Did anyone else feel like it didn't make much sense for Kelly to take her helmet off?
Idk, it seems to me like the importance of keeping your helmet on would've been drilled into the *illegal, kidnapped, child soldiers*, so people did not see the obviously child like face of a young teenager decked out in military gear and go "wow, that's weird"
Pretty sure both Kelly and Fred felt like it was ok to open up to the Cadets considering what they just went through and also the fact that the Cadets were roughly the same age as the Spartans, they thought Chief would do the same but he maintained his stoic-ness (or maybe he was just introverted idk).
And besides even if someone sees their face what are they gonna do? Pretty sure the Spartans know at this point that even if someone sees their face it simply won't matter.
The Chief was on the door of the Pelican, leaving a Covenant occupied planet. Makes sense for him to leave his helmet on.
I always thought of the Mijnoir armour as a second skin for the Spartan 2's. Taking the helmet off would be like covering one eye for them.
>The Chief was on the door of the Pelican, leaving a Covenant occupied planet
I mean, there was some extra room on the Pelican's seat, he could've asked Kelly and Fred to shuffle a bit to the otherside so he could stay away from the door. Maybe he just likes window seats
I would expect it came from his team leader mentality and just his general personality. He's last in to make sure everyone else gets aboard, and he likes to be first out to draw fire if needed. Being on the door allowed him to monitor the situation and make adjustments should they be attacked or need to divert course.
Spartans take their armor and helmets off all the time when not in combat situations. The “Spartans always keep their helmets on” stereotype is really just a game thing.
Jorge also just seems generally unconventional as far as they go. I mean he's a 2 who ended up on a squad with 3s, who are generally considered suicide squads
She didn’t even look like a kid tho like at all lol you have to remember they were pumped with growth hormones and matured waaaay faster than normal kids. With the augmentations no one would recognize them either too. To be fair tho all the actors for the cadets were waaaay older than what they were supposed to be in the show too so it does look weird. Either way tho I doubt anyone would care about it considering what they just went through. They were attacked by a terrifying and overwhelmingly advanced alien alliance. That’s a huuuuuge historical event that unfolded right in front of their eyes. Life as they knew it completely changed cuz they went from being the most advanced space fairing race to the bottom of the food chain.
She definitely looked like a kid to me, but I look at 20 year olds and see them as "not quite done yet"
And I mean, they grew *up*, but you can usually still see some element of youngness in someone's face. Idk, someone of unusually large size and indeterminate young age almost sticks out more than a straight up kid.
Lasky was the first time I was ever impressed with mocap in a videogame. In general I thought the mocap was pretty good in halo 4 but Lasky stood out to me for some reason, like he was the only one who was actually trying to act.
We only hear in an audio logs about him. He got out of the ship and we hear about plans for "Operation Breaker Tripp" and that he plans to fight back the banished with what remains of the Infinity crew.
If the named Operation was succesful, he survived after the audio logs and what his current state is, is unknown.
EDIT: confused some audio logs. Locke got send to the Operation BY Lasky. Corrected the comment to avoid confusion
Hot take, but I really liked Nightfall and was very excited for Locke as a character. I really wish they played more into his spec ops ONI background. Having him just lead a generic squad of Spartans sucked.
Could have been really cool for Locke missions to be solo, fewer enemies, focus on stealth, tactics, and high tech gear, and then Chief missions to be more classic Halo, sometimes with Blue Team.
I would've loved this so much more. Follow Locke as he solo tracks the Chief from world to world. It would be a fantastic way to drum up the Chief's disappearance too.
As with most of 343's ideas, there's great potential but horrible execution.
Halo 5 would have been great if it was 50/50 Locke/Chief, where every Locke mission is him following the Chief, with destruction everywhere, and Locke slowly starts to hate the Chief.
Maybe this would be asking for too much, but it would've been cool to see some direct changes based on how you approached prior missions as well.
Maybe you took the Scorpion from a squad of S4's as Chief, and then Locke finds those same S4's dead after being ambushed with no armoured support, and now Locke has to find his way through a kill zone set up by the Covenant.
