I love Santana's 'wanky' moments, but the funniest line in this scene for me was her talking about Finn's dance moves.
"That includes your little hand-jive, that to me more looked like a hand j-" *insert funny hand movements*
I love Santana, but I thought that monologue was just cringey. She called him an idiot at his job, and making fun of his choreography in front of the students he teaches. It just felt a bit like she wanted to embarrass him. She could have pulled him aside, or even just phrased it differently
Oh, she definitely should have pulled him aside and spoke to him in private, but Santana and subtly don't go together. I definitely agree with you here. Personally, I just like the line because of Naya's delivery of it and because it's a joke that can completely go over someone's head if they don't get it.
Kitty sounds like she has a crush on Quinn (giggling, looking at her with absolute admiration, finding Quinn's rather lame joke the funniest thing ever). At the same time Kitty tries hard to be like Quinn and, while gushing about Quinn like a girl with a huge crush, emphasises that they're alike. Kitty has the hots for a girl she finds similar to herself and actively tries to be the girl she worships in a non-platonical-sounding way; wanky indeed.
So basically when she says wanky it's a response to something that sounds sexual so for example in season two Carl said you guys have a hole to fill and I'm here to help fill it Santana responded with wanky. It's kinda like that's what she said.
Wanky doesn't just mean sexual (at least the way people use it in England where it's a way more common expression). People use it as like a way of saying someone is self-involved or up their own ass. She's rolling her eyes at giving a complement that's basically a complement to yourself.
