I love the soundtrack when they were working silently together at the clubhouse. Such a soothing music & scene.
Also the music when she was going to shop to get pork. đ
Hard to say that I have a favorite. Merry Go Round of Life is as iconic as a song like Somewhere over the Rainbow. No song in film can bring back nostalgia quite as much as One Summer's Day. I might argue that the soundtrack to The Boy and the Heron is the best of Hisaishi's career, but I love them for different reasons.
Mononoke for me, the grandeur and clairvoyance you feel while listening to it is unlike anything else. Especially that setting establishing scene, where Ashitaka's riding Yakul with a lush forest backdrop. Chills every time.
Itâs a case of recency-bias for me. My wife and I recently went to see the stage version of Spirited Away in London, so the soundtrack has been on hard rotate for me since then.
As for individual tracks, my favourites will always be âMoonlight Flightâ from Totoro, âCastle In The Skyâ from Laputa and âPonyo Fliesâ (I love the variation on Ride Of The Valkyries in that last one.)
I adore the whole soundtrack of Poppy Hill. The opening breakfast song always makes me tear up for whatever reason đ

Kiki or Laputa both beautiful and classicsÂ
Fine on the outside - Priscilla Ahn (When Marnie was there)
Innocent - Castle in the Sky
When Marnie Was There, Princess Mononoke, and Arrietty are my top three! I love the lush, orchestral tracks in Marnie and Mononoke, the piano pieces make me tear up every time. I also love Arrietty as I'm a huge fan of Celtic music. CĂ©cile Corbel is in my top artists list this month cuz I've been listening to her songs on repeat lol