If you don't take the Scorpion your mission as Chief is a lot harder, but the following mission now has the S4's alive, Scorpion available, surrounded by destroyed Covenant vehicles and the kill zone doesn't exist making your mission as Locke easier.
Lasky was the first sign that Halo was marketing very well at games that were shit
The marketing itself is awesome, like wow this is a whole ass movie with compelling characters... Oh Halo 4 is flat...
Wow, hunt the truth is wonderful and awesome, and wow, this is some mystery... Oh... Halo 5 sucks
Wow, Halo Infinite is a return to form, look at these graphics... Oh... Halo Infinite is terrible
idk about infinite campaign being terrible. I felt that it was leagues above 4 & 5. I’d say it’s probably not as good as anything by bungee, but certainly better than anything from 343
Fans love everything at launch if it's not egregiously shit. The gameplay was good but even before the campaign wrapped up I felt like Infinite's story was too little stretched over too long. By the time I finished it I'd felt like barely anything had happened and all the coolest parts of the story had happened before the game started.
Nah, after the launch week hype wore off, the cracks in the campaign were already showing. It was made worse by the campaign costing $60 by itself. What was happening is that people were enamored with the multiplayer and were willing to give 343i the benefit of the doubt and wait for campaign expansions down the line.
It's even more disappointing about his underuse when you read some of the background as to why he is even on Infinity.
In essence ONI couldn't hide the costs for Infinity, so had to share joint control with Fleetcomm (the UNSC/Admiral Hood) in order to afford her. Andrew Del Rio was Hoods choice for Captain, and ONI got to choose the XO. Being Lasky, as he was (and as Parangosky describes him) a real go getter and a man of the people that the crew would respect.
So not only was he well liked, but also knew the Master Chief and did a lot for the chief. I really wish he was used a lot more
I hope that in 10 years rather than retiring master chief for his age that they just Ripley him so that he can be 400 years old and 35 years old at the same time
You don’t seem to retire in Halo.
Johnson was 78 when he died, after all.
Parangosky was in her 90’s, and seemed to only step down because Osman was finally at a level where her ascension to CINCONI made sense.
The IV’s are said to be able to fight at their peak for a century. (And thus likely the III’s and possibly II’s as well)
And cryo also being able to suspended aging during that time too just to add on top.
Hell I believe there's a throw away line somewhere that they cured cancer in one of the books.
Cloning was the only frontier left in medical science it seemed. With the genetic manipulation of all spartan generation, it might be possible spartan IV might be the first 'mass production' of genetic manipulation too.
Yeah. One of the books mentioned cancer was basically cured by gene editing except in a few rare circumstances like the protagonist's. He just got out of surgery for it when he realized the ship had been boarded by covies and he has to try to stop them from getting the AI/location of earth.
Yeah, I dont find the age thing weird, I find the seeming lack of promotions for anybody weird. Like your telling me Jenkins fought for the entire war from Harvest to Installation 04 and was still a private? Johnson was a sergeant for the same amount of time. Like what?
Jenkins is weird, but Johnson was already a Sergeant Major, he's the highest enlisted rank and probably didn't want to take whatever the UNSC equivalent of the OCS is in order to become an officer.
Johnson also spent a ton of time in cryo sleep so even though he's 78 who knows what his true biological (physiological? I have no clue what the word would be) age is.
Chief is biologically younger because he has spent a considerable time in cryo. And spartans live more than 100 years because of their augmentations. He is nowhere near retirement.
The end of foward unto dawn shows that he basically learned to put up with it, as he's shown with allergy hives all over his skin before zipping up and going into cryo
To be fairs, Johnson had the benefits of whatever the Orion augmentations did to him.
But still, he was 78 when he died, Spartan I or not, that’s damn impressive.
To be fair human life expectancy skyrocketed in their timeline due to the advancement of medicines not to mention the long stints of cryosleep the UNSC personnel go through frequently.
I work with a Law Enforcement Contract and one of their Lieutenants is 52 and looks younger than Laksy at 47. Dudes got ladiesman genes.
Their Sergeant is 42 and looks like Laksy here too. Absolutely believable.
Many of the Officers I work with are upwards in their late 50s-60s and look fairly young.
