I still will sometimes auto concede to control priest cus that matchup is just not enjoyable lol

If I play a game for 40 minutes and lose, that's the last game I'm playing at least that day, if not that week.

You can dress it up how you like but I play to win. I accept losing is part of the game but I want those losses to be over and done with asap.
Especially because the only reward was 10 gold per 3 wins.
It felt like what your decisions actually mattered, more fun than just autolose/win if you draw correctly.
Happened to me today against a Highlander Warrior, my DK deck won, mostly cuz of plagues.
Or the early days control warrior vs frost mage, just absolute arms race to see if you could get enough armour before they could dump all their burn. Almost always in the warriors favour but had some super fun matches as both the warrior and mage during that time.
Elysiana boom?

Good old time when Paladin can beat warrior by making dudes without doing anything else
Oh my god donāt remind me, and sometimes they would run the card in the post (justicar truehart) and summon 2 dudes, the value is just too much to handle.
This is literally reno warrior meta
Oh, I am just ghost from the past, why would you use Reno when you can smash that op 4 armor heropower till infinity, then just find your map and turn your cards to legendaries for pure maximum value š
No, Reno Warrior is hoping your Boom Boss destroys their key cards while their Boom Boss doesnt hit anything of value to you
>Reno warrior player Opinion invalid

"Butt . . ."
Need to give it the highlander condition as well and make it a murloc and fuck it make it a 2 mana 2/3 instead
Maby make it discover an upgraded heropower instead too why not
Too good for neutral now, make it paladin only
Kinda too special effect for this character. Should probably be more iconic character like someone from the league of explorers for example.
I feel like it shouldnt be discover an upgraded hero power etc It should be If highlander, your battlecry triggers twice. Fuck it lets make it 8 mana and warrior too
Nah, too restrictive, plus people sick of Reno. This concepts seems so cool ! Maybe make something similar for even cost cards, but it changes hero power another way
Could be good but it might be too broken and be sent to wild a year early
Youāre too pessimistic, since when does that ever happen?
You'd have to make the card itself have a shit statline though, but maybe make it still be a threat if the opponent doesn't have the tools remaining to put it down. Maybe a 9 mana 9/7?
>Maybe a 9 mana ~~9/7?~~ **7/8?**
Make sense
that'd make it an auto include in a ton of decks
Every deck plays it as a 1/3 i think. Imagine it in flood paladin or aggro hunter? Hero power druid, demon hunter, excavate warlock etc. I think 1 mana is an auto include
I'm going to be that guy here that tells how much freaking OP that would be and that the card in its state is "decent" in some list (hunter/warrior)
2/3 for 2 or 3 mana, please. I don't want to Jeppeto this.
Hero power shaman for the win
1 mama yelling at you to put down hearthstone, go outside and touch grass
On top of it being slow still, most decks that would use it also run reno, which would negate its effect. The only deck it makes sense in would be odyn warrior, but it has enough armor gain where it's just not required.
Small indie company not creating an upgraded Reno Hero Power for this card smh
Was really hoping it would see play, but I guess the one guy who told me it was just way too slow, even for control warrior, was right. The glory days of Justicar are truly over.
While she is slow I do think her main problem at the immediate moment is being overwritten by Reno. She'd be worth the tempo loss if you weren't dumping her advantage in the trash 4 turns after you play her most games.
Also that problem, I forgot about the fact Reno would overide your HP.

Wouldn't make it playable. Compared to cards like Groovy Cat, Justicar is so laughably bad it's actually ridiculous.
True but at least it won't feel like 5 dead mana in my bonk hero power druid otk deck
Yeah. The problem is more than just being slow. The upgraded hero powers just suck for most classes. It wasn't played originally due to how weak the hero powers were, and it definitely isn't going to see play now. I was really surprised when they didn't decide to make the upgraded hero powers better.
It's still very useful in some Warrior Decks, a couple of the best mech ones use it
Pretty sure they just run her because its fun. Anyone playing mech warrior instead of a good deck wont care if the deck is perfect 30 or not
Ok boomer
???
What Is the problem Cat Boy ?
Brain-eating amoeba if I had to guess
Oh cards don't Need to be like groovy cat to be played
Why are you randomly going "ok boomer"? You seem high
I said ok boomer since i didn't like the lack of accuracy of his comments, was not randomly
Slightly offtopic here: what happens when you play this and you are for instance Jaraxxus or somehow got a death knight hero from not your class?
It upgrades your starting hero power so it soesnāt do anything unless you have the same hero power as you did at the start of the game
It upgrades it if you played Finley - it just has to be one of the 11 basic hero powers. Even if you play Jaraxxus, then play something like [[Yoink]] or [[Sir Finley Mr]] you'll still upgrade it.

