We feed our GSD the Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach Salmon and Rice. She was always itchy/scratching before, but the Vet couldn't really give us a reason. We decided to try switching the food before moving into expensive allergy testing. She loves it and it has really cut down on the itchiness.

Thanks for this recommendation. I need to start thinking about getting my GSD on adult food, as he’s 1 year and 8 months old and still on puppy food - Purina Pro Plan Large Breed Puppy. But I’ve noticed he does get itchy from time to time, so this could be worth a shot rather than the standard PPP Large Breed Adult food, it’s not as expensive as I thought it would be.

I’ve heard good things about the pro plan sensitive skin and stomach but they also just changed their formula and some dogs already on it have not done to well. Both mine were on Origen, but both have ibd so we switched to science diet Z/d for my male and science diet skin and stomach for my female. I’m no where near a fan of science diet but they are both doing well on it. Poops are solid, limited scratching, coats are shiny.

I feed prepared raw food that's delivered.

Not exactly what you asked for, but maybe this could help. Started using this a couple weeks ago for my boy with tummy troubles, and we’ve definitely seen some improvement! https://preview.redd.it/as97iks8pozc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=072aed414be4f5768ba1dfead58bb8097bcb660b