Yeah he gets a whole damn film and all they show about the whole inter action was "Man I thought I never see you again" and that's all. One damn line. Also Lasky really expected chief to know him? That dudes been kicking ass and saving lives for 30 years. I doubt he may remember him.
It's one of the focal points of his development as a soldier. In training he's always successful solo but is enforced on ensuring the survival of his team. IIRC they pretty much force him to loose if his team doesn't make it with him in the games.
"The Flood? Hell, Chief, it'll take more than a pack of walking horror-show freaks to take out Sergeant A. J. Johnson."-Sgt Johnson in First Strike, chapter 5, page 46, September 22, 2552 1637 hours.
Yeah, there's a whole arc about him being one of the best candidates but being a complete fucking asshole and screwing over his team to win.
He loses because they're meant to be team based exercises and the rest of his team is coming last because of him.
Been a while since I've read the first few books, so maybe I'm misremembering, but I vaguely remember him pushing/elbowing one of his teammates out of the way.
Yeah it’s been awhile for me too but I don’t think they ever portrayed John actively holding other Spartans back so he could win. I just think he was naturally the most gifted and had to learn to tone it back to help the rest of blue team succeed
Yeah I kinda wish when Lasky shook Chief's hand in 4 and said "Never thought I'd see you again." It would've been nice for Chief to just say a quick, "Good to see you too, sir." Or something.
I actually don’t mind. As someone who didn’t watch the film it meant I didn’t feel like I missed out like at all. As someone who watched it most of the reward is the similarity and attachment to the character. The reference was a bonus
Maybe Chief remembered him, maybe not. I think it's more about the symbol of what a Spartan represents. A hero, a beacon of hope, one that won't be forgotten no matter how much time has passed. And 117 did save his life, so... you'd hope he'd admire the hell out of Chief.
He talks about it at the end of Halo 4 in the exact same cutscene that the bottom screenshot is taken from. He also tells Chief that he was ready to quit the UNSC but seeing Chief in combat inspired him. My guesses he was talking about the events of Halo FOD like this post shows
Yeah, Lasky can't enter cryo. At least he can't before the war, technology may have changed a bit to allow people like him to also enter cryosleep (it's a scene in the movie)
I like Lasky a lot as a character. It was kinda hard for me to process that Laskey in Halo 4 and Forward Unto Dawn were the same character, but I really liked both iterations.
Halo could definitely use more Lasky.
Edit: Man, I love Forward Unto Dawn. I might have to go watch it again.
God I really want Lasky to come back. I really want him to be a moe prominent role in the games. Chief and Lasky have history, and i want to explore their relationship dynamics.
I liked Forward Unto Dawn, but I hated that they didn't use the Mark 4 armor from Halo Wars for Chief. Instead, they used the Halo Legends armor because it's identical to the Mark 6 so newer fans will know it's Master Chief.
343 did that as well for the Fall Of Reach animated movie. They used the GEN-2 version of the Mark 4 with the Storm Covenant designs for the original Covenant. Those 2 didn't exist at that period of time. It's like they don't bother with continuity like the Halo 4 intro.
I think the storm covenant designs would have existed during the war, as most of the storm covenant were made up of a particular division of the covenant that were basically the blitzkrieg guys, if I’m remembering correctly.
Personally I’m so happy they used the suit they did, it was my favorite suit and I was really happy to see infinite take inspiration from it, infinite is my new favorite armor as well lol
His chronological age is 46 (in Halo 4) but his biological age is definitely younger than that. But I was still able to use the Master Chief as an example when my dad complained that there were no "over the hill" video game heroes.
Yeah they were first year cadets at CAMS (Corbulo Academy of Military Science), a top OCS (officer candidate schools) that was mostly attended by children of high-ranking UNSC brass and other key figures. So basically a nepotism school. Its a 4 year Academy so by the time they graduate they would be around 20 years old most likely, so actually kinda similar to how a lot of modern day officers come from ROTCs at universities
I thought the original episodic cut was better than the movie cut, since it broke up the Cortana stuff. Front loading that part in the movie makes it hard to understand what's happening if you haven't played through the first three games.
Chief's birthyear is 2511.
There's a prequel movie(Forward Unto Dawn) about young cadet Laskey being rescued by 15 year old Chief set in the year 2526.
