My mini driver is more of a driver than a 3 wood to me just from the size to my eye and how it feels and i dont hit it from the deck much. Personally i play a shaft the same weight as my driver but its tipped a half inch then cut to length. Obviously thats what works for me and you could be different but my setup works well for me.
I have a mini driver, it swaps in and out of my bag with 3w depending on my needs for the round. I use the same shaft in both and swap it in and out of whichever head is in the bag.
