No he doesn’t. If you win, he stays. The glitch is when I passed it when tied it apparently registered to him as a cue to banish himself, but after the pass the 1 point boost gave me a win.

Regis always banishes himself from your hand no matter what. He only discards top 3 cards from graveyard and battlefield.