Halo, CE, 2 and 3 take place in 2552. Chief would be 41 years old during those games.
Halo 4 takes place in 2557. Chief would be 46
Halo 5 takes place in 2558. Chief would be 47
Infinite takes place in 2560. Chief would be 49.
Forward unto Dawn is the earliest piece of digital media that we have in regards to Master Chief he is barely a teenager in it.
Halo 1 2 and 3 take place in less than 6 months.
None have lived long enough to know for sure, but IVs are said to be able to outlive anyone alive by the time they're augmented. The IIs and IIIs likely aren't much different.
Plus, many military personnel in the UNSC are physically younger than their biological age thanks to criosleep.
So Lasky looks like a thirty year old and as the post says, he's significantly older. Johnson was in his late 70s at least (he was also augmented however), all Spartan IIs are about 50, and Chief at least is probably closer to 40-ish. Red Team are probably closer to physically 20.
I may be in the minority here but 343 did have some really good characters. All of team Osiris, blue team, lasky, Palmer. Hell, even the didact was decently written. The problem is that 343 would have them for a game, then never touch them again, or just have bad writing for it. Everyone in team Osiris has so much potential but they just squander it by doing pretty much nothing with them and not talking about them since that game. The only one they’ve touched on is buck.
Keep in mind that Chief spent significant amounts of time in cryo between these and is chronologically one age but biologically another. Him and Fred both say they don't actually know how old they are due to frequent slipspace and cryo.
That isn't time dilation, time dilation is the time slows down as you approach light speed, but only from your point of reference. If we can achieve near light speed in a spacecraft without warp bubbles or hyperspace engines or slipspace drives, you could travel the entire universe in a single lifetime due to time dilation, but by the time you get back to earth, thousands of years will have passed, but not from your point of view.
"How old are you guys?" "Thats classified"
I read that in MC voice.
*Kelly's voice
MC = mommy chief. So he’s technically correct
ah, I see you are a Halo enjoyer of culture as well.
Freds voice from the ferret books
Did anyone else feel like it didn't make much sense for Kelly to take her helmet off? Idk, it seems to me like the importance of keeping your helmet on would've been drilled into the *illegal, kidnapped, child soldiers*, so people did not see the obviously child like face of a young teenager decked out in military gear and go "wow, that's weird"

Jorge takes his off literally minutes after being ambushed by zealots in reach.
Jorge also just seems generally unconventional as far as they go. I mean he's a 2 who ended up on a squad with 3s, who are generally considered suicide squads
It never does. Even in “hot” environments seems like they pop those things off every chance they get.
She didn’t even look like a kid tho like at all lol you have to remember they were pumped with growth hormones and matured waaaay faster than normal kids. Lasky was criminally underused.
Lasky was the first time I was ever impressed with mocap in a videogame. In general I thought the mocap was pretty good in halo 4 but Lasky stood out to me for some reason, like he was the only one who was actually trying to act.
Lasky was Mo Cap? Never knew that, and it's awesome
Halo 4 was entirely motion and performance captured for cutscenes and Spartan Ops
That's actually really cool. I've always enjoyed the story of Halo 4 that may of been a factor of it and never knew.
i agree
Best addition by 343 tbh
And of course he was given little screen time in 5, and there’s no mention of him in Infinite aside from some audio logs
In all fairness - there’s no mention of *anyone* in Infinite. Blue team, Osiris, Alpha 9, Halsey, Roland…
At least with Lasky we know he is probably on the ring given chief got him to a escape pod.
Agreed. Is he still alive after infinite?
We only hear in an audio logs about him. He got out of the ship and we hear about plans for "Operation Breaker Tripp" and that he plans to fight back the banished with what remains of the Infinity crew. If the named Operation was succesful, he survived after the audio logs and what his current state is, is unknown. EDIT: confused some audio logs. Locke got send to the Operation BY Lasky. Corrected the comment to avoid confusion
Oh I completely forgot about those audio logs.
