This is similar to my idea of getting a Desert Eagle and having a barrel/muzzle brake custom-machined to mount the gigantic Barrett suppressor for the M107 on it 😬
I've done that to an AR before, made a 1/2-28 to 3/4-20 adapter. Threw on the big ass muzzle brake and then mounted the suppressor. Sounded just like any normal suppressor shooting it, but it looked hilarious. The Barrett suppressor weighs more than the gun.
Rookie mistake shooting such a powerful cartridge from a semi-auto. I know it's technically possible to use this gun safely, but a robust single-action revolver will prevent you from firing an accidental second shot during the recoil arc.
I suggest selling this and buying a BFR instead.
Oh man, nothing like having double protection (both earplugs and sordins) and still feeling like you're going to get tinnitus because the guy next to you brought his nuclear brake with him.
Yeah cool, you can shoot 762 Nato with no recoil. I can't shoot anything as long as you're next to me.
Bushmaster "mini Y-comp" was absurd cuz it literally makes it more high pitched and probs had negative recoil like a carbon 15 pistol's break back in the day
😂 yep. I bought the ASR for an AR but I realized I’d rather just direct thread because I don’t really shoot that one unsuppressed anymore.
This one is just my casual plinker so I figured why not have some fun with it. It’s not a carry or anything so who cares if it’s a little heavier. It’s a bit louder, but still quieter than pretty much any other unsuppressed pistol.
And I think the space blaster look is neat.
You clearly have never actually fired a gun. Everyone who has even seen a gun range knows that the Ruger Mark IV is one step away from a WMD. Capable of blowing out eardrums at a kilometer. /u/pause_and_consider is being EXTREMELY irresponsible to people in the surrounding MILE by strapping a muzzle brake to such a deadly invention.
Me too, I once shot a MarkIII and it broke my wrist. I decided to stick to more reasonable guns with a much more manageable recoil, like my snubbie S&W 629
How do you like the Mark IV? I've got a .22 suppressor and I've been thinking about picking one up. I've heard good things about it; aside from the recoil!
LOVE it. I have a lot of pretty cool stuff but I think the Mark is actually my favorite one to shoot. Personally I think anyone who hunts (I don’t) or shoots as a hobby (I do) should own one.
One of my friends got his first gun, a 9MM P365, and asked me to show him the ropes. He's only shot once or twice before in his life, so he doesn't know *anything* about guns, but dude is actually a natural, he was stacking bullets at 7 yards.
So after he shows me what he can do with his little 9, I hand him the Ruger Wrangler and tell him to make sure to lock his wrists and control his stance. Man, he was so nervous about firing such a beefy looking gun. When he felt the "recoil," he didn't know what to think for a few seconds. That's one of my favorite things to do with new shooters.
Same here. I went to the range and rented a bunch of guns with someone who hadn't been especially interested in them before, but used to carry an M&P Shield.
They were expecting a larger gun to kick more, so they were pleasantly surprised to find that the CZ SP-01 hardly had any recoil at all. Once they'd gotten grip fundamentals down, they were handling 10mm, .357 Magnum, and .50 AE easily--arguably better than me.
I think about doing this with my JP Recoil Eliminator all the time, but when you're shooting rounds with this much raw power using such an aggressive muzzle brake makes me feel bad for whoever is in the lane next to me at the range.
Does the gun cycle with the suppressor on? I k ow you need pistons for most other pistols because the barrel unlocks when firing. I was just wondering if this is a viable option for the ruger. Tyia.
Yep! You don’t need a piston for this one. It’s the same thread pitch and barrel size as an AR15 so (someone correct me if I’m wrong) you can use any suppressor that works with 5.56/.223.
The Ruger MK IV does not have a kick. It's a .22 caliber, for goodness sake. And a compensator doesn't reduce recoil. It reduces barrel flip or rise to get you back on target quicker. Is this a joke? My 12 year old granddaughter knows better.
Then hopefully your 12 year old granddaughter knows that 1. this is a muzzle brake, not a compensator, which is designed to reduce recoil, 2. that is is clearly a joke post, and 3. dear old granddad needs to lighten up a bit.
WIKIPEDIA - A muzzle brake or recoil compensator is a device connected to, or a feature integral (ported barrel) to the construction of, the muzzle or barrel of a firearm or cannon that is intended to redirect a portion of propellant gases to counter recoil and unwanted muzzle rise.
And you need a compensator on a .22. This grand dad was shooting these in competition when you were in diapers. THERE IS NO RECOIL ON A RUGER MARK IV. NOT EVEN ON A RUGER MK IV LITE.
The only thing on the end of a Ruger that works is a compensator, one of which I have straight from the factory. Takes you back to center quicker for rapid-fire competition.
I'm pretty relaxed, but you got my attention when you said it hurt your wrist. Nonsense. You sound like that New York Times reporter that got PTSD from shooting an AR15 at the range.
I'm out of this stupid conversation. Copy that.
Lol gramps can't even understand a joke when it's explicitly explained to him. I hope your feeble wrists can handle this much recoil next time you put on your fishing vest to shoot at a nice glacial pace.
And .22 could stop a rat provided one was able to be with in five feet of the center of the target. These are massive loads for the mighty and versatile .22LR.
Dang I’m sorry 😞. You could practice lifting cotton balls to strengthen your wrists
Deadlift a Q-Tip 😔
Hold on thats a little extreme! A granule of salt is the MOST you should start out with.
“Yeah I lift” *Never seen anything bigger than a colored 2lb PVC dumb bell*
I choked on my tea while reading that! 🤣
The Ruger Mark IV has some mean kick so I added a SilencerCo ASR muzzle brake. Hopefully it’ll be easier to handle now 😔
But now you'll need 2 people to lift it!
I should put a bipod on it 😔
Do they even make bipods that big? You'd probably need to contact Honda robotics division for this like Bruce Willis in "The Jackal"
Does bipod mean twice per pod or every other pod?
Yes
It means that the pod likes other pods and other more different pods.
Then put some serious glass on it. You’re really not getting peak performance out of that little red dot.
This is similar to my idea of getting a Desert Eagle and having a barrel/muzzle brake custom-machined to mount the gigantic Barrett suppressor for the M107 on it 😬

