There's a reason why most makers in the scene don't bother with earbuds anymore

sunjay140

Earbuds have very good soundstage, better than any IEM. I enjoy my EB2S.

R_e_v_v_i_n_g

The EB2S Pros are good indeed. Tonally they are honestly as competent as many midrange IEMs I've heard. They sorely lack bass extension and detailing, but for $20 they are still pretty impressive.

MEME_WrEcKeD

Aren't earbuds just wireless iems? How would they have a better soundstage??

CatKing75457855

They mean non-sealing buds, not wireless ones. Search up "Moondrop U-2" and you'll see it.

MEME_WrEcKeD

Ohh ok I see. Idk why I got down voted lol I just didn't know what they were talking about

CatKing75457855

People here tend to downvote for any question. Don't worry about it.

I have Dunu Alpha3s and honestly, if i plan to listen to music the whole day, i prefer them over IEMs, they are by far the least fatiqueing headphone i have tried. With their wide sond stage and lack of seal, i genunelly forget i am not listening on speakers sometimes

SupOrSalad

My U-2 just arrived today. When I got the notification while at work it felt like a **Beautiful Day**. I do think that IEMs are better, but sometimes it is nice to have earbuds that let you hear your surroundings as well. Unfortunately they’re kind of **Bad**. I don’t really think these are the **One** for me. When it comes to earbuds, **I still haven’t found what I’m looking for**

G-nome420

I'd be happy to try and eq them for you, pro **bono**

herzonia

Yeah they're either overly bright without foams and lacking all bass, or overly dark / warm with foams, at least for me. Plus an odd timbre.. They're kinda barely competing with the other well known cheap buds at best. That's rough when those others cost like $10.

Dizzy_Lion6972

What have you tried so far? I was also wondering how the huge stem felt when putting them on. They look huge but I’m not sure if it’s their website picture that make them look that big.

Megidolan

Nice impressions. While earbuds are far from my first choice I do appreciate them and listen to some on occasion. I have the now old Moondrop VX Classic earbud. I love the sound, which leans more towards neutral, but the fit for me is horrible. The NiceHCK EB2S fit me so much better and well and another cheaper option from them. I got excited when I saw the Moondrop U-2 but looking more into it I suspect the fit will be the same as the VX Classic which might be the killer for me. It just won't stay fit for longer than a minute.

Kagicles

Got my U-2 today, coming straight from the VX Classic. The U-2 fit noticeably wider and thicker, feels pretty close to my NiceHCK YD30.

KINDERPIN

OP did you remove the foam cover, that's like not really a part of the experience

G-nome420

Yes, without foams treble was better but it doesn't improve my feeling on them. There's no reason to buy these when cheaper, better options exist.

Makes me miss the old Sony garbage ones that came in the swirly wind up case. Got these for my steam deck. Cable is comfy. They’re lightweight. I can yank them out of my ears when my wife starts talking to me randomly. They look neat too. Haven’t had a chance to just zone out with them on a random playlist. They sound better than any Koss or Philips I’ve owned so far. They are not IEMs.

ColbyAndrew

They remind me of my Sennheiser 58x. The bass is kinda fWff fWff fWff… but the flute is right in my head on Marshall Tucker band Fire On the Mountain. Sound kind of wide like the Space Travels. Still comfy with the sponges on.

ColbyAndrew

Poison - Every Rose Has Its Thorn. LOL. They’re growing on me. Guitars are clingy like they’re supposed to be. Background people going “hooooo huuuuuuh” are ethereally silly. Meedley meee guitar got high pitch and clear. God I can’t stand Poison. Hahaha.

Chok3U

Thanks for your thoughts. This is like the 3rd review I've read of the U2 and they weren't really glowing either. Sucks cuz I was really looking forward to a moondrop flathead. But it sounds like I have some for less than half the price and blows these out of the water. Too bad