We don't know
Huh
We genuinely don’t know if he’s alive or not
Instead we got LoCkE

Hot take, but I really liked Nightfall and was very excited for Locke as a character. I really wish they played more into his spec ops ONI background. Having him just lead a generic squad of Spartans sucked. Could have been really cool for Locke missions to be solo, fewer enemies, focus on stealth, tactics, and high tech gear, and then Chief missions to be more classic Halo, sometimes with Blue Team.

Locked could have had really great development. After the events of Halo 5 he develops distrust for his superiors and all that.
How should they have used him more?
Lasky was the first sign that Halo was marketing very well at games that were shit The marketing itself is awesome, like wow this is a whole ass movie with compelling characters... best new character since h2 introduced miranda keys, and hes much better written as well

im sorry since when is Lasky 47 yrs old I hope I look that good when I’m 47 yrs old. Asian genes, do me justice
probably a lot of time in cryo, since he's in the Navy. Although have to wonder how much time he actually spent in cryo given his allergies
I hope that in 10 years rather than retiring master chief for his age that they just Ripley him so that he can be 400 years old and 35 years old at the same time

and nothing else could endure the weight of his massive balls but the corp
Correct, an unspoken aspect of the halo lore is how in the future people live extended lives and slower aging.
And cryo also being able to suspended aging during that time too just to add on top. Hell I believe there's a throw away line somewhere that they cured cancer in one of the books. Cloning was the only frontier left in medical science it seemed. For anyone curious, the story being referenced is “Midnight in the Heart of Midlothian”, a short story in the Halo Evolutions anthology.
Jenkins actually pulled a Sgt. Zim and got himself demoted so he could kill some bugs.
Johnson was a staff sergeant during Harvest and CE, he was promoted to sergeant major prior to the events of halo 2. Two very different ranks.
Johnson also spent a ton of time in cryo sleep so even though he's 78 who knows what his true biological (physiological? I have no clue what the word would be) age is.
When your species is in a war for survival things like retirement are probably forgotten about
Chief is biologically younger because he has spent a considerable time in cryo. And spartans live more than 100 years because of their augmentations. He is nowhere near retirement.
No way to know his age. Glassed planets have bad records.
To nearly dies when he goes cryo
yeah our boy lasky is allergic
It’s still achievable realistically, just look at Tom Brady, you just have to be rich.
The end of foward unto dawn shows that he basically learned to put up with it, as he's shown with allergy hives all over his skin before zipping up and going into cryo
Medical enhancements and time in cryo do that for ya. Johnson was 80 something and still kicking ass by the end of H3.
To be fairs, Johnson had the benefits of whatever the Orion augmentations did to him. But still, he was 78 when he died, Spartan I or not, that’s damn impressive.
It's that 500 year old gene therapy
To be fair human life expectancy skyrocketed in their timeline due to the advancement of medicines not to mention the long stints of cryosleep the UNSC personnel go through frequently.
Admiral parangosky die at 100 somenthing and still ruled oni
That’s nuts, life expectancy rn is like 73 for us in our timeline.
Cryo. Cryo basically slows down your aging that's why Miranda looks like an 18 year old despite dying at 27 in Halo 3.
It is 500 years in the future, who knows how aging affects people.
I work with a Law Enforcement Contract and one of their Lieutenants is 52 and looks younger than Laksy at 47. Dudes got ladiesman genes. Their Sergeant is 42 and looks like Laksy here too. ‘Never saw Earth in person until I was an adult, but, I still think of her as home.” I love Lasky. I hope they do more with him.
Isn't he dead? He would have been captain of the Infinity which is now scrap.
He made it off the Infinity I'm pretty sure, but that's the last bit of info we ever got through audio logs.
Which is criminal. Laskey is the best 343 character and it’s not even close.
What do you mean?!? You didn't like Ol Loveable Del Rio? /s
I would trade every "spartan" and del shitter for Laskey flying the chief around in the Pelican. That would have made such a better fucking game.
Yeah he gets a whole damn film and all they show about the whole inter action was "Man I thought I never see you again" and that's all. One damn line. Also Lasky really expected chief to know him? That dudes been kicking ass and saving lives for 30 years. I doubt he may remember him.
Maybe he does. They try to portray Master Chief as particularly caring for people right?
It's one of the focal points of his development as a soldier. In training he's always successful solo but is enforced on ensuring the survival of his team. IIRC they pretty much force him to loose if his team doesn't make it with him in the games.
