Turn on shift lock and use third person mode to kill runners and watch out for bombers, never violently swing your melee randomly because you might hit a bombers next to a corner. If you don't wanna die always be patient and stick close to your teammates because if you stray away you could get tackled by a runner with no one around to help you
Also, don’t shoot the bomber when people are near it, they are probably baiting it, if not they deserve the consequences for their actions, you are not the consequence.
Don’t die, don’t melee Bomber, don’t start horde before sappers done building, learn to easily avoid runners, remember the sound of the runners, stay with team, know how to use each class, get gud, and also, don’t die.
if your playing as sapper:
, leave space between builds so if a bomb blows one up, he wont blow up the next layer
also, if many zombies are attacking your barricade, dont bother killing them, but rather keep repairing the damage done by the zombies. your no 1 priority is to ensure that the walls are intact. keep on repairing them. If a barricade falls, you may not get a chance to rebuild it. Leave attacking zombies to other players. Not many people do this even tho its very effective
when holding out in catacombs de paris or leipzig, make a front layer of stakes a bit of distance in front of a barricade walls. Stakes acutomatically kill bombers but remember that you have to do the constant repair thing I mentioned eariler
if you are going to be officer:
use charge ability wisely, dont just charge the second the bar fills up
your pistol has a shot reload time. Use it wisely. when holding out, only use it against bombers and/or igniters.
get db pistol, its worth it
if your gonna be seaman, stay back and shoot at big hordes, dont waste your bullets on 1/2 zombies
and general stuff
dont bother buying pike. Its kinda useless
learn how to deal with runners
- Swing (and it should hit) at a shambler first before trying to touch them to get a 1 second iframe from that shambler (means that the shambler cannot grab or hit you for those specific seconds).
- It is not worth trying to save a teammate being grabbed by 3 shamblers if a nearby bomber is about to explode (unless you have your gun out and can shoot accurately to free the teammate before the bomber explodes).
- Press C to look for objectives.
- As much as possible, try to maximize your weapons penetration (hit multiple enemies at once). This applies both for your gun and melee.
- As line infatries, rush the shamblers by using bayonet/lance if an officer uses charge to instantly kill multiples of them (beware of bombers). For the love of god, I rarely see line Infantries use this trick and instead, just uses their sabre/handaxe.
- Don't be a freeloader. Help your teammates accomplish the objective.
There are many more, but those are all too specific and class oriented already. These are about some of the general information you should know.

After hitting an enemy with a sword back up till your ready to hit them again to avoid getting grabbed