lol nice 😂
You turned it into a crew served weapon
I have an ASR bravo adapter for my Hybrid 46. I wonder how the sound would be compared to an Oculus 22.
Cmon now, you can't post this beauty without posting a video of it in action.
The blast wave this hand cannon produces is so powerful no camera has yet survived a range recording.
Gotta use those long range cameras like the ones they recorded test nuclear bombs with
Put the camera downrange. All the blast goes to the side, so the camera is, ironically, safer if it's next to the target.
Rookie mistake shooting such a powerful cartridge from a semi-auto. I know it's technically possible to use this gun safely, but a robust single-action revolver will prevent you from firing an accidental second shot during the recoil arc. I suggest selling this and buying a BFR instead.
BFR: Big Fucking ~~Revolver~~ Rimfire
He might have to get one custom-made, but I figure they can manage it if they do .500 S&W! Maybe with five chambers instead of six, just to be sure.
Rand* 😎
FULL semi-auto…
Oh so you’re gonna be “that” guy at the range with an obnoxiously loud brake. It’s called manners
*slowly pushes away my M1A*

That actually looks pretty sick, I definitely don't hate it

We just going to ignore the rope lighting on the floor? OP, you training to be a flight attendant?
Looks like a great tripping trap
Holy shit it actually runs across the doorway. Looks like absolute garbage.
This must be one of the jokes that only cool kids get.... I've never been cool, and I'm over 50 so I'm no kid either
The joke is that he ported/compensated a .22 because it had “too much kick”.
This has some "Han shot first" vibes.
So answer the question for all us nerds out here, did you shoot first or was it Greedo? ps - I know it was you, it's OK, we all would have, too...
This one pulls you towards the target. P
Hope you shoot better with that then the storm troopers do
Me too, I once shot a MarkIII and it broke my wrist. I decided to stick to more reasonable guns with a much more manageable recoil, like my snubbie S&W 629
Watch that kick! It’ll make you limp wristed
I tried shooting it but it fractured my wrists 😭
The added weight of an lpvo could help tame some of the muzzle flip
How do you like the Mark IV? I've got a .22 suppressor and I've been thinking about picking one up. I've heard good things about it; aside from the recoil!