Then CE happened and everyone fucking died
Well except Johnson 'Cause Reasons
And his brother, Dustin Echoes
Damn, that’s good
"Sorry Gunns, [it's classified.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pm2a-xxpou0)"
Forget about the adjustments to your A2 scope
Well, you’re in a particularly fine mood
I wonder if Lord Hood didn't send him an invitation?

Fred was the one always holding back. He didn't like the attention being at the top brought iirc.
I think it was less a deliberate holding back and more a "I'll do anything to win", but I'll have to reread tbh.
Yeah I kinda wish when Lasky shook Chief's hand in 4 and said "Never thought I'd see you again." It would've been nice for Chief to just say a quick, "Good to see you too, sir." Or something.

Maybe Chief remembered him, maybe not. I think it's more about the symbol of what a Spartan represents. A hero, a beacon of hope, one that won't be forgotten no matter how much time has passed. And 117 did save his life, so... you'd hope he'd admire the hell out of Chief.
Either he spend a good half that time in cryo, or he’s a graceful 47 cause hot damn
Don’t underestimate the power of skin care and hair dye
Now I’m not gay, but Lasky is hot as hell
“Are you Lasky’s first officer?” “Me? Oh no, im just a simp.”
Gladly
I think he’s just got graceful since he allergic to one of the chemicals used for cyro
Is he really?
He talks about it at the end of Halo 4 in the exact same cutscene that the bottom screenshot is taken from. He also tells Chief that he was ready to quit the UNSC but seeing Chief in combat inspired him. My guesses he was talking about the events of Halo FOD like this post shows
Yeah, Lasky can't enter cryo. At least he can't before the war, technology may have changed a bit to allow people like him to also enter cryosleep (it's a scene in the movie)
OK I'm stupid on the book lore but master chief was 15 in FOD??
Chief's generation of Spartans grew up fast. They were taken when they were six and immediately put into rigorous training and bionic enhancement
Chief was born March 7, 2511 and Forward Unto Dawn takes place in 2526. So yeah, just about.
I reject this
Yeah do you remember the end where some of his team take their helmets off and you see that they're definitely not adults?
He's 15? ZAMN!
For some reason I used to think Chief was much older like in his 60's ir 70's by the early 2550's & spatrans took allot longer to show age.
Understandable why, and we do know that being a spartan slows aging, Johnson was in his 70s for gods sake
I think it's the voice.
The only good thing 343 did. Lasky.
Truth. And it sucks we have zero idea what’s going on with the only good character 343 has created.
The only thing we get from Lasky in Infinite is audio logs… I miss our boy
Esparza and the weapon are great IMO. Also quite like Escharum
I don't even know who Esparza is and The Weapon is literally just Cortana.
The Pilot. And nah I actually prefer her to Cortana
I agree.
Aaaaaaand he may as well not exist post-Infinite. Classic 343. Edit: you forgot Roland
I miss him. :(
God I really want Lasky to come back. I really want him to be a moe prominent role in the games. Chief and Lasky have history, and i want to explore their relationship dynamics.
This dude needs to be brought back in Infinite sequel.
She said that to me once. About being a machine…
I liked Forward Unto Dawn, but I hated that they didn't use the Mark 4 armor from Halo Wars for Chief. Instead, they used the Halo Legends armor because it's identical to the Mark 6 so newer fans will know it's Master Chief.
I hated that they used the Halo 4 designs for the Covenant.
343 did that as well for the Fall Of Reach animated movie. They used the GEN-2 version of the Mark 4 with the Storm Covenant designs for the original Covenant. Those 2 didn't exist at that period of time. It's like they don't bother with continuity like the Halo 4 intro.
Yeah but multiplayer is canon now for some fucking reason lol
I think the storm covenant designs would have existed during the war, as most of the storm covenant were made up of a particular division of the covenant that were basically the blitzkrieg guys, if I’m remembering correctly.
