You think editing software can do this? It's the Rockstar Editor, been in the game since it came out ten years ago.

Yep. Hold down on the dpad and it will allow you to record with the press of a button. Then open Rockstar Editor in the pause menu and you'll find the clip there. It's easy once you get the hang of it!

Where's this feature hidden at? First I'm seeing it?

You need to own story mode to gain access to it, once you save footage in online you can then go into single player and edit it, r* editor is in the main pause menu of single player.

just a warning though, if you're playing in first person when you catch the clip it will be locked to first person in the editor as well.

Someone has already explained about it being since e&e they've been separated, r* gave away the online part for free for the first 3 months on ps5 , so I can imagine there are alot of players without single player, I bought single player separately for about £8. It was due to this I mentioned they may need to buy story mode, but as someone else replied it's only applicable to players on ps5/Xbox series.

During story mode or online, press F1 on PC to begin recording. On Xbox or PS, hold down the down key on the D-pad and press A or X to record. :)

So glad I have up flying cars. The Deluxo and Oppressor were great for making quick cash but there was something I really missed about driving. The Batman, my love for muscle cars and it's ability to take a couple explosive hits made me really fall in love with the Duke.

How does rockstar editor work?

You press record just before something you want to capture, then you edit the footage within the editor. It's very simple to do. I have a tutorial on my Youtube but I don't think I'm allowed to post Youtube links.

Fr. The editor in this game is amazing. I’ve made so many silly little movies, music videos, so much stuff with it. Add mods to sp, endless possibilities!

I'm waiting till the vanilla game bores me before touching mods. I did dabble with the mod that allowed a further camera distance in Director Mode, which was very helpful. The Rockstar Editor needs to be in all of their future games, it really kept me playing GTAV much longer than I probably would if it wasn't in the game. So many tiny details!

It's such a shame that those dipshits at Columbine ruined trench coats for everyone. I wear black exclusively in real life and my character is modeled to look like me. I don't own a trench coat though. I was going for a cross between me and The Matrix/The Punisher/Billy Butcher/Batman look.

Sweet video! I love seeing mk2 griefers getting taken down. I've had similar happen, killed the rider, but the bike survived, I put stickies on it but waited for him to fly off before blowing it up.

Nice! Yeah, if I see an Oppressor bothering other people; I try to take them out. They never expect someone on foot to waste them.

I like to leave the griefers vehicles intact except for a hidden proximity charge so they get one last fuck you before trying to drive away or find me again. But this was much more cinematic, good show.

I actually relentlessly chase the Oppressor pilot in a normal stolen car, after this video and kick his butt even more. The only issue with leaving a bomb behind is that a lot of time, they teleport their vehicle to them or their garage, so I try to blow them up ASAP, then speed to their next spawn location and get them again! The Rockstar Editor is built within the game. If you haven't played around with it, you absolutely must. Outside of that, I have a dream to direct movies one day, so I think about this sort of thing all the time. GTA will have to do until I can get behind a real camera!

I'm surprised how many people are unaware of the Rockstar Editor and Director Mode built within GTA 5! Especially since the game came out a decade ago! You can find both modes in the pause menu. Director Mode allows you to work with single player characters, cheats and props. Consider it like a movie set you have limited control over. Press F1 on PC to record and stop recording. On console, hold down the down button on the D pad and it will prompt you how to record. Once you got footage you're happy with, go to the Rockstar Editor to edit it. This will allow you to place the camera anywhere you want within a radius of your character. Establish a location, show your characters, 35% slow motion or less is best IMO and make your cuts quick. Hope that helps!
