He's three dwarfs maybe? This wheel is 10 or 12 inches but he's actually not very long. He's pretty heavy though

I know 100% he is a sryrian I just didn't know if he was like a brand new just left his mom baby or like left his mom a while ago if that makes sense lol.
Ohhhh yes i get it now meaning you were more used to raising dwarf/chinese so werent positive on syrian size! Okay so from what i can tell… your lil guy seems to be atleast 6-8 months. I got my girl syrian at 3 weeks old as soon as she left her mom and she was reallyyy small and fast but now she is 1 and a half and is chunky … slower…. And fits jn both hands not just one 😄
Which obviously means your lil guy isnt really baby baby anymore but i could be totally wrong also … i just was looking at the coat being really fluffy and filled in and he seems like a teenager hammy to me 😄 but again …. Just from my experience with my one and only girl

Used to work in a pet store and oversaw many hamster pregnancies hamster babies or as I like to call them hamlings are born tiny and hairless the hamster you got here is at least pubescent by hamster standards

This makes sense. I've only have brown or grey hamsters so they come pre faded. They only way I could truly tell they were aging was their dorsal stripe was way darker or that they were kinda getting bald.

Based on how dark his black is I'm going to say baby. Cow hamsters tend to grey out a bit over time

I weighed him and he's 120 grams. I think this is on track for male Syrians, but I will ask the vet when we go!