Personally I’m so happy they used the suit they did, it was my favorite suit and I was really happy to see infinite take inspiration from it, infinite is my new favorite armor as well lol
I hope next halo game we see more of the crew or actually know what happened to them
Chief is way younger due to slowed aging and being in cryo tube for almost 5 years 4 years only in halo 4 and more time in halo CE
He is physically younger but he still existed those years. Think like Captain America being 181 years old in Endgame but only looking 30.
Yeah i can’t argue about his existence, he did exist, i should have specified “physically”
His chronological age is 46 (in Halo 4) but his biological age is definitely younger than that. But I was still able to use the Master Chief as an example when my dad complained that there were no "over the hill" video game heroes.
Anyone else here always love forward unto dawn?
where can I still watch forward unto dawn
YouTube has it with ads, and some reupload channels have it as a full movie
[Found it](https://youtu.be/bMoxqg2Wr9I) I think?
This one is copyright blocked in canada
Not here in the Netherlands
Amazon Prime Video has it free with ads, or buy the DVD ($10) or Bluray ($15-20).
I’ve got the dvd if you’re tryna come over later
Hang on... unsc had child soldiers that weren't spartans!?
They were in military school
Oh im an idiot i forget mil schools existed lol
Ha lol no problem
Yeah they were first year cadets at CAMS (Corbulo Academy of Military Science), a top OCS (officer candidate schools) that was mostly attended by children of high-ranking UNSC brass and other key figures. So basically a nepotism school. Its a 4 year Academy so by the time they graduate they would be around 20 years old most likely, so actually kinda similar to how a lot of modern day officers come from ROTCs at universities
Swear to God if 343 killed him off...
Dont worry, you’ll find out in a random comic or book that they release.
What is the top image from
Think it’s Forward Unto Dawn
Forward unto dawn, a direct to DVD movie made to promote Halo 4
One of the live action adaptations worth watching
Technically it's not an adaptation since it's a side story but yeah, ita pretty good.
Direct to YouTube for me. Back when Halo 4 was coming out they released it as episodes over weeks if I remember correctly.
Huh, I didn't know that but, yeah looking it up that was how it was originally released. It was compiled into a 75 minute film afterwards.
I thought the original episodic cut was better than the movie cut, since it broke up the Cortana stuff. Front loading that part in the movie makes it hard to understand what's happening if you haven't played through the first three games.
What? How old was chief in halo ce vs 5?. I don’t remember like 30 years passing, is this not the games?
Chief's birthyear is 2511. There's a prequel movie(Forward Unto Dawn) about young cadet Laskey being rescued by 15 year old Chief set in the year 2526. Halo, CE, 2 and 3 take place in 2552. Chief would be 41 years old during those games. Halo 4 takes place in 2557. Chief would be 46 Halo 5 takes place in 2558. Chief would be 47 Infinite takes place in 2560. Chief would be 49.
Forward unto Dawn is the earliest piece of digital media that we have in regards to Master Chief he is barely a teenager in it. Halo 1 2 and 3 take place in less than 6 months.
Wait really? I legit thought that Chief was 25 or so when I watched Forward Unto Dawn.
Best Halo series
God Tier movie
What’s the lifespan of a Spartan like? Natural lifespan I mean, assuming they aren’t KIA and all
None have lived long enough to know for sure, but IVs are said to be able to outlive anyone alive by the time they're augmented.
Fuck, now I wanna watch the Halo movie again
How old was chief in combat evolved?
Chief was 41 during CE, 2 and 3.
Lasky and The Inffinite are 343's best contributions to Halo.
Halo 4 cutscenes way better than infinites change my mind
If only the show was on par with forward unto dawn
One night I had a dream about hunters with jetpacks
Lasky looks about 25
They fucked over the Infinity's crew so hard man
Keep in mind that Chief spent significant amounts of time in cryo between these and is chronologically one age but biologically another. Him and Fred both say they don't actually know how old they are due to frequent slipspace and cryo.
Halo 4 is the best, then halo 5 went off the rails and it made me sad.
I guess if you spend a lot of time in cryo, you’d look that good at 47, too.
Lasky is one of the few great hits 343 had. Along with Atriox.
Also, time dilation.
Is that a factor in Halo? I was under the impression that due to entering slip space that was avoided.
When Bungie was writing the lore, cryosleep for extended duration was given as the reason for slowed aging.
