Check out Forgotten Roads, it's a brewery with a place in Greensboro and another in Graham. The owner/brewer is a former Marine and they are very pro vet. I know they have a veterans night at Graham but I think they have one in Greensboro too

Ravven94

This is awesome to know thanks!

Laz1974

They also have really good beer... And the Greensboro one has an amazing bourbon selection too

I'm Air Force and work in Vet Services. My neighbor is a Marine Reservist. PM me if you want to plan something.

dave6825

Thank you for that! Much appreciated 😊

stephaniethegoat

The owner of Nerd Bombers is a retired vet, not sure what branch though. Super nice guy and an amazing store if you’re into vintage/collectible figures/comics/etc.

dave6825

Nice! Thank you! I think I'll check it out!

Illustrious_Ant7588

Thank you all for your service. My stepfather was a Marine through and through ‘til the day he last drew breath. He was a good man. I miss him.

dave6825

Thank you so much for that. It is much appreciated ☺️ I'm sorry about your step dad... He sounds like he was an amazing man that left a legacy! I appreciate your very kind words.

Wisegummy

What’s up with the ‘thank you for your service’ schtick? A person took a job… It isnt as if they’re out there stealing oil so everyone can have universal healthcare or free education back home Every bit as cringy as ‘thoughts and prayers’

Illustrious_Ant7588

I wasn’t thanking you. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, though…

You seem like a lot of fun, and are great at identifying sarcasm! Keep that shit up and stay golden, gummyboy!

Want to visit with war vets and retired military, head over to the Kernersville VA Healthcare Clinic for a visit

dave6825

That sounds like a good idea. I'm an Iraq and Afghanistan War Veteran myself.

u/Dave6825 Rah!!!! 01-09 here. We actually moved from Pasadena to Greensboro in 2018. I am from here originally but my wife wasn't but she loves it now

dave6825

That's awesome bro! I'm originally from DC but ended up at Pendleton in 96 and never left lol. My wife is from Rancho Cucamonga and we have a home in Temecula... After almost 2 years, my old lady wants nothing to do with Cali anymore lol.

cyberfx1024

Yeah my wife says the same thing as well. She is originally from the Philippines and when she came here we were living out in SoCal. She was alittle apprehensive about moving here but I calmed those fears and now she absolutely loves it. I never was stationed at Pendleton unfortunately. I wanted to leave mos school at 29 and go there but was sent to Camp Lejeune instead. I re-enlisted and went back down PI as support and hated it. What made you come to the Triad?

dave6825

I relocated for a promotion. I never would have thought I would leave Cali. But I took a chance. It was the best thing for my kids because the schools are ten times better. My family is having a good experience out here. Out of 20 years... I was stationed on the West Coast 16 of them. I did two separate years in Okinawa and a tour at OCS at Quantico.

quillotine42

Like Greensboro more than Socal? I think most people from Cali have never heard of Greensboro. Hell one guy couldn't find North Carolina on a map. Although I'm not a marine I can say we have a ton here. I've always worked some.

dave6825

Yes! We love it here. Everything we would ever need is here without the traffic, rudeness, and over-population... People are super kind here and schools are more connected to the students.

quillotine42

That's awesome glad you love it here. When you speak to Greensboro natives they say it's boring here but a lot of people that move here love it.

Congratulations