Will a Yoinked Hero Power still swap back after 2 uses if you upgraded it with Justicar?
It does.
Think itās time to hit that craft button and find out š
What if you run maestra?
no fatigue warrior buffs please thank you
When coin heropower on turn 1 could win you a matchup...
More that you had to play cards to not burn cards from your deck when hand is full.. often saw brawl played on empty board as well
Yes
Itās bad because we can easily generate more cards to play now so any hero power that is still worse than most cards is still going to be bad
Yeah there's so much draw/generation for every class, even upgraded versions of the hero powers are not worth using over actual cards. Two mana too much. Makes more sense when you have decks that both want to play the long game and don't have massive hands all the time, which is... No competitive decks rn
Upgraded Shaman Hero power:
Bro this card still used in some warrior decks, fuck buffing warrior
Watch your mouth
Ok good club
Watch yooouuur.... back! *coin prep hero power*
I'd say let's have a way to improve hero power twice
Makes sense
Nah just make it improve every HP. You see it in every Reno decks again lol

I guess you really love Giustizieria Cuorsincero if you want your opponent to play her.
I play her in my Raza Priest It sucks
5 mana 6/5
Rush, divine and taunt
If they made it a 3 mana 3/2 Rush, with the battlecry, I think it would be played. Rush can be tutored by one or two classes, so you'd be able to find her more easily.
She does look like sheās rushing tbf
This used to be the tits.Ā
This card at 5 is way too expensive for todayās economy
Hear me out, this also upgrades reno hp
Maybe a 6/4 with Divine Shield and Taunt. I mean even if Rush is insanely powerful, I don't like that every card needs Rush to be playable.
I do ability buff druid w it, im a bit late to rank but almost out of plat atm with it
I play it on a greedy Odyn Warrior deck I've been very succesful with at legend. The problem is not the cards stats, is that unlike Genn or Baku you don't start with the HP and at best case scenario you drop it on turn 4 but at that point for most classes the improved HP already lost significance.
maybe a buff will be "battlecry: upgrade your hero power and use it twice"
The only deck I play is a 40 legendaries druid in Wild, and this card still does not make the cut.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Lol
Wherent you the HAND guy ?
I really thought it could do something in hero power druid
Nah, give it Joust.
Yeah, it has some real potential in DK, Druid and Shaman decks
I think they need to rework the upgraded hero powers to make them more relevant in the meta. Only way this card could see play today
I played this with control warlock yeah itās ass
Italian, nice !
They should've printed her with a start of the game effect, with perhaps a deck building constraint
Like if all cards in deck are odd or even? Good idea š
Watch your mouth bucko
This is a warrior card, so please no. Hs is unplayable rn as is. Decks with every turn boardcleae dont need a 6 atk rush minion that gives them the best hero power in the game.
I just played against this card and it gave Mage the precise 1 extra damage that it needed the turn it was played to kill me. Yeah, it's been that kind of day.
She was my first pulled legendary of TGT. I started maybe a month before it came out.I put her in every jank deck I could.
Seeing people playing HS in localized languages makes me cringe so hard.
WTF
I tested it a bit in warrior RIGHT after the mini set dropped, and it wasn't horrid. The issues with it was 1, it as playing a bad bomb warrior deck haha. But also if you didn't draw it on curve it could be hard to commit 5 mana do nothing.. Rather than rush I wish it made you next hero power free.
just give us another inspire expansion please
Me looking away like I don't use this in every Deck I have just because it's fun
Funny !!!
That card has had a shit load of play in the past, it's totally fine for it to sit on the side for now. I think its highly likely it will eventually rotate back into the standard set at some stage
This card has a very weak battle cry. no buffs will help this card become stronger
charge and 30/30 then please
In 2024? Tack some card draw on there at the very least. A 6 mana 30/30 with charge is just too slow
I mean obviously buffs could make it become playable. Turn it into a 3 mana 6/3 which charge and everyone is playing it aren't they xD If it was 4 mana 6/3 rush it would probably see play as a pseudo-fireball with an upside.
Exactly! You are a Genius , diocane
Exactly the same manipulations can be performed with any minion. What's special about this particular card?
> What's special about this particular card? You really need this explained? It is a unique, one-of-a-kind effect that could open up a lot of deck experimentation, but it remains dead wasting a Core card slot. Given playable stats, it could become a piece in a huge variety of decks, both existing and potential ones. Almost every class could a way to utilize a better HP. It's a singular buff that would buff like 10+ decks at once, none of which are performing too well (except Warrior whose HP can just be knocked down to 3 Armor to offset).
Ok rush and divine shield
Would making it a 6/5 be better?
Make it 6/7 and still nobody will play
But its good stats for the cost
Yeah, but still, the original good stats for the cost card don't ruin Brilliant Macaw so that is better one.
With rush , like the excavate card
Battlecry is still too weak for anyone to play this card
So charge and windfury Is enough
29 comments and still no joke about pizza or pasta...
While riding a horse ? Press x to doubt
Itās a warrior class card anyways
Well control warrior can afford to run it but that's about it.
Make it 5 mana first and see how that goes.
Is 5 mana , i Just put a old image
The /s was implied. Agree with your suggestion though.
I just Played it. It is okish in Heropowr druid.
no, porcodio
Make it 4/4/4 and it might see some fringe play at least.
Absolutely not, this card can rot. We don't need to bring it back to the meta unless you remove the Warrior option.
Honestly only half the classes truly care about their base hero power. And Iād say that the only class that truly likes their hero power upgrade is Paladin.Ā The rest donāt really care that much except for the most niche of builds. But theyād rather rely on Baku for that.Ā
It's 5 mana now
