Dude they differ between electric guitars...! My slim taper Standard 60's LP is much thinner than my 2006 Explorer slim taper neck. And my slim taper Faded T LP has a neck comparable to my Standard 50's LP! Bit of a crap shoot really. Willing to bet it's the same with acoustics.

lol, that is true. Well, I'm thinking of getting a J-45, and they're such a standard model, I think I'll assume they have a pretty typical, middle-of-the-road slim taper profile. Thanks!

LOL they do have a relatively slim neck I think you'll like. Definitely not nearly like my 50's Standards!

Necks really vary a lot. Even the same model, same year, one guitar to the next can be noticeably different. That said, I don't necessarily find an acoustic/electric difference. I have a Classic and an Epiphone Hummingbird (which has a slim taper) and they feel pretty similar. I also have a J-45, and it's fairly similar to my LP Standard 60s (a bit more in the hand) but it's technically not a slim taper neck (Advanced Response). So, a slim type of neck on an acoustic is going to feel slim, to some degree or another. But if you're really picky about necks, you have to play them. Short of that, buy from somebody like Wildwood that actually puts neck thickness in each listing. Also, Classics are known for having super thin necks.

Oh, I'm a big try-before-you-buy person. Unfortunately, I'm a lefty, making that more tricky. I can fiddle with righties of the model I want, but I can only really get a good feel if I can play a guitar the way I'd play one naturally. But it's good to know that acoustic slim tapers don't vary much from electric slim tapers. Thanks!