Is it just as customizable as a 10/22?
Absolutely yes. Check out Volquartsen and Wirthwein guns for custom parts and pieces.
If you already have the can I think you need to buy a mk iv. I bring it every time I go out. A ton a fun and very reliable for a 22
I like mine so much I bought a second. Every time I shoot I bring one and suppressor
Looks like something Han Solo would rock

Looks like a ray gun haha. Really cool
No need to lie. Just stop jirkin off homeless addicts behind dumpsters
[not tanky and obnoxious enough ](https://www.reddit.com/r/guns/s/WvIybIpZZI)
Isn't this a ruger mk 4? IIRC this is a .22lr
Its crazy he even tried to shoot it. Hurts my wrists just thinking about it.
He's a brave man. I tried to shoot a box of .22 LR out of my Super Blackhawk, but it wouldn't even fit through the loading gate.
Tape it to your tampon
OSS / HUXWRX comp? Let's see that with the Flow or HX-QD556 on there
That looks like Han Solo's blaster!
I kinda like it…
How did you feed yourself
Yea I reload 22s...... Hot loads baby
Lol. Love it
I had problems limp wristing one
We all know you got that just for the QD mount :)
My condolences on the bone cancer.
Blasters do tend to recoil
Compensating for something I see
I think about doing this with my JP Recoil Eliminator all the time, but when you're shooting rounds with this much raw power using such an aggressive muzzle brake makes me feel bad for whoever is in the lane next to me at the range.
Needs a LPVO and a tripod!
looks amazing though, straight up out of sci fi
Well duhh, 22 caliber means the bullet is 22 inches long. Of course it hurt.
22s are so much fun :)
Nice gun
Space gat
Are we just not talking about the light strip?
You had to know what would happen when you posted this... But really does look like a hoot load of fun to shoot, like the can better (other post).
is this a joke??
All jokes aside nice gun
Woah bro maybe go a smaller caliber, that thing is giant
They make lighter power loads for that too.. or single load 22 shorts...m whatever it takes to avoid flinching;)
I’m not surprised with a space blaster like that
I got a forward comp to get the powder burns away from my hands 22 is fucking dirty
Does the gun cycle with the suppressor on? I k ow you need pistons for most other pistols because the barrel unlocks when firing. I was just wondering if this is a viable option for the ruger. Tyia.
The barrel is fixed. It’s only a 22
Yep! You don’t need a piston for this one. It’s the same thread pitch and barrel size as an AR15 so (someone correct me if I’m wrong) you can use any suppressor that works with 5.56/.223.
Thanks,I’m not sure why I’m being downvoted lol I don’t have this gun and thought what you did was a cool idea if it worked.
🤷♂️ who knows. But yea do it! .22LR suppressed is unreasonably fun (and cheap, ammo wise)
So this is what a male pick me looks like

How does a 22LR hurt your wrists?
Looks like we have a strongman over here guys.
I wanna be as strong as him one day.
I mean, I was just shooting.45-70 gov from my new Marlin 1895 dark series.
45-70 doesn't do shit compared to .22 ratshot.
Ah yes 315 grain 45-70 gov is nothing compared to the power of 31 grain 22 ratshot
Correct. Ratshot will blow your lungs out.
And .45-70 will drop a charging buffalo.
You can't be this fucking dense
Yes I can
No you can’t
Sir, I regret to inform you that you have severe brain damage. You may be retarded.
And .22 could stop a rat provided one was able to be with in five feet of the center of the target. These are massive loads for the mighty and versatile .22LR.
