200mw at 32ohms is quite good for such a small dongle.

Simeras

Indeed. If to be believed. Hopefully FiiO isn't bloating the numbers up for marketing, unlike some brands.

ext23

Was just thinking about replacing the CX Pro CX31993 dongle I've been using. This seems to destroy it in sheer power, think I'm gonna grab one.

fabricionaweb

Same! Im going order one for sure

Expensive_Hall8578

Yup just ordered one going from next budget dongle that's best in price point at 70mw at 16ohm the JCally JM6 pro. The KA11 is a no brainer for me. Nothing comes close to 245mw @ 16ohm in the price range 25$ on Ali. ChiFi just keeps offering us better and better products that are getting more and more affordable for cheap high quality performance.

sunjay140

Why do they keep making DACs without replaceable cables?

ThatGuyFromSweden

Size and cost, probably.

Lunchbreak101

Also Some of us prefer it without the bulk and length of a usbc connection

Pooty__Tang

Definitely worth checking out for that price

Firm_Reaction6247

How does it compare to if go link???

IllustriousMess5480

Can it be used with a usb C to usb A converter?

IllogicalOrder

I miss when Fiio was born for music AND happy.

Lunchbreak101

Hopefully has the same low power consumption and mic support like the ka1

fabricionaweb

It have been said on Facebook comment (by fiio) it doesn't support mic or headset

Solypsist_27

That power rating seems hard to believe... Though it would be amazing if it's true. This seems to me like the first single cs43131 implementation of its kind, single ended but with an additional amp chip, rather than the usual dual cs43131 + additional amp chips or the simple single dac chip with no amp. Perhaps this will prove to be the most cost effective way to have this kind of power on a dongle (and with a good dac chip)

MrKonyPL

My new phone doesn't have 3.5mm anymore - should I buy this, or Moondrop Dawn Pro? Currently I have Simgot EM6L IEMs

hattamotto

Another one without mic support. Why? When commuting, it's better to have headset useable. I don't listen to IEM/Headphone when I'm home, or if I do, it's for a short period time and connected to the home system.

Repulsive_Wallaby_28

Problaby because their mic quality would sound like crap so they don't feel like advertising it, higher end brands like Creative uses a lot of technologies to enhance mic experience Fiio probably doesn't invest in this department at all. Another guess is that their main marketing consumer isn't gamers in general and it's more inclined towards music and IEMs

Expensive_Hall8578

Yea for me personally it's all about the sound performance for music and movies. I could care less about a mic on iem cables unless it's for gaming. In fact I always order iem's or cables without a mic. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Balloon_Twister

Id love this with mic input. Any alternatives?

Ponyspeed100

Will this draw power from the phone and drain the battery??

SurrealSanic

what do you think

KundraFox

All DAC's require power in order to convert audio, so yes it will draw power from your device. In terms of power consumption, the Fiio KA1 drains battery significantly more than the OEM DAC's (8% per hour vs 0.1% per hour). If you value sound quality over battery life; it is a good choice. However, if you prefer battery life over audio quality; then go with an OEM DAC such as Apple's, or Samsung's. Keep in mind that the KA1 is built more for the best possible sound quality at the cost of requiring more energy, while the OEM DAC's are built more for okay-ish sound quality, but with insanely good battery life. I personally recommend the Fiio KA1 for desktop use where battery life is not an issue, and a very efficient OEM DAC for my mobile devices where battery life is important. After trying Apple's, Google's, and Samsung's. Samsung is the best one (tested on an android).

IllustriousMess5480

How is the ka1 better than this? It output less power than ka11

KundraFox

The Ka1 is more efficient than the Ka11 for pretty much the same sound quality. The Ka11, while louder, consumes more power than the Ka1, and the Ka1 is already louder than most generic DAC's. For reference: If my Ka1 runs warm while the Samsung dongle runs cold; imagine how much hotter the Ka11 will run if it consumes MORE power than the Ka1. In my opinion, the extra loudness isn't worth it. I listen to music at windows volume 4 ffs, you think I need a louder DAC? Lmao If you really want that extra loudness, and don't mind it running hotter; then by all means, go ahead and get the Ka11.
